Got Candy?

MFT-Got-Candy-duo-wm

Greetings all! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Another month has just about bitten the dust, which means that there are new stamps going to be released by MFT Stamps shortly. I so love this time of the month!

Today the MFT Stamps Design Team start the beginning of our MFTeasers featuring the “I want Candy” stamp set. This set will be released this coming Wednesday 3rd March.

As you can see I made to things with this stamps set, a card and a box to fill up with candy …. yummmmmmm! Pity I can’t eat them, I am really trying to be good here and lose some weight!

MFT-Got-Candy-wm

First up my card …… I stamped one of the sentiments onto an oval shape cut out using the petite ovals nestabilities. The two candies were stamped onto some of the designer paper that I used for the top portion of my card, to make it look like fun candy wrappers. I attached these to the left side of the oval piece using foam tape.

MFT-Got-Candy-2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, this is another of the sentiments included in the set!

MFT-Got-Candy-Basket1-wm

And finally my basket ready to fill with yummy candies … mine has chocolates in it. I decorated the oval piece exactly as I did the card above. I created two bows to decorate the side of the box covering the handle.

Before you go .... don't forget this month's MFT Stamps Guest Designer Challenge. This month the challenge is to incorporate vintage book text or sheet music into your creations. Challenge entries will be due Tuesday, March 2, by 10 pm EST. To be considered, upload to SCS using keyword: MFTGUESTDT0310. The winner will be announced in the release party thread on March 3rd by 8:45 p.m. EST.

Want to see more projects created using this stamp set??? Then don’t forget to visit Kim’s blog any time after 11AM EST to get the list of which Design Team members are also featuring this set on their blogs today.

Totally Textured!

C4C-Totally-Textured-wm

Hi all!

It’s time for another challenge with my “Crazy” friends over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week Robin Willis our challenge hostess for February has another fun challenge in store for us this week.

We had to create a card/project using at least 3 different textures. You can use three different embossing folders or you can mix things up and use various types of textures (i.e. dry embossing, wet embossing, textured papers, etc) They just needs to be 3 distinctly different textures on your creation.

Our sponsor for this week is Totally Stampalicious

hawgbloglink

For my card today I used Totally Stampalicious’ “Glam Kitty”. For the texture requirement of the challenge I added the following:

  • It’s hard to tell in the photo, however the designer paper used on the dress has embossing on it.
  • Two stripes across the card are both embossed using cuttlebug embossing folder
  • The brads are furry … actually brown fur so I used my copic airbrush to turn them black
  • Star border punch also gives a textured feel
  • Black Grosgrain Ribbon is textured
  • Red Button also is textured

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Paper: White; Black; Red; Shaken Not Stirred DP – Kaisercraft

Hi everyone,

I have another “Pretties Peek” to share with you all today, in readiness of the Paper Pretties March release. The new stamp sets and digital stamps will be available to purchase on Monday 1st March.

My card today uses the new “Ahoy Matey” stamp set … this is a perfect set to create cards of baby boys! I had such fun playing with this set.

The layout of my card using a sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch challenge (Mojo125), I will definitely be using this sketch again!!

PP-Ahoy-Matey2-wm

As you can see I also decorated the inside of my card, copying the layout from the outside. Both the sentiments used on the inside are normally one line, however I cut my stamps up so I could stamp them in two lines … I love being able to do this.

If you want to see more Prettie Peeks today, head on over to Kristy Ketterlin blog as she will be posting something also sometime today.

Make The Grade!

CCEE1008-Makegrade-wm

Hi everyone,

How is your day going so far?? Good I am hoping! My card today is for the challenge I do with a group of friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Charlene Merrick our challenge hostess for February has another fabulous challenge for us. This time round it is a Color Challenge, we had to us the colors Ruby Red, Caramel, Black and one neutral (white or ivory), we also had to incorporate dry embossed DP.

For my card I used MFT Stamps “Pure Innocence You Make The Grade” stamp set! I can never get enough of the Pure Innocence range! After coloring the blackboard with my dark grey copic marker, I then sponged on a little bit of white brilliance ink to make it look like chalk dust. I used my plaid cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the caramel background layer which I also sponged over with caramel ink. I also paper pieced the little girls sweater using the same design paper that I used on the circle layers.

CCEE1008-Makegrade2-wm Inside my card I used EK Success’ ABC Border punch to create the punched border. The sentiment is from the “You Make The Grade” stamp set that I used for the front of my card.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Hi everyone,

This week the challenge is hosted by Heather Lee-Reppen. Heather’s challenge is “Embossing”. We had to use any type of embossing heat or dry embossing somewhere on our card.

I used one of the Spellbinders Impressions plates to emboss the olive circle at the side of my card.

The stamps I used for my card this week are “Apple Of My Eye” and “Apple Of My Eye Scripture” which are both the stamp sets that are on special this week … 20% off!

The layout of my card is a recent SFYTT sketch from 13th February.

I’m Sorry!

PP-Im-Sorry-Cooper-wm

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our Prettie Peeks for Paper Pretties March Release! The new stamp sets and digital stamps will be available to purchase on Monday 1st March. Check out the rest of the Design Teams blogs this week for more sneak peeks.

My card today uses one of the three new digi stamps that Paper Pretties will be releasing. This one is called “I’m Sorry Cooper”.  I am not sure what he has done to warrant that face … but I think he has been up to some sort of mischief for sure hehe! I just love him!

One of the fun things about digi stamps is that you can print out the image any size you want depending on what you want to do with it. So big, small or even in between it is entirely up to you, sometimes you want to use an image for a card for whatever reason and you discover the image is either too big or small for what you want to do with it …. arghhhhh. With digi stamps that problem is solved!

I used Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge (TESC100) for the layout of my card.

If you want to see more Prettie Peeks today, head on over to Kristy Ketterlin & Julie Masse blogs as they will both be posting something also.

Stamps: I’m Sorry Cooper Digi Stamps – Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Black; Bright Blue; DP
Other: Circle Nestabilities; Star Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; MS Star Border Punch; Pearls; Foam Tape; Copics

Rebus – Name of Bird Species!

Feb10-Rebus---Bird-Species

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another of my rebus postcards I create each month for a rebus swap I do with a few friends of mine.

In case you have been wondering, this all started years back when I first purchased a rebus stamp set from Stampin’ Up …. after I had the stamps I had to figure out what to do with them and my swap was created with a few like minded stampers. Well of course my rebus collection has grown from that one set of stamps.

The theme of our rebus this month is “Name of a Bird Species”.

If you would like to try to solve it, why not post a comment to this blog post with your answers. I will let you know what the correct answers are next time I post a rebus card here.

Now for the solutions of last months rebus which was “I” Words:

  • Ideas
  • Indoors
  • Incentive
  • Icelander
  • Identical
  • Income

How did you go???????

You can find all my past rebus cards here.

Is It A Girl or A Boy!

alota-baby-shower-wm

Hi everyone,

A very good friend of mine has a daughter who is having a baby this year. My friend will be a Grandma for the very first time … just like me! She pips me at the post by a couple of months!

Anyway I needed to create a card to take to the baby shower they were having for her daughter and this is the card I created to give to her.

The parents decided they wanted a surprise so they don’t know as yet whether they are expecting a baby girl or a boy, so I used neutral colors for my card.

The images used on my card are from Alota Rubber stamps, these include the Crib; Baby Doll Delayna Diane and sentiment on the outside of the card.

The crib has been paper pieced using various different designer papers and card.

Here is the inside of my card … both punches used on this card are from EK Success.

Stamps: Crib, Baby Doll Delayna Diane; It’s A Girl; It’s A Boy – Alota Rubber Stamps; Sentiment inside card – Penny Black
