Karen Burniston May Designer Challenge Day 3

Hi everyone,

I have one more card to share with you all for this month's Karen Burniston Designer Challenge. This time around the theme for our challenge is BARNS, BARNS, BARNS - Time to show off the new Collins dies with a designer challenge in their honor. The only requirement is that you use the new Barn Pop Stand die. You do not have to use it with the enclosed Pop Stand (if, for instance, you prefer using the barn on a card front or on one of the other PIU dies) and you do not have to style it as a barn.

If you missed my previous two cards for this challenge scroll down to see my last two blog posts where I turned the barn from the Barn Pop Stand Card to a Circus Tent and a Schoolhouse.

For this card I decided to use the barn as a barn, I selected designer paper that looked a little like corrugated metal that might have gone rusty or painted various colors over the years. It reminds me of some big barns/shed I have seen at times. Rather than using it as a Pop Stand Card, I have created a Rectangle Pull Card. I also used Brownie the Cow, Hay There Pop Stand Card and the speech bubble from the Rectangle Accordion Card.

One of the fun things about the Barn is that you can create it so that the doors can be opened or closed. I have them open in the photo above, but in the first photo they are closed.

I also added one of Karen's new sentiments from the Farm Greetings Clear Stamp set. I have also added another cow which is on a spiral so it moves when the card is opening and closing.

If you are looking to purchase Karen's Pop It Ups dies in Australia you can find them at Craft Giraffe (formerly Photo Continental).

Don't forget to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog on Wednesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus an amazing card/video tutorial from Karen Burniston.

What's better than Brownie the Cow and a Rectangle Pull Card? A second Brownie the Cow on a spinner inside the Rectangle Pull Card. :-) Great card Frances.
