Dance With Your Heart!

Jenigami Ballerina wm

Hi everyone,

My card today uses a technique known as slice form. This is a technique I have been interested in for many years although it has been some time since I have done any. My first slice form cards used stamps from a company called Some Assembly Required, where you had to first stamp out all the pieces, cut and then assemble. This was a pretty time consuming task, but I loved the end results, you can see some of my older projects here. That is just a small sample of what I have done as most of my slice form projects were prior to me having a blog.

After rubber stamps, some of the designs were done in die form, which was a lot quicker but still time consuming as you had to cut multiple pieces from the same die.

Well recently my friend (who also loves slice form) and I discovered a web site called Jenigami, that sold  slice form designs in various formats including SVG format to use with an electronic cutter like the Sizzix Eclips etc. We also noticed she had an awesome special so we both ordered her CD.

Here is the first project I did using one of the slice form projects on her CD, the ballerina, you can see her skirt is 3D.

The good thing about this technique is that you get the 3D look,, but they fold flat for mailing. Here you can see my card closed and flat ready to be mail.
