SOGBirthdayBlockCard-wm

Hi everyone,

I am still having fun playing around creating block cards. Today I plan to share how to create this style of card with a couple of friends that I visit each month.

To see my other block cards I have created you can find them using this link.

The Rainbow of Life ….

CCEE1405Umbrella1-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess for January Sabrina Friel finishes off the month with another fun challenge.

This week Sabrina tells us that where she lives in Ireland it rains at this time of year. A lot. Umbrellas are very important. Bonus points if you also bring good raingear along :D, but sunshades and beach umbrellas are also perfectly suitable for the challenge.

CCEE1405Umbrella-wm

For my card today I decided to create a Centre Step card using my Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card Template die. For my image I used Stampavie’s Lily & Milo Rainy Day.

CCEE1405Umbrella2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, the sentiments used on this card are from MFT Stamps.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    Happy 29th BDay … Again!

    29AgainAccordion-wm

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing an Accordion card I created using the awesome new “Pop It Ups” range of dies designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs.

For my card today I used the Circle Accordion card. I have always enjoyed making accordion cards as I have Pop Up cards, but I so love that we now have different options on the Accordion cards we make. Karen has designed Circle, Oval and Fancy Labels Accordion dies and they all are fun to create.

To create this accordion card I die cut the accordion die three times from pink card.

    29AgainAccordion4-wm

After die cutting my pink accordion panels I decorated each panel. For the first panel on the left I used designer paper to die cut another accordion panel using the accordion die, cut of the tab and adhered that to my panel.

For the middle panel after die cutting the pink panel I then put the die back through my big shot but using my embossing sandwich so that I could emboss the stitching that is included on the die. This only shows if you emboss it which gives you more options when decorating Smile. Once I had embossed the stitched I kept the die in place and sponged ink over the stitching.

    29AgainAccordion5-wm

For the panel on the right I used the solid die from the Square W/Circle Frame Edges. This is a set of 3 different dies which can be used to decorate your accordion panels. When you die cut 4 of the same die you are able to create a square frame like I have on this piece.

For the two end circles in the centre I die cut the accordion die using white card and then trimmed off the pieces that attaches it to the frame and layered those to the circle on my accordion card.

For the centre circle I used other dies from the Accordion Circles die to create the layers.

    29AgainAccordion1-wm

Here is my accordion card viewed from the front. On this panel I have used the Square W/Circle Frame Edges again, this time using the flourish edge to create my panel.

    29AgainAccordion2-wm

And one final look at the front of my card this time when it is completely closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

    I Dig You!

    CHF45-DigYou-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog . This week the challenge is hosted by Kristine Reynolds.

For our challenge this week Kristine has given us a Valentines/Love theme.

For my card this week I have used Cornish Heritage Farms The Latest Dirt Digital Stamp and I Dig You! Word Digital Stamp.

    CHF45-DigYou2-wm

Before printing out my digi  stamp, I erased the wording which comes with the digi stamp and substituted the “I Dig You! wording instead … it can be fun to play around with digital stamps.

I created a stand-ups card using the Sizzix Circle Stand-ups die … these are so fun to make.

    CHF45-DigYou3-wm

Here is my card all folded flat for mailing.

    A Pirate’s Life!

    Pirate's-Life-wm

    Hi everyone,

I am back again today with another pop up card using the fabulous new Pop It Ups dies designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. I can’t stop playing with these dies!

    Pirate's-Life2-wm

This time round I have used the Pop It Ups Lots of Pops Pop-Up die to create this card. This die gives you pop up panels you can use if you want but for this card I just used two of them leaving the two side ones flat.

    Pirate's-Life4-wm

I love collecting pirate stamps … I have a few! So when I saw this stamp set from MFT Stamps I had to add it in my cart … oops! I stamped the image onto white card and then cut it out so I could pop it out. In the front pop up I added some waves. I also added the anchor to the pirate ship and some seagulls in the sky.

To create the shape at the top of my card I used one of the edges from the Agatha Edges die set … I love creating shaped edges!

    Pirate's-Life4a-wm

On the base of my card I stamped some fish also included in the pirate stamp set and added a sentiment using the label dies from the Katie Label Pivot Card set.

Along the bottom edge of my card I added a flourish using the Agatha Edges die.

    Pirate's-Life3-wm

Here is another view of my card this time at an angel so you can see the pop up pieces.

    Pirate's-Life5-wm

Here is another peek at the pop up pieces of my card. As you can see I have colored another piece of card the same as my ship and placed that on the middle pop up piece so that it looks like the deck of the ship. I then placed two of the pirates and the treasure chest onto this piece. You can see them if you sneak a peek from the front of the card through the ships sails or by turning the card at an angle like we have here.

    Pirate's-Life1-wm

And finally here is the front of my card. I used some designer paper for the red panel. I added a black outline to the shaped piece at the bottom by cutting the Agatha Edge die once from black card and then moving the die down just a little to get a border, this is a little fiddly but I like the end result.

I added a white panel across the card adding the birthday sentiment and the two little pirates that are all included in the stamp set. Hopefully someone will forgive me for forgetting their birthday if I give them this card Smile.

    Lots of Pops Pop Up

    Happy Australia Day!

    AussieGardenBench6-wm

Hi everyone and to all my Australian readers Happy Australia Day!

I have another pop up card to share with you today using the fabulous new Pop It Ups dies designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. I am just loving these new dies and having so much fun playing with them!

    AussieGardenBench-wm

This card uses the Pop It Ups Garden Bench Pop-Up die … isn’t this such a fun die! For the top of my card I used one of the dies from the Agatha Edges set … the flourish at the bottom of my card is also included in this set. I love that I can create fancy edges to my cards.

The tree at the back of my card was created using Karen’s All Season’s Tree die, for foliage I used the cloud dies which double as both clouds and foliage for the tree. The set also includes three different leaves so you have lots of options decorating the tree.

    AussieGardenBench3-wm

Here is another view of the inside of my card so you can see the pop up portion better.

    AussieGardenBench5-wm

The other day while I was shopping with a couple of friends at our local stamp/scrapbook store I found this fun stamp set from Lawn Fawn, so I thought it would be fun to create an Aussie theme pop card today…. very appropriate seeing today is Australia Day!

I used the tiny slit die from the Lucy Label Pop-Up die to create a slot at the base of my card in  front of the bench so I could stand the Kangaroo up. This is so much easier than having to use a craft knife which is what I used to do. Karen definitely thought of everything we might need when she designed these dies for us all.

    AussieGardenBench4-wm

Here you can see the base of my pop up card. I added a greeting to my card using one of the labels from the Katie Label Pivot Card die set.

    AussieGardenBench1-wm

Here is the front of my card. I added the Koala image to my card layering it onto one of the ovals and the stitching die from the Ovals Accordion Card die set. The stitching is a separate die so you have options as to whether you use it or not.

    AussieGardenBench2-wm

And one last photo of my card this time fully closed ready to be placed in an envelope. You see just a touch of the base of the inside of the card.
