Awesome!

Hi everyone

Well I finally got around to making my card for this week's Cupcake Challenge that Taylor of Taylored Expressions hosts each week. No cupcakes for me today!

I decided to play with another of my "The Greeting Farm" sets that I have here ... for this card I used Ian from the "Dress Me" set and his outfit from "Wardrobe #1".

I wanted something a little different for the corners on my image panel so I punch out some cranberry & not quite navy circles and cut the blue ones in half and layered to create my corners.

Recipe:
Stamps: Dress Me & Wardrobe #1 - The Greeting Farm
Paper: White; Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue & Cranberry Crisp - SU; DP - Kaiser
Other: Black Ink; Circle Punches; Spots & Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Key Tag Punch; Blue Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

MFTSC 66

Hi everyone ... it is Thursday again which means it is time for another MFT Stamps sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS. This week it is my turn to provide the sketch. Cindy Haffner and I look forward to seeing your creations this week.

My card today uses the "Maid for You" set that was released by MFT Stamps earlier in the month. As I hadn't used the red designer paper for the challenge I did with my CCEE Stamper friends earlier in the week I decided to use that for my card.

Here is a close up of the heart I added to my card .... I used the heart nestabilities and added some bling around the edge.

Don't forget that by participating in this challenge and posting your card to the MFTSC66 gallery on SCS you have a chance of winning a $5 gift voucher. For more details check the thread for this challenge over on the MFT member forum.

Stamps: Maid For You - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Real Red - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Heart Nestabilities; Bling; Foam Tape; Copics

Pretties Wednesday - Cuddle Me!

Two weeks ago Jana challenge the Prettie Girls to a Limited Supply challenge. We had to create a card or scrapbook page using the following items:

1 dry embossed piece (embossing folders and texture plates count!)
2 pieces of patterned paper
3 colors of solid cardstock (this includes any neutrals you use)
4 embellishments
5 layers

So, the dry embossed piece must be one of your patterned papers or your 3 colors. And, at no point should there by more than 4 layers under a top piece of cardstock. However, if you have your base card with a second layer on that...you may have multiple small pieces each with 2 layers under them...right? Oh...and you may use as many tools as you like. Guess this isn't so much limited as just very specific!

Yikes .... the first thing I did when I read this challenge was to print out the rules cause I was sure I would forget something ... I don't do well with limited supplies LOL. And I was right cause I had all my card almost finished when I realised I hadn't done anything with embossing .... so I decided to emboss my photo corners ... phew that was a close call LOL!

I wasn't sure whether the 4 embellishments .... meant 4 in total like 4 brads or similar. Or whether it meant we had to use 4 different embellishments ... not wanting to mess up at this stage I emailed Jana and she told me that as she hadn't stipulated this I could do either ... so I went with 4 different types.

My embellishments are:
  • The embossed photo corners
  • Brads
  • Ribbon
  • Rhinestone ( you may need to look closely at Sophia's ear to see this)

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Pretties girls created for this challenge:
Recipe:
Stamps: Cuddle Me - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Soft Sky & Chocolate Chip - SU; DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Word Window Punch; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Brown Brads; Photo Corners Punch; Tiny Mosaic Embossing Folder; Foam Tape; Copics

Loads of Love!

It took me a lot longer today to get my card made for this week's sketch challenge on SCS. Not because it was a hard sketch, but because I spent the day with friends!

I already had this image stamped out to play with and as it fitted the sketch today I decided to play with that. The images used here are from the Alota Rubber Stamps "Wagon/Wheelbarrow" unmounted plate, that contains a wagon & this wheelbarrow ... various things that will fit inside and some sentiments.

I used the heart blocks cuttlebug embossing folder to create the panel that goes under the image.

Recipe:
Stamps: Wagon/Wheelbarrow UM Plate - Alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Pretty In Pink, Pumpkin Pie & Rose Red - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Circle Punches; Scallop Circle Punch; Heart Blocks Embossing Folder; Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Copics

Dancing Is Dreaming With Your Feet!

Happy Tuesday everyone .... as it is Tuesday it means I have another Paper Pretties card to share with you. My card today uses the new "Ballerina Sophia" which will be the new March SOTM, isn't she just toooooo adorable!!!!!!!!!!

Find out how you can receive this stamp in March the month before she is officially released to the public here.

It is hard to tell in the photo ... but the tulle portion of Sophia's ballet costume is colored using the clear spica pen ... this gives it a shimmery look to make it appear see through. I added paper piercing corners to the top right and bottom left corners of my image panel.

Recipe:
Stamps: Ballerina Sophia - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Pink Pirouette & Rose Red - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Long Nestabilities; Oval Punch; Label Punch; Paper Piercing Tool & Mat; Brads; Grosgrain Ribbon; Clear Spica Pen; Foam Tape; Copics

You Make My Heart Flutter!

Happy Australia Day to all my Aussie readers!!!!!!!

It's time for yet another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends!
This week our challenge was a supply challenge with Cindy Motherway sending us the supplies for our project.

Cindy sent us the following:
  • 2 different designer papers (red & pink)
  • 2 different ribbons (red & pink)
  • 1 heart brad
  • 1 heart button
  • 1 sentiment
  • paper bag
  • sheet of red heart stickers
The instructions that Cindy included with the supplies were:
  • you must use the white bag and the sentiment ... we had to be careful not to mess up, cause Cindy only included the one sentiment!
  • you must use one of the papers. You must fill it with something fun and you must give it to your hubby for Valentines Day.
  • We could use anything else we wanted ... we didn't have to use it all.
I decided to use the pink designer paper for my project and seeing how much I love owls ... I decided to use the these High Hopes owls for my goodie bag. You can see I used the white bag ... just in case Cindy comes checking ;) . I did cut my bag down a little so that it would work with the designer paper we were given. And I used the pink ribbon just to be on the safe side hehe!

I had some of the pink designer paper over after cutting it down to create my goodie bag so I decided to make a scrapling ... my scrapling is approx 2 1/4 inches wide. As I had to use the sentiment Cindy included and I couldn't get it all to fit on my goodie bag ... I decided to use it on my scrapling instead. Here you can see the inside of my scrapling too with the remainder of the sentiment ... and the heart brad too!

Now as for the part about MUST give it to my hubby .... we will see ... my hubby doesn't believe in Valentines Day so I probably won't.

Recipe:
Stamps: Owls - High Hopes; Sentiment - Inkadinkadoo
Paper: White; Rose Red & Pretty In Pink - SU; DP -
Doodlebug Designs
Other: Black Ink; Oval Punch; Lace Doily Border Punch; Pink Ribbon; Circle Nestabilities; Foam Tape; Copics

Luv U!

G'day all ... I have a Flopsey card for your today using that cute "Valentine Flopsey" that was released by MFT Stamps earlier in the month. I created this for a tutorial I wrote on using MFT's digital papers for MFT's How'd They Do That? forum over on SCS. Hope you have time to check it out.

This is a fairly simple design as I wanted to focus on the digital paper that I used on this card. I just love playing with the digital papers that are available at MFT Stamps, this one used here is part of the Spring Pack from the Stephanie Fizer range.

You can see the different ways I use these papers in my tutorial, here I actually printed on labels to create my background.

Recipe:
Stamps: Valentine Flopsey - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Tempting Turquoise & Groovy Guava - SU; Stephanie Fizer DP - MFT Stamps
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Grosgrain Ribbon; Blue Brads; Labels; Foam Tape; Copics

I can think of nothing more enjoyable then staying home and having noodles from my favorite noodle shop for dinner ..... hmmmm I haven't had them for a while so I just might need to do something about that LOL!

I used the labels 2 nestabilities to create the layers for my take out container. The background paper I used here comes from an origami book I purchased for the papers that it had inside it.

Cupcake Challenge Anniversary

Taylor is celebrating the one year anniversary of the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. Each of the ladies on the Weekly Cupcake Crew has designed their own sketch for the celebration. I'm featuring Monika Davis' sketch challenge. You can check out the sketch on her blog and find out about the prize you can win by participating!

Don't forget to check out Taylor's blog, the anniversary celebration headquarters, for all the sketch sketch challenges as well as an awesome grand prize for one random winner who participates in ALL 9 sketch challenges! We hope you'll help us celebrate this yummy occasion!

For my card I used the Happy Chef set from The Greeting Farm ... I had hoped that this set would make it in time for me to use for this challenge and it did :). The cupcake also comes in the set so of course I added that to the chef's plate. I used a variety of circle nestabilities, punches and circle cutter to create the circles for my card.

Don't forget to check out the other cupcake samplers for this particular sketch.

S.S. Hanna

Hi everyone, it Friday which means that it is time for another challenge over on the Hanna Stamps members forum of SCS. This week it is my turn to host the challenge.

It is the middle of summer here where I live. This means many people spend their time on the beaches or in the water either swimming, surfing, boating and many other water sports.
So I decided that my challenge today would focus on these activities. I decided to use the new "Ahoy Hanna" that was released by Hanna Stamps earlier in the month.

I stamped the boat and masked this to stamp my waves. I then masked the sky so I could use the copic air brush system to add color to my waves. Then I did the sky after I stamped the clouds and masked those.

Recipe:
Stamps: Ahoy Hanna - Hanna Stamps
Paper: White; Real Red & Not Quite Navy - SU
Other: Black Ink; White Gel Pen; Copic Air Brush System; Copics

Be My Valentine!

Hi everyone!

It's time for another Elzybells challenge .... this week our challenge was to create a special valentines treat / gift.

Last week when I was browsing around SCS, I discovered that the technique challenge was to create an origami box. I have made an origami box but as I hadn't turned it into this particular type of box I decided to give it a go too. You can find the details of that challenge and how to create this box here.

I used the new Elzybells Teddy Heart Wreath & Special Place that were both released earlier this month.
Don't forget to go on over to the Elzybells blog so you can check out what the rest of the design team came up with for this challenge.

Recipe: Stamps: Teddy Heart Wreath; Special Place & Be My Valentine - Elzybells

Don't forget that by participating in this challenge and posting your card to the MFTSC65 gallery on SCS you have a chance of winning a $5 gift voucher. For more details check the thread for this challenge over on the MFT member forum. Cindy & I look forward to seeing your creations.

Prettie Wednesday - Surf's Up Dude!

Two weeks ago Charmaine challenged the Prettie Girls to go back to basics and go "pastel"! We had to dig out our chalks and use them to color our creations!

It has been ages since I have used my pastels/chalks to color in an image .... I normally just reach for my copics as they are my favorite coloring medium .... but of course not one to shirk from a challenge I went looking for my pastels. I also grabbed my E-Z chalk enhancer which I applied over the chalks after I had applied them to my image.

I used Paper Pretties cute "Surf's Up" stamp set to create my card. I used the curved rectangles nestabilities to create the background layers of my card. The top portion of the back panel was embossed using the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Pretties girls created for this challenge:
Recipe:
Stamps: Surf's Up - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Black; Tempting Turquoise - SU; DP - Unknown

A Prettie Valentine Box!

Hi it's Paper Pretties Tuesday which means I have a Paper Pretties item to share with you today. This week I decided to play along with the Paper Pretties challenge (PWC35) which was to make a box using "Made with Love" or "Sweets for the Sweet" stamp set.

Now you might notice I didn't use either of those two stamp sets on my box this week .... I don't have the sweet set and as I was reading the challenge quickly ... only the "Love" part registered cause when I went to check on the challenge to get the details for this post ... I discovered it was "Made with Love" not "Sending You Love" .... oops. I did wonder why she picked that set hehe but anyway!!!!!!!

Well as I did all that work I decided to go with what I had already.

Here is my box opened ... you can see the yummy chocolates. Wonder if that is why Sophia has her tongue sticking out hehe!

Paper Pretties hosts challenges every week, if you would like to participate you can find the Paper Pretties challenge forum here. Danielle also included a box template with this challenge which is what I used to create my box .... you can find the template in the PWC35 challenge thread.

Did you know that Paper Pretties is celebrating their 2nd Anniversary on the 25th January! We're going to be celebrating in true Pretties' style and giving away some awesome prizes including a free 6 month subscription, a brand new stamp set that will be released the night of the party & revealing our next Stamp Of the Month early! Stay tuned for details - you WON'T want to miss this party!!
