Newlyweds!

TE-Wedding-wm

Hi everyone,

My card today is for a challenge I have started doing with a couple for friends of mine this year. Each month we get together and go to our favorite stamp/scrapbook store and come home with one or two new goodies Winking smile. This year we decided to also challenge ourselves each month using a product we all have,

For our challenge this month we all decided we should use one of the new Sizzix Grid Works Dies to create a card or project.

For my card I decided to use the Grid Works (1 3/8 inch Squares) die. This is my favorite of this range of dies so far. This die actually has 9 equal squares on it, but I decided to cover up 4 of the squares in the top right hand corner with a larger square containing the image. This stamp is Taylored Expressions Lifetime of Love stamp set and I have been wanting to get it for a while now and finally got around to ordering it a few weeks ago. I need a few wedding cards this year so this is the start of them.

For the inside of my card I added a sentiment also included in the Taylored Expressions stamp set and the love die from MFT Stamps.

Stamps: Lifetime of Love – Taylored Expressions
Paper: White; Black; Red; Head Over Heels DP – Bo Bunny
Other: Black Ink; Sizzix Grid Works (1 3/8” Squares); MFT Die-namics Transform-ables Heart Full of Love; MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags Stax 1 & 2: Black Candy Dots; Foam Tape; Copics

Chocolate!

CCEE1409Chocolate1-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Vicky Gould our challenge hostess for February finishes off the month with another fun challenges.

Today is Vicky’s 70th birthday…. Happy Birthday Vicky!!!!! One of her favorite things is chocolate. Let’s see some chocolate on your cards…you can use chocolate images, cocoa, Chocolate Chip paper…anything representing chocolate…the more chocolate; the better!

I think you would agree that there is plenty of chocolate on my card LOL … I have it on the two sentiments … the image, the designer paper and the card … I think Vicky will approve Winking smile.

CCEE1409Chocolate2-wm

As you can see I have created a pop up card this week using the Pop It Ups Lucy Label Pop-Up die set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. I am loving these new dies and love that you can make your card any size you like and position the pop up wherever you want on the card. For this one of course I kept the pop up central.

I used a stamp set from Art Impressions for the image/sentiment used on the inside, these are both from the Love Chocolate stamp set. The pink striped designer paper on the base of my pop up has a “label’ near the bottom of the card … I kept this blank as I thought this might be a good place to write a message to whoever this card is going to.

CCEE1409Chocolate3-wm

Here is a side on view of my pop up card so you can see a little better the pop up portion of the card.

CCEE1409Chocolate-wm

And finally the front of my card I kept this fairly simple seeing the inside of the card is the feature … keeping the same color combo as on the inside. I have also added another sentiment from Art Impressions … love those sentiments! This time round I used the labels from the Katie Label Pivot Card die set for the sentiments.

Be sure to "like" Karen's Karen Burniston Designer Facebook Page. Each day Karen links all the Pop It Ups ideas that she finds out there online, so you get lots of inspiration using her amazing dies. If you Like and Share by March 3rd you just might win a prize.

    Old Friends ….

    FancyStandUpCeleste-wm

    Hi everyone,

Today I am playing with one of my Sizzix Stand-Ups dies .. this is the Fancy Label Stand-Ups card.
For this card I used Art Impressions Celeste which a friend of mine picked up for me while she was on a shopping trip on holiday last year. I used an older Ann-ticipations stamp for the sentiment which I stamped in two parts.

I paper pieced the couch using designer paper.

Here is another view of my card at an angle so you can see how the card operated.

    Haute Couture

    CHF47HauteCouture2-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog . This week the challenge is hosted by Kristine.

Kristine has challenged us to create a card or project using a favorite Die or punch …. of course I had to pull out one of my Karen Burniston Pop It Ups dies Smile.

For my card today I have used Cornish Heritage Farms Haute Couture stamp set and French Script Backgrounder stamp.

As you can see I decided to create another Accordion card using the Oval Accordion Die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Design. This time round I decorated the frames of my card using designer paper. To do this I die cut 3 more frames from designer paper, cut out the oval centre and adhered them to my accordion card on the inside and front.

    Tennis Anyone?

    TennisLotsPops1-wm

    Hi everyone,

Before I get onto today's blog post I have some exciting news to share with you all. Elizabeth Craft Designs has just announced their first ever Design Team over on their Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog and I am on the team! Lots of talented ladies on that team!

Yesterday I posted a Pop Up Card for my friends birthday which featured designer paper. As I mentioned in the post, the paper also had a lady holding a tennis racket in her hand standing next to the golfer. As I didn’t need the tennis player I cut the paper in between them both. Well for my card today, I am using the left over paper from yesterdays card.

    TennisLotsPops2-wm

This Pop Up card is a skinny card measuring approx. 3 3/4inches wide (9cm).  That is one of the great things about Karen Burniston’s new Pop It Ups die range that she created for Elizabeth Crafts Designs, you can create whatever size card you like. For my card today I have used the Lots of Pops Die set.

    TennisLotsPops3-wm

Along the top edge of my card I used the Agatha Edges die set to create the shaped edge and the flourish underneath it.

    TennisLotsPops4-wm

Here is a close up of the bottom section of my card and the designer paper I used to create this card.

    TennisLotsPops-wm

Let’s not forget the front of my card Smile … for this I used the reverse side of the designer paper. You can see how this pattern matches the pattern on the tennis players dress. I have also used two of the label dies from the Katie Label  Pivot Card die set to create the layers for the sentiment. I have kept the front very simple as the focus is of course on the inside.

    Tee-rific Birthday!

    MaryannBday-wm

    Hi everyone,

Today I have a card I made for a very good friend of mine who celebrated her birthday last week. My friends love playing golf and for as long as I can remember I have made a golf themed card to give her as her birthday card.

Normally I would use a new golf themed stamp that I have purchased sometime during the past year (and I have one or two still needing to be inked). But this year my card was inspired by some designer paper I found on one of our recent shopping trips. This designer paper actually has a tennis player standing to the left of the golfing lady, but as I only needed the golfer I trimmed the other lady off … this can still be used to create a skinny pop up card later if I want.

    MaryannBday2-wm

As you can see I have created another pop up card (my friend would be expecting me to use one of the new dies from the Pop It Ups range. This card uses the Lucy Label Pop-Up card die set ; Lots of Pops Pop-Up card die set and the Agatha Edges die set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs.

    MaryannBday3-wm

I used the Lucy Label Pop-Up Card die for the main pop up section of this card … and as you can see I placed the die so it was towards the right of my card … that is the fun thing about these new Pop It Ups dies, you can make your card any size you like and position the die anywhere you like on the fold of the card. The two sentiments use the labels also from the Lucy Label Pop-Up Card die set.

The banner and poles are from the Lots of Pops Pop-Up Card dies set. This set also has two tiny slot dies, I used one of these to create a slot on the pop up section so that the pole on the right could be place through the slot.

    MaryannBday5-wm

I used one of the edges from the Agatha Edges die set to shape the top of my card and then added the flourish which is also included in this die set … I also added another small flourish in the lower right corner of the base of the card.

    MaryannBday1-wm

Here is the front of my card. I used  Paper Pretties Live, Laugh, Golf stamp set for the image and all the sentiments on this card. I did have newer golf sets I wanted to use but I think this one worked better with the golfer on the designer paper.

    Get Ready To Rock!

    C4C224RockOn-wm

    Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Kristine Reynolds our challenge hostess for February finishes off the month with another fun challenge.

Today’s project can be inspired by a song, an artist, an instrument, music notes, whatever “music inspiration” means to you.

I had a few options I could have gone with for this challenge, but I decided to use a couple of Kanban stamp sets that I purchased a few years ago and have only used one of the stamps in the sets for one card. I was going to make a “normal” card … but my Katie Label Pivot Card die set (designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs) was calling me! And I have to say I am glad I did as I love how this card turned out.

    C4C224RockOn2-wm

I used heavy weight designer paper for my card base, scoring the lower section of the designer paper and folding that up so that the pattern on the front of my card was also on the lower section of the inside of my card. I positioned the Katie Label Pivot Card Die so it would cut on the upper portion of the card. I also die cut the Katie Label Pivot Card die again using orange card and trimmed off just the labels and adhered this to the patterned paper pivot section.

    C4C224RockOn3-wm

I used the label dies from the Katie Label Pivot Card die set for the layering of my sentiments.

I also added some die cut music notes around my card and some glittered stars which I die cut from white glitter card and then colored with my copics. The star under the guitar handle that the bear is holding is there so that the handle can’t be seen when the card is closed…. there is another the same on the front of my card as you can see in the photo at the top of the post. I also added some more glittered stars on the front of my card.

    C4C224RockOn4-wm

Here is a closer look of the right hand side of my pivot card…. these are such fun cards to create!

    C4C224RockOn5-wm

And finally a view of the back of my card … fairly plain … but definitely a lot prettier than most backs of cards are Winking smile.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
