Soaping Your Birthday is a Splash

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess for March which is Anja de Regt.

For our challenge this week, Anja has asked us to "Put a Bow on it".

As you can see by the photo above, I have added the bow to the front of my card.

I figured this was the perfect opportunity to play with my Bath Pop Stand Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  As the Pop Stand die only creates small holes in the card when die cutting, you can get away with using just the one sheet of card/designer paper and threading some ribbon through the holes in the front and tie a bow. With a normal Pop Up Card you have to insert the inner pop up card into an outer card. Of course you can still do this with this style of card, but it does give you more options.

Along the bottom edges I used one of the dies from the Paris Edges die set and added a Pink/Silver Glitter Border Peel Off Sticker along the bottom of the card.

The bath was die cut from White Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz and the legs and tap for the bath Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.

For my card I decided I wanted to have someone in my bath and I opted for using Bathtime Marci from La La Land Crafts, as I used a digital stamp I was able to mirror the image so I could glue the images back to back so it didn't matter which way you positioned the card you still had something interesting to see.

I added some stamped images of soap and a bath brush which I have had in my stash for years. I also added a couple of "bath' themed sentiments which were layered using the label from the Katie Label Pivot Card set.

Here is another view of my card when it is opened.

For the front of my card, I thread some purple ribbon through the hole which was created when die cutting the Pop Stand portion of the card. I also die cut another of the Paris Edge dies and layered that onto some designer paper. I stamped another bath themed sentiment and die cut this using the Katie Label Accordion Card Accessory dies.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

I love everything about this card! The image is perfect for the Bathtub Pop Stand. The little soap is the perfect addition to the card - as usual you have the perfect stamp.
