You’re A Hoot!

PNC-ClearSassyOwl1-wm

Hi everyone,

As promised yesterday I am back today with another card for Karen Burniston’s Designer Challenge, the theme for October is CLEAR CREATIONS (aka Defying Gravity).

I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to create an Accordion Dies or Pop N Cuts dies for the challenge this time round … so I used both and made two cards. If you missed my accordion card that I created and posted on my blog yesterday scroll down to the next post.

As I mentioned above …. I wanted to create a Pop N Cuts card for this challenge and as I had the new dies from Karen Burniston's new Snippets Collection which was released by Sizzix earlier in the month of course I had to play with some of these dies.

To start of I used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Square Card with Ornate Edge and also the new Sizzix Pop N Cuts Sassy Labels Insert to die cut the inside piece using acetate. I then used the new Sassy Embossing Folder from the Sizzix Sassy & Circle Labels Set, to emboss over the label pop up portion and the back of the acetate. You can see a close up of this in the photo above. I love the fun edge it gives to the sassy label pop up piece and the background too.

The acetate Pop N Cuts piece was then attached to the blue outer card which was also die cut using the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Square Card with Ornate Edge.

I decorated the inside of my card using the Sizzix Chevron Border Sizzlits at the top of my card.

At the bottom I used one of the borders from the Sizzix Banners & Borders Thinlits set.

The sentiment was stamped onto card cut using the Sizzix Sassy Labels & Stitched Frames Framelits set. Love how the stitching can be optional when using these dies.

And of course on the pop up panel I added an owl from Art Impressions.

Here is the front of my card. I have again used the border that I used on the inside on my designer paper panel which is from the Sizzix Banners & Borders Thinlits set.

I also used the Sizzix Labels & Stitched Frames Framelits set again for my sentiment.

If you are looking to purchase Karen’s Sizzix Pop N Cuts in Australia you can find them at Photo Continental.

Don’t forget to check out the Sizzix blog on Thursday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Oh my I love everything about this card! The owl is too cute, the embossing on the acetate, the color scheme and the Banners & Borders die really make the card.
