Circles

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess, which this time around is ME!

According to the Holiday Insight website, the 2nd November was Look for Circles Day. So for our challenge this week we are to create a card featuring circles …. How many can you include on your card??

Earlier in the year I purchased Simon Says Stamp's Mod Circle Frame die which I figured was perfect for this challenge. I used a variety of teal/aqua colored cardstock to die cut the frame 4 times and one in white. I used the white piece for the frame which I adhered to the front of my card and then inlaid the varies pieces from the other 4 pieces of teal/aqua card.

Once I had finished adding all the circle pieces I then decorated the card with a couple of owls and a sentiment.

If you follow my blog, by now you know I love creating pop up cards. I used the Happy Birthday Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I cut the base of my card from white card and die cut the 'Happy Birthday Pop Up' I then temporarily laid down one of the outline frames from the mod circles frame die onto the base of my card (I made sure to remove some of the sticky from this piece first by adhering it to my clothing first) and then I filled in the circles using the leftover circles I had from doing the front of my card. Once I had done the base of my card I then removed the frame portion and laid this on the top panel and repeating these steps until I had circles all over the inside of the card. A little bit of extra work, but I do like the effect it made.

I then decorated the inside with another couple of owls and a sentiment. For the die cut Happy Birthday and stars I selected colors I used for the background of my card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
