To celebrate the new year I decided to create this card using Whimsie Doodles “Lush Out For New Year’s”, this is another fun digital set!

I decided to use this week’s Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch challenge (MTSC54) for the layout of my card.

Sometimes You’re The Dog!

tpe-sometimes-dog1-wm

Hi everyone,

It is challenge time over on The Pink Elephant blog, this is the last challenge for 2009 … but have no fear we will be back next week for the start of 2010. Wow it is going to take a little bit of getting used to, to remember that we are getting into a new year!

Our challenge this week is another sketch challenge ….. so hope you will be able to find some time this week to play along with us.

This week our sponsor is Totally Stampalicious, so The Pink Elephant Design Team are all using stamps from Totally Stampalicious.

For my card I used the “Hawt Dawg” set … I just love this set! I only used part of the dog as that was all that would fit inside the circle I had to use for the sketch.

For the band across the front of the card I used Martha Stewarts Crown Punch around the Page set, using just the border punch, I thought it might look a little like a dogs collar. I then embossed this with a cuttlebug embossing folder and then added bling to the collar/band.

tpe-sometimes-dog-wm Here is the inside of my card, don’t you just love the sentiment. The fire hydrant is also included in the stamp set.

TPE Sketch #12 Here is the sketch if you want to play along with us this week.

Stamps: Hawt Dawg – Totally Stampalicious

Paper: White; Red; Black; DP

Other: Black Ink; MS Crown Border Punch; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Swarovski Crystals; Modern Label Tag Punch & Die; Circle Nestabilities; Foam Tape; Copics

When You Stop Believing In Santa ……

underpants-Christmas-wm

You get underwear for Christmas …. ohhhhhhhhhhhh no!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!!!!

I hope you all manage to get more then just underwear this year hehe! Well Santa has already been here (remember we are about 14 – 16 hours ahead of all of you living in the USA), and I must have been a good girl this year cause I did very well *smile*

I just couldn’t resist purchasing this fun digital set last week from Whimsie Doodles. I had seen it around blogland for a few weeks or so now and kept saying I don’t need anymore Christmas images … but it is such fun that I couldn’t help myself hehe! I guess at least I have one card made for next year already ;)

I know there are many of you who visit my blog regularly, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for your support throughout the year. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas!

Hi all,

Well not too long now until Christmas Day … it is already Christmas Eve for those of us who live in the Southern Hemisphere …. fortunately all the shopping is done :) …. now to organise the food!

My card today is for the Delightful Sketches sketch challenge from a couple of weeks ago. MFT Stamps was the sponsor of the sketch challenge that week so I decided to play along but only just had time to do it and post. Of course I decided to use a MFT Stamps image …. this one is from the Pure Innocence range and is called Heart Stripes. I just adore these stamps!!!!!!!!

I decided to alternate my striped panels so that some were horizontal and others vertical.

Pucker Up!

PP-Pucker-Up-wm

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. If you didn't hop onto my blog via Christi Thorsen's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman's blog.

This week it is Jana Weaver’s turn to issue the challenge which is to create a Valentines card without using ANY Red or Pink!!! That means Sophia can’t be wearing red or pink either!!!! (we could only use pink on her cheeks if we liked!) ….. wow cruel Jana …. hehe!

Actually it wasn’t to hard to create my card without using red and pink, it could have been worse she could have said no hearts too! I actually turned my card into an Anniversary card, but it could be either …. the front would be the same for either occasion, but as it was my 37th Wedding Anniversary last week … I made this for my DH!

I used Paper Pretties “Mistletoe Kisses” to create my card. Now this is actually a Christmas themed stamp, but I thought it would work for a Valentine/Anniversary card too! All I did to make it work was stamp it onto white card and cut out around the image. I cut off the mans left arm where he is holding the mistletoe … it didn’t hurt him really and now it just looks like his arm is around his wife! I also didn’t want holly on the apron so I cut out a strip of designer paper to put over that area.

MTSC53

The layout of my card uses this week’s Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch challenge (MTSC53), I did tweak it just a little as I wanted to also use my new Martha Stewart Heart Deep Edge Border Punch!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. My card today is a “Side Step Card” these are so much fun to create and pretty easy too. Today I am using one of my favorite Alota bug stamps … this one is called “Cutie in Mirror” and what a cutie it is too!

I have had this image stamped and colored sitting in the box of scraps on my desk for the past couple of months, so I thought it was about time I did something with it.

Ava Combing Hair!

tpe-sketch-In-Style-wm

Hi all!

The Pink Elephant has another fun challenge for you this week and it is a sketch challenge! Who doesn’t love sketch challenges right! This week our sponsor is In Style Stamps and each of the design team are using digital images from In Style.

The image I used on my card today is called “Ava Combing Hair”, isn’t she a cutie!

Now I tried something different this week to color my image, normally my preferred method would be copics. However I recently saw a tutorial on how to color digital images using Photo Shop Elements and as I have this program I decided to give it a go. The tutorial was very easy to follow, although I think I do still prefer copics … but every now and then maybe! Here is the link to the tutorial if you want to give it a go.

Going Crackers!

Merry-&-Bright-Cracker-wm

Happy Sunday everyone!

Well I am starting to cross off those jobs that have to be done before Christmas arrives. One of those jobs that I do every year is make and decorate my Christmas Crackers.

This year I cheated just a little as I purchased plan gold crackers and then decorated them how I wanted. I used Waltzing Mouse Stamps “Seasons of Love” stamp set … I love how these match the Spellbinders Nestabilities!

Crackers2-wm Here is another view of the crackers all together … hard to take a good picture of them in the basket so you could still see the crackers … but hope this one is ok!

Going Banana’s for Crazy 4 Challenges!

c4c-monkey-treat-wm

Wow Saturdays come around quick don’t they!!!!! Of course for me Saturdays mean challenge time with my “Crazy” friends over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Of course that is crazy in the nicest way hehe!

This week our hostess with the mostest Joanne Grzelak has challenged us to another fun challenge …. which is to create a treat container. I decided to keep away from the Christmas theme this week and decided to use my monkey stamp instead to create my treat box.

c4c-monkey-treat-2-wmI created the box using a template and stamp that I purchased from Darcie Rubber Stamps a number of years ago … the template is called Lock Box Template and can be found here.

My daughter found these cute banana lollies a few months back when she was shopping and thought I might like them for one of my stamping projects … they work perfectly for this treat box!

c4c-monkey-treat-3-wm Here’s a pic to show the top of the box and how the various sections “lock” into each other to keep the box closed.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Stamps: Monkey Banana Frame -  Darcie Stamps; Jungle Leaves – Rubber Stampede

Building A Snowman!

alota-snowman-wm

Hi everyone ….

It is time for another challenge over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group. This week the challenge is hosted by Marie Carlsson. Marie’s challenge is “Snow” …. there seems to be lots of snow around this blog this week LOL …. but it is only on my blog, it is now summer where I live so any snowman I tried to make here would really turn into mush very quickly!

You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card/project is selected randomly from all the entries received.

I decided to use one of my older Alota Bug stamps …. and the one I selected is called “Bugs Building Frosty”  I do love the bug images that Alota Rubber Stamps have, that was what drew me to Alota Rubber Stamps in the first place years ago!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bugs Building Frosty – Alota Rubber Stamps

Paper: White; Greens; DP - Kaisercraft

Other: Black Ink; Snowflake Punch; MS Scallop Border Punch; Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon; Candy Dots; Glitter Glue; Foam Tape; Copics

A Winter Wonderland

 elzy-bears-wonderland-wm

Hi everyone.

They say all good things must come to an end, and today marks my last card I create for Elzybells as a Design Team Member as my term has come to an end. Elizabeth will soon be announcing the names of who will be in her team for 2010. It has been a wonderful experience …. thanks Elizabeth for making me part of your team for the last 14 months. Of course I am sure I will be playing with my Elzybells stamps from time to time as they are such fun stamps!

Ok onto my card which is for this week’s Elzybells challenge over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge is “Winter Wonderland”  - using the colors blue, silver and white.

I am in a snowman mode right now ….  I had to make snow or snowman cards for other challenges so I just kept going LOL … the image I used here is called “Teddy & Snowman”, isn’t he cute!

I recently got some of the new Martha Stewart Punch around the page punches so of course I had to play with one of them which is what I used to create the frame that the image is on. These are soooo easy to use! I added texture to both my white pieces of card using two different snow cuttlebug embossing folders. Of course I also had to use silver to cover the challenge so I added silver brads to the top right hand corner of my card.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge.

Lucky Dawg!

SC259-Lucky-Dawg-wm

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great day!

My card today combines two challenges from this week. First of all it is this week’s sketch challenge over on SCS, I thought it was about time I played along as it has been a couple of week’s since I did this. I did turn the sketch on it’s side to make allowances for the image that I wanted to use and it was already sitting here cut out and colored just had to turn it into a card … easy peasy!

The second challenge this covers is this week’s Totally Stampalicious challenge which was “Button Up” to use buttons on our cards. I used there “Hawt Dawg” set to create my card today.

Recipe:

Stamps: Hawt Dawg – Totally Stampalicious

Paper: White; Brown; Blue; DP – DCWV

Other: Black Ink; MS Double Loop Border Punch; Buttons; Foam Tape; Copics

Little Princess!

PP-Princess-Castle-wm

Hi everyone!
It is time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. If you didn't hop onto my blog via Christi Thorsen's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman's blog.

This week the challenge is hosted by Christi Thorsen and she challenged us to use eyelets in our creations …. not too difficult this week *smile*. Although I must admit my poor eyelets have become very neglected since the introduction of brads, so it is good to have challenges like this.

PP-Princess-Castle2-wm

I used Paper Pretties “Lady Sophia” to create my card. I decided to create a Side Stair Step card …. a princess needs a castle right! I seem to be having a run of making these type of cards this week …. especially after I created the Double Sided Stair Step card that I posted on my blog yesterday. I decided to create this one so it looked a little like a castle, so I also cut down at the top fold and then folded those pieces in to resemble the top of the castle.

I still need to work out how I was going to use my eyelets on my card, and I found these cross eyelets that I got from a Papercrafts show earlier in the year so decided to use those.

Today only VIP customers have the opportunity of purchasing the WTG set 3 WEEKS EARLY!!!!!!!!!! There will only be 50 VIP collections available and then the set will be unavailable until the full release on January 6th at 10:00 PM EST.

mft-popcorn2-wm As the WTG “Click Flick” set has girls eating popcorn, I decided to create a popcorn holder for my project today. When you pull up the ribbon, the popcorn and card behind the popcorn pulls up from inside the pocket. These are soooooo simple to create!!!!!
Do you see those round embellishments I have added to my popcorn holder, those are the Chocolate Kiss Glitter Garnishes which MFT released last month!
I paper pieced the couch using designer paper from Basic Grey.
mft-popcorn3-wm
Here is a pic of the slider pocket without the popcorn, so even after the recipient has eaten all the popcorn the card is still useful.
mft-popcorn4-wm Here is another view this time with the card that goes into the pocket removed so that you can see it more clearly. The popcorn buckets and sentiment are just 2 of the other stamps included in this fab set.
Well now it is time to leave my blog and head on over to the amazing Jessie Rone’s blog. I am sure she will have something awesome to share with you!
