Whoo-la-la!

With Christmas just around the corner it is a busy time with various Christmas parties .... I had my first one on Thursday with a couple of friends of mine. We went out to lunch and then swapped gifts.

I decided to make a calendar using coasters and my bind it all. I purchased the tiny tear of calendars online recently so of course now I have them I have to use them right!

The owl used here is from the "Owl Together' Set from Stampin' Up .... I have had it for a while and finally got it out to play with.

Here is a closeup of the top portion of my calendar and the owl.

Some Elzybells Challenges !

I have a couple of Elzybells items to share with you today which are for a couple of Elzybells challenges.

The first is for the sketch challenge which was posted to the Elzybells blog 2 weeks ago. I paper pieced the cat's cushion using the same designer paper that I used for the background of my card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Kitty Queen - Elzybells
Paper: White; Taken with Teal - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Teal Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

The second item I am sharing with you today is for this week's Elzybells challenge .... which is to create a Christmas ornament or decoration. It has been a while since I have used any microscope glass slides or the frames from Ranger Industries that i decided I would use them for my challenge item.

I stamped my image twice onto white card and used the glass slides as a guide to cut out my square image ... placed them back to back sandwiched between two glass slides and then placed into the slide frame.

Hop on over to Elzybells blog to see the creations the other design team members created for both of these challenges.

An Elfish Christmas!

Happy Monday everyone! My card today is for this week's challenge I do with my CCEE Stamper friends. This week our challenge is a supply challenge.

Charlene sent each of us the following supplies:
  • Red Starburst Translucent paper
  • Three different poinsettias: dark red; red with yellow cream centre; sheer red.
  • Gold stretch cord & gold ribbon
  • Red ornament embellishment
  • Three snowflakes: white; red & gold
Our instructions from Charlene were that we had to:
  • create a Christmas card.
  • use some portion of the red designer paper.
  • use at least one for the poinsettias
  • use either the gold cord or ribbon
  • the red ornament and snowflakes were optional.
I used last week's Mojo sketch challenge from Poetic Artistry's blog for the layout of my card. The snow dots cuttlebug embossing folder was used to create the texture on the top portion of the blue card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the CCEE Stampers cards on our CCEE Stamper blog.

Santa Was Here!

Well not really hehe .... much too earlier for Santa to come yet. I know that down in Australia we are a little ahead of you guys in the Northern Hemisphere time wise but not that far ahead hehe!
And to be honest I am not ready for him to come yet are you??

This card is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge and I got to use my new nestabilities dies that arrived on Friday .... yahhhhhhhhh I have been waiting for these for ages as I am sure lots of other people have too. I am soooooo lucky I pre ordered these because with the downturn in the financial scene that has meant our dollar has devalued down here against the US dollar which means these dies have almost doubled in price yikes!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky I was able to get them for the original price!

I used the labels 2 nestabilites to cut out the owl image. I embossed the olive card using the ornament cuttlebug embossing folder. The circle sentiment is one of the downloadable stamps from The Cutting Cafe ... this one is one of the 1 inch ones, I thought it went well with this cute Santa Owl!

Recipe:
Stamps: Owl - Penny Black; Sentiment - The Cutting Cafe
Paper: White; Real Red & Old Olive - SU; DP - Making Memories
Other: Black Ink; So Saffron SU Ink; Label 2 Nestabilities; Ornament Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; White Gel Pen; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Red Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

Welcome Little Robot!

It's time for another of Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenges .... this week I decided not to do cupcakes as I had new stamps I wanted to play with instead!

A few weeks back when I was shopping in one of my favorite scrapbook stores for designer paper I found this one that had cogs all over it. At the time I didn't know why I would need it but as it looked different and was a reasonable price I thought why not add it to the pile! Well then this week I received the new "RBG Robot Family" plate from Alota Rubber Stamps and knew right off that this designer paper would come in handy with this set! This is such a fun set!!!!

I did 'tweak' Taylor's sketch a tiny bit as it didn't suit my card to have the brads on the left side of the card as she had them.

Stamps: RBG Robot Family - Alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Real Red & Brilliant Blue - SU; DP - Sandy Lion

Santa I've Been Nice!

Hi everyone, well according to the Christmas Tree Countdown calendar on the side bar to my blog there is now only 33 days to Christmas ..... yikes!!!!!!!!

So of course that means it is time to get started making some Christmas type projects and one I wanted to share with you all today is this Christmas Tree cut out Pillow Box. This is a template that is available to purchase from The Cutting Cafe. Once you purchase the template the file is sent to you as a PDF or WPC if you have a Pazzles cutting machine (which I don't) and then you can just print it out using your printer and create away.

I printed mine onto white card and then just covered the white card with designer paper so that the template image would be on the inside of the box when completed.

Once I had cut out the Christmas Tree shape from the centre of the box (this is preprinted on the pillow box) I then outlined the edge of the tree shape with a green spicia pen to give it some definition. I then attach clear acetate over the cut out shape on the inside of the box.

I finished off my pillow box by adding some red ribbon and one of the Christmas Circle Printable Stamps which are also available from The Cutting Cafe.

Recipe:
Stamps: Christmas Circle Printable Stamps - The Cutting Cafe
Paper: White; Real Red & Always Artichoke - SU; Acetate; Wassail DP - Basic Grey
Other: Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Punches; Scallop Circle Punch; Green Spicia Pen; Pillow Box Template - The Cutting Cafe

I'm Sweet On You!

I have finally been able to make my card for Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. Seeing I was away all weekend for my daughters wedding I wasn't able to do it when I normally do.

I used Pink Poison's teacher Anya stamp for my card .... but as I wanted a cupcake on my card rather than an apple I stamped a cupcake onto scrap card and cut it out and layered it over the apple the girl is holding.

Recipe:
Stamps: Teacher Anya - Pink Poison; I'm Sweet on You - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze - SU; Offbeat DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Rectangle Nestabilities; Script Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Orange Brads; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

Got Cupcakes!

Hiya everyone!!!!!!

My card today is for this week's MFT Sketch challenge which you will find over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS. This week it is my friend Cindy Haffner's turn to supply the sketch. I hope you get a chance to play. Don't forget to check out the MFTSC57 thread to see the sketch, and find out how you can win a gift certificate from MFT Stamps.

I used one of the cupcakes from "It's A Cupcake Kind of Day" set that was released by MFT Stamps earlier in the month.

The bottom of the cupcake was paper pieced using the same designer paper that I used for the top portion of my card.

Here is a close up of the cupcake ... I also used foam tape to raise the bottom portion of the cupcake.

Batteries Not Included!

My card today is for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. Just before the sketch was posted this afternoon (my time) the postie came and delivered this new unmounted plate of robot stamps from Alota Rubber Stamps, so of course I had to play with some of them to create my card. This is a new set just released this month and is called RBG Robot Family, you can see more of this set here.

I added the screw brads to each of the squares on the corners of my card.

Recipe:
Stamps: RBG Robot Family - Alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Real Red - SU
Other: Black Ink; Screw Brads; Copics

Blog Hopping ... Is that a Problem

Hi guys .... you ready for another MFT blog hop!!!!

If you didn't hop onto my blog from Cindy Haffner's blog then you may want to go to Kim van der sanden's blog and start at the beginning ... once you get to the end of the blog hop ... don't forget to leave a comment on that blog so you are in for a chance for some fabulous blog candy.

I made this card a few weeks ago for my daughter's birthday ... but as the stamps I used here were not being released until later today (Wed 19th November) I couldn't share it with you all until now. I just love this new BC Dzyns new set called "and then I said" which will be available for sale through MFT Stamps. The set is designed with teenagers in mind however I think it has a much wider appeal than that ... my daughter is in her 30's and it suited her so well I just had to use it.

Don't you just love the sentiment ... this set has lots of fun sassy sentiments ... to make this one fit in for a birthday card I used my computer to create a saying for inside the card which said "that you're getting older? Happy Birthday". Thanks to my friend Kim who helped me out with the inside greeting.

I used the traffic jam cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the red base panel. The layout of this card was for one of Beate's weekend sketch challenges.

Don't forget to continue on with the blog hopping fun you will need to leave my blog and head on over to Jessie Rone's blog. Enjoy your blog hopping journey!

Recipe:
Stamps: And then I said - BC Dzyns
Paper: White; Black; Real Red & Taken with Teal - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Circle Nestabilities; Traffic Jam Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Black Brads; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Copics

Hi everyone ... it is Pretties Tuesday again so I have another card featuring Paper Pretties stamps to share with you today.

For this card I used two of the new Nativity sets that were released earlier in the month ... they are "Nativity" & "Worship Him".

This card uses another of the medallions that are created using the circle nestabilities and my EK Success corner punches ... I love how these turn out and they are soooooo easy to create. Here is the link to the tutorial on how to create these medallions for anyone wanting to give them a try.

Paper: White; Night of Navy & Baja Breeze - SU; DP - Basic Grey

My Weekend!

Hi everyone ... in my blog post that I uploaded yesterday I mentioned to you all that this particular one was a special one for me. I am sure some of you are wondering what I meant by that hehe.

Well the fact is that I have been away from home the past 3 days to attend my eldest daughters wedding. It has been a very busy few days as I had to travel up to Fraser Island (which I was told by my SIL was a 4 hr drive from here ... but turned out to be a 7 hr trip up and a 6 1/2 hr trip back) The return trip last night wasn't helped with one of the worst storms in Qld in 6 years and us having to travel at 10km per hour for about 1 1/2 hrs arghhhhhhh! But we did finally make it home safe and sound ... and as much as I enjoyed my daughters wedding there is no place like home!

She made a very beautiful bride (I am a little biased), I am including a photo of the ceremony here as I know a number of my friends will be asking to see a pic so I figured this would be the easiest way to do so. I will be sharing with you all in the near future some of the things we made for the wedding.

Oh btw for those who are wanting to know ... my youngest daughter is the one standing at the far left of this pic holding one of the flower girls hands.

Did I Do That!

OK onto my card today .... as it is Monday it is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends. This week is our Catchy Name Featured Stamper Challenge (CNFS) ... this is where we pick someone from SCS who has a catchy user name and we create a card around her name. This month the CNFS is "Eggette". Apparently Bonnie gathers chicken eggs from over 12000 chickens on their farm. Her favorite embellishment is ribbons and she loves the color green.

Our instructions for this challenge was that our card had to have an egg on it somewhere .... we also had to use some shade of green & ribbon on our card.

When Charlene told us about the 12000 eggs that Bonnie gathers .... Cindy Motherway told us that she would be putting 12000 eggs on her card .... now really it wouldn't surprise me if she did ... remember she is the one that made us put 18 buttons on a card once LOL!! Anyway that reminded me of this pile of eggs stamp that I have had for years and this chicken so I decided to use those on my card. We didn't have to include a chicken but as this chicken goes well with the eggs I decided to include it on my card.

As you can see I used green card and also green for the grass .... and I made loops of green ribbon to put at the top of my card.

The layout for this card was inspired by last week's Mojo sketch that Julee of Poetic Artistry post to her blog each week. I did tweak it a little bit.

Recipe:
Stamps: Chicken & Eggs - Art Impressions; Grass - Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers
Paper: White; Black; Certainly Celery - SU
Other: Black Ink; Blue Ink; Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon; Black Brads; Green Grosgrain Ribbon; Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Foam Tape; Copics

Cupcake Mojo

Hi guys, I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend .... mine is very special ... but I will tell you about that a little later.

My card today uses another of the downloadable stamps which are available from The Cutting Cafe. This time I used the cupcake at its original size when printed.

The layout for this card is using this week's Mojo sketch challenge that Julee of Poetic Artistry creates each week.

Recipe:
Stamps: Cupcake - The Cutting Cafe
Paper: White; Pretty In Pink & Rose Red - SU; DP - DCWV
Other: Circle Nestabilities; Pink Brads; Script Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Foam Tape; Copics
