Every Single Time!

CCEE1113-SlitCard-wm

Hi everyone,

Well another Thursday has come around which means it is challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Today Joanne Grzelak, brings us her last challenge for this month.

Joanne challenged us to …………….

BUTTONS, BUCKLES, BOWS, BRADS.....NOT!!!!!
We CANNOT use any of these embellishment, whether faux or real!!! Now is that tough or what …. I am always using buttons and bows, and brads yikes!!!!

Well we may not be able to use those items …. but Joanne didn’t say we couldn’t use pearls, bling, dies etc so of course I used those instead …. thank goodness for alternatives!

For my card I used MFT Stamps Fred Bear - Oopsie Daisies, I just adore the Fred Bear stamps! I also added MFT’s Die-namics Butterflies die and also the Die-namics Flower Border.

My card looks fairly simple for me …. no layers! That is because of the type of card I decided to make which is called a Slit Latch card. If you look at the bottom of my card you will notice that the sentiment on the bottom of my card was actually stamped on the inside of my card and by cutting slits into the bottom of my card it now appears on the outside of my card.

CCEE1113-SlitCard2-wm

Here you can see the inside of my card and you can see both sentiments the one at the top which is layered onto the Die-namics Layered Label Die and the sentiment at the bottom which if you look at the top photo can be seen when the card is closed.

Here is a close up of the bottom of my card. To create the slits in the bottom, you need to find the centre of the card and make a mark approx 1 1/4 inches up then cut your slit on the top from the centre mark to the bottom right hand corner and then on the inside of you card from the centre mark to the bottom left hand corner. Easy!

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Triangle Star Card

Floral-StarCard-wm

Hi everyone,

Recently while checking the blog updates on my Google Reader I came across a blog called Mariannes Papirverden and she was showing a Triangle Star card that she had created.

I am calling it a Triangle Star card because the star is made using a triangle shape and all the points are triangles and there are already a number of cards out there which are called Star cards so I figure this will distinguish this one from the others a bit better. I can be so confusing when one card has the same name as another.

I loved the idea so much that I had to make one, I actually ended up making two and this was the second one. I will be sharing my first one in a week or two’s time. These are really easy to make and all you need to start is a piece of card that is 12 x 12 or 30cm square.

Floral-StarCard2-wm

Here is a side on view of my card. I made this one for a group of friends to recreate for our project for a club I attended last Friday. It was my turn to select a project for us all to make.

Here you can see the inside of my card.

A Rebus Birthday Card

Rebus-HappyBday-wm

Hi everyone,

As many of you who follow my blog are aware, each month I participate in a rebus swap with a couple of my friends and I upload my rebus which is normally a piece of card with a lot of different rebus’ to a particular theme.

Last year Holly McMillen was inspired by my rebus swap to host a challenge based on rebus to create cards. I had such fun doing her challenge, that this year we decided to add a couple of rebus cards to the schedule of our rebus swap for something different.

This month was our first time to make a card that uses rebus and the theme was …. birthday cards. I think you can easily work out what my card says Smile.

Season’s Greetings!

CCEE1112-SeasonsGreetings-w

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our hostess Joanne Grzelak. Joanne informs us that it is 9 months until Christmas so our challenge today was to create a Christmas card ……..arghhhhhhhh! Already!!!!!!!!

I normally don’t make a start on my Christmas cards until at least July, so this is a very early start for me.

For my card I used MFT Stamps Wrapped in Love stamp set. The sentiments used are both from the Merry & Bright Stamp set. I paper pieced the girls dress and all the presents she is holding. I also stitched around all layers of my card. I also added some Maraschino Red Twine around the centre of my card.

CCEE1112-SeasonsGreetings2-

Here is the inside of my card. I used two of MFT Die-namics which are Die-namics Layered Label Die and Die-namics Simply Scallops.

Hippity Hoppity Easter’s On It’s Way!

PWC143-Hippity-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge over on the Paper Pretties Blog. This week we were challenged to use Spring as the inspiration for our card.

Technically it isn’t Spring down here in Australia when Easter occurs, but Autumn. But seeing it is Spring up in the Northern Hemisphere I figured I would pull out my Paper Pretties Hippity Hoppity Sophia stamp set.

I started my card by layer on some blue designer paper and then some green designer paper. The green designer was cut into a curve and then I used my sewing machine to add zigzag stitching to the edge of each layer.

The tree was printed and cut using my Imagine Cricut machine and the Nursery Tails Cartridge. The flowers were created using a Martha Stewart Border Punch.

Want to play along with us:

How to Enter: If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project using the above challenge and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword PWC146.

Don’t forget to include a link to your card on the Paper Pretties Blog, so everyone can see it too. You don’t have to use Paper Pretties stamps to play, but of course if you have them we would love to see you use them.
