Rain or Shine

Riley0914MayFlowers-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This time round it is Heather’s turn to host the challenge.

Heather says …. April showers bring May flowers...make a card using the colors blue and yellow to represent the rain and daffodils of spring.

For my card this week I have used Riley and Company’s Rainy Day Riley.

The Riley image represents the April Showers, so for the May Flowers I decided to use MFT Die-namics Floral Fusion Cover-Up which I die cut in blue and then added yellow pearls to the centre of the flowers to get my blue and yellow part of the challenge.

Snow Much Fun!

ECDWhiteonWhite2-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for our April Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog on Wednesday 8AM MST when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Our theme this month is …. "Elegant and White". So the challenge is to create an elegant project in the color white. (or off-white and you are free to use gold and silver details).

I love white on white cards, although I must admit the only time I end up making them is when someone gives them as a challenge. I am not sure why I don’t do them more often as they are lots of fun.

For my card today I decided to combine the Circle Accordion Card and the Fancy Label Accordion Card again to create my accordion card … if you look at the centre page it uses a different shape to the two outer pages.

ECDWhiteonWhite3-wm

When I was trying to figure out what to do for this challenge I looked though all my Elizabeth Craft Design dies I have a found my Snowflakes Die which I thought would be perfect for this card.

To create the two large snowflakes on the end circles I die cut my snowflakes using Double Sided Adhesive Paper and added White Silk Microfine Glitter over each of the three snowflakes. I then layered them using foam tape and added a Gold/Silver Glitter Dot to the center.

Before adding the snowflake to the centre circle I die cut a circle/fancy label from White Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz and then embossed this using the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder.

ECDWhiteonWhite4-wm

Around each of the outer edges of the accordion pages I added frames using the Square with Circle Frame Edges for the circle pages and Fancy Frame Edges for the Fancy Label page.

For the centre page I added a sentiment using silver ink.

To finish off the card I added small snowflakes randomly around the frames. For these snowflakes I used Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

ECDWhiteonWhite-wm

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Don’t forget to check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog on Wednesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Dance In The Rain

C4C233AprilShowers2-wm

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Our challenge hostess for April, Joanne Grzelak finishes off the month with another fun challenge.

Our challenge this week is …. Rain showers - It is said that ‘April showers bring May flowers”, so let’s show both. Have flowers and rain be a part of your card/project in some way. Remember -- the sentiment counts too.

For my card this week I created an accordion card using the Oval Accordion Card set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. Earlier this year I purchased this cute stamp from CC Designs … which I just had to use for todays challenge.

On the right hand side panel with the sentiment I added some flowers which are die cut using Elizabeth Craft Designs Bunch of Flowers 2 die, Curvy Leaves die and Pink Shimmer Sheetz.

C4C233AprilShowers-wm

Here is my card again, this time from the front when it is closed. As you can see I added more flowers to two of the corners using the Bunch of Flowers 2 die, Curvy Leaves die and Pink Shimmer Sheetz.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Glittered Koi

    ECD-Koi-wm

    Hi everyone,

It is my turn to post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. Hop on over to the blog to find out how I create my card … I have step by step instructions which you can find here.

This time round I decided to play with Elizabeth Craft Designs Koi die and some of their colored Silk Microfine Glitters. I have been wanting to play with this technique ever since I saw Els demoing something similar at our craft show last month.

    ECD-Koi2-wm
As you know I normally like to do something in the inside of my card so it is all finished ready to be used or given away whatever the case may be. This time round I inlayed the greeting into the white card.

Dies: Koi; Happy Birthday(738) – Elizabeth Craft Designs
Paper: White; Black; Rust; ECD Adhesive Paper

    Friends Share Everything

    CCEE1417Umbrella1-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kathy our challenge hostess for April brings us her final challenge for the month.

This week our challenge is … April Showers (What does April Showers mean to you, i.e., flowers, weeds, mowing, sun, warmer temperatures, etc.)?

So when I thought about this question I thought about the obvious brings May flowers … I have flowers on the base of the inside of my card. Of course rain also makes that grass grow taller so it has to be mown again … so I include tall grass. If you are going out in the rain you might need an umbrella so you don’t get wet … so I have umbrellas on my designer paper on the outside and the girls huddled under the umbrella on the inside. And of course the rain … the designer paper on the upright part on the inside.

    CCEE1417Umbrella-wm

Here is the front of my card … I used umbrella designer paper, tall grass die and the quote for the sentiment.

    CCEE1417Umbrella2-wm

As you can see I have created a pop up card using the Lucy Label Pop-Up set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. For this card I only used the label part of the pop up leaving the smaller pop up at the top of the platform down.

Earlier this year I purchased the Art Impressions Under My Umbrellas Girlfriends stamp set, which of course I had to use on this card … I guess if you  only have one umbrella you would have to share right!

I added some tall grass to the bottom of the card and at the top I used the Paper Smooches Quotables die for my sentiment … love this die. I also added some Gold/Silver Glitter Dots to the Quote bubble.

    CCEE1417Umbrella3-wm

Here is one more look at the inside of my card, this time at an angle so you can see the pop up piece.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    It’s A Girl!

    Elephant-Baby-Card1-wm

    Hi everyone,

I have Baby card to share with you today.

I received a couple of new dies from Paper Smooches the other week and of course I wanted to play … they are both Quote type dies (the Quote Tag on the front and the Quote bubble at the top on the inside).

    Elephant-Baby-Card-wm

Originally I was just going to make a quick baby card using the Quote Tag set and when I looked through my stash on my desk to see what I had that might fit in the open area I spied this cute Kaisercraft Elephant. Well it just so happens that one of the paper pads I recently got also had elephants on it so of course I had to make a baby card.

    Elephant-Baby-Card2-wm

Of course by the time I had finished the outside of my card, the other Quote die was calling to me and my Pop It Up dies are always calling me LOL, so neither could be ignored so I decided to create a pop up card. I used the Lucy Label Pop-Up die set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs.

    Elephant-Baby-Card3-wm

At the bottom edge of my card I added a panel cut using the Agatha Edges die and also the flourish from the same set.

Stamps: Elephant – Kaisercraft; Rectangle Greetings – Gina K
Paper: White; Pink; Dark Pink; You Are My Happy DP – Teresa Collins
Dies: Lucy Label Pop-Up; Agatha Edges designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs; Quote Tags; Quotables – Paper Smooches; Baby Phrase – PTI; It’s A Boy/Girl – Cheery Lynn Designs
Other: Black Ink; Pink Twine; Button; Foam Tape; Copics

    Hi everyone,

Over the past few months they have been busy moving all the craft area of the store from upstairs to the new area downstairs which gives them even more room to stock all our favorite products.

    ECDTombowBear-wm

    Hi everyone,

    Blog Hop_ECD_2[6]

There is also a prize to win! What to do? To be eligible to win, please comment on each of the designers projects  and don't forget to "Like" the TombowUSA and "Like" Elizabeth Craft Designs Facebook pages!

Tombow will announce a winner on Monday April 21st at 3:30 P.M. EST.

Here is what you  could win:

    Elizabeth Craft Designs:

    Tombow:
    Xtreme Adhesive
Dual Brush Pen Set, 10 Retro

    ECDTombowBear2-wm

For my card today I created a Pivot card using the Katie Label Pivot Card die designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs along with some Cute Bears Peel-Off Stickers also from Elizabeth Craft Designs and Towbow Markers and Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.

    ECDTombowBear6a-wm

To create my card I removed the liner from a sheet of Elizabeth Craft Designs Adhesive Paper and set that aside. I then attached the adhesive to some card. I took the liner paper I put aside and used this to place my Peel-Off Sticker Bears, Bees and Flowers sticky side up. Once these were in place I removed the remaining liner paper from my adhesive sheet and placed that on to off the peel-off stickers.

Remove the top liner again and cover the images with Warm Diamond Silke Microfine Glitter also from ECD. Don’t forget to polish the glitter into the adhesive. You can see a video Els created using this technique here.

    ECDTombowBear6-wm

Next we are ready to color in the images. For my images I used Tombow’s Dual Brush Pens from the Secondary Palette set along with their blender kit. I scribble the colors I wanted to use onto the blending board which comes in the blending kit and then used my Tombow blending pen to transfer the color onto my glittered bears. You can see how you can get different shades using this technique … the pads of the bears paws, and the flower are all colored using the same marker .. 856 from this set.

                               ECDTombowBear6c-wmECDTombowBear6d-wm

One thing to remember when using Tombows with glitter is to allow time for them to dry. The effect is worth the wait!

    ECDTombowBear3-wm

I used the flourish from the Agatha Edges die set to create the flourish on the left side of the card. I used digital sentiments and the label dies from the Katie Label Pivot Card set to decorate the pivot section of my card.

    ECDTombowBear4-wm

Finally I added the bear, bees and flowers.

    ECDTombowBear1-wm

And here is the front of my card, as you can see I added another of the Towbow Colored Glittered Peel-Off Sticker Bears (try saying that fast!).

    Shake Your Booty!

    C4C232DiscoShake1-wm

    Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Our challenge hostess for April, Joanne Grzelak continues to bring us our challenges.

    C4C232

Being the third Saturday of the month, it’s time for a sketch challenge and Joanne has given us a great sketch to play with.

    C4C232DiscoShake-wm

For my card this week I decided to play with Art Impressions Shake Your Booty Disco set … love these fun shake you booty stamps.

    C4C232DiscoShake2-wm

Oh course with this stamp set you need to include the “booty” inside the card so what better way to do that with a pop up card. I have used the Lucy Labels Pop-Up card set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. If you look closely you can see that I turned the pop up portion up side down so that the label is laying flat at the top, which makes a perfect platform for the man’s booty to stand on.

The word “Booty” on the pop up uses the label from the Lots of Pops Pop-Up card set. I also used the Agatha Edges set to create the fancy edge at the top and bottom of my card.

I attached the “booty” to the card using an action wobble so it jiggles when you touch it. Here is a quick YouTube video so you can see the "Booty" wobble.

    C4C232DiscoShake3-wm

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the pop up portion a little better.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
