Elizabeth Craft Designs September Designer Challenge

Hi everyone,

It's time for our September Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog today where you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Our challenge this month we are featuring the new dies which have been released recently using any theme we want. We could also mix and match dies from previous releases.

For my card this time around I decided to create a Stand Up Card featuring the new Poinsettia die and the Fitted Frames 3 Curvy Rectangles set together with the Sprig with Berries and Season's Greetings Stand Up Helper dies.

For the Poinsettia's I die cut the solid flower from red card which has Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front and then covered the adhesive with True Red Silk Microfine Glitter.  For the decorative overlay I die cut this from Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz and the centre part from Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.

The sentiment inside the curvy frame on the base of the card is from the Merry & Bright Clear Stamp set designed by Karen Burniston.

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. I have added shading to the leaves and Sprig using the PanPastel Flower Coloring Kit 2.

That's it from me today, thanks for visiting my blog. To see what the other designers created for this challenge don't forget to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog post which goes live 8AM MT.

Level Up

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with the "Crazies" over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Raquel Mason our challenge hostess for September finishes off the month with one last challenge.

September’s Birthstone is the sapphire.  Show me the blue!  Make blue the most prominent color of your card.

When I was going through my designer papers I have in my stash looking for some blue paper to use for my card for this challenge, I came across this space invader themed paper. This reminded me that I had the Game Controller dies and stamp set from MFT Stamps which I hadn't used yet, so I figured it was time to use them.

I created a Pop Up Card using the Lorna Label Pop Up Card set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I added two of the small Game Controllers from the die set and attached them to the top and bottom corners of my card. On the blue rectangle piece underneath the sentiment I added a few more dots so it would also resemble controls.

Here is another view of my card so you can see the Pop Up portion of the card.

On the front of my card I added the large Game Controller and a sentiment. On all the colored controls of the Game Controllers I applied Glossy Accents.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I created using the new Gift Card Accordion and Flourish Gift Frame designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. These dies will be available in late October. For my card today I decided not to include a gift card but to use it as a normal accordion card.

On the left hand panel I used the Christmas Candlelight stamp from Elizabeth Craft Designs newest designer, Petroschi Designs by Bianca. This has been stamped and colored using ECD's new Soft Color Cardstock which comes in two weights ... 85lb and 100lb. I love the feel and the finished effect this cardstock gives you.

On the right hand panel I used the Merry & Bright Clear Stamp set also designed by Karen Burniston.

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Paper: Soft Finish Cardstock 85 lb - Elizabeth Craft Designs; Red; Green

Cherry on Top!

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently today is National Cherries Jubilee Day, so for our challenge this week Lois has requested that we make a card featuring cherries; or, if you don’t have any cherries, use any fruit.

I love when a cherries finally makes me use a stamp set I have had for sometime and that is exactly what happened when I went looking to see if I had any stamps with cherries (I am sure I have a few!).

Anyway while looking through my stamps I found this Inky Antics stamp set which can be used with Bee Paper (or Honeycomb Paper) another thing I haven't used for sometime.

As you can see I created a Pull Card using the Rectangle Pull Card set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I am not sure if that is cherries on my designer paper, but I figured it looked a little like it so if it wasn't it is now haha!

When you pull the card open, it reveals the bee paper cupcake and the bird holding the cherry which is on a spinner.

This time around I used one of the Hedgehogs from Hedgehog Daisy All Seasons stamp set.

I have also used the new Fitted Frames 1 Lace Rectangles from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

For the inside of my card I added a couple more frames from the Fitted Frames 1 Lace Rectangles die set. I added the Quietfire Best Wishes which I die cut in both white and black so I could create a shadow effect.

Hello, Friend

It's our Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team challenge time again over on the Cornish Heritage Farms blog. This time round our challenge is hosted by Me!

For our challenge this week we are to create a card with a friendship theme.

For my card I used Cornish Heritage Farms Flower Jar Digital Stamp and Friend Expressions Stamp set

To create the background on my card I blended Pickled Raspberry and Twisted Citron Distress Inks onto white card and then embossed with the new We R Memory Keepers Woven Embossing Folder.

For the inside of my card I added another sentiment from the Friend Expressions Stamp set and also stamped just the flowers from the Flower Jar image to the bottom of the card.

A Gift for You

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card made using three of the new dies designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The dies I have used the new Gift Card Accordion, Flourish Gift Frame and Lucky the Rabbit. These dies will be available for purchase late October.

The Gift Card Accordion allows you to be able to include a gift card. The die set also includes the gift for you sentiment die and rectangle dies for layering and also to cover up the gift card slots so you can use it as a normal accordion card

The inspiration of my color combo used on this card come from the iTune Gift Card I included in the card.

I used Lucky the Rabbit to decorate my card die cutting him from Beige, Pink and White Velvet Adhesive Sheet.

As I was including an iTunes gift card on this card I though Lucky needed to be holding an iPod which I created using the Rectangle Pull Card (the inside of the postage frame, trimmed narrower); Tag Pivot Card (the circle). The square was hand cut.

May Your Merry Be Very!

Hi everyone,

My card today is for a challenge I am doing with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we get together and go to our favorite stamp/scrapbook store and come home with one or two new goodies. So we decided to also challenge ourselves each month using a product we all have.

This time round to keep the challenge was to create a card with a Christmas theme.  We could use any of the products that we had purchased on our latest shopping trip. I am not sure I got much as I already had the new Pop It Ups dies and I had purchased the Forest Friends stamp set a week or two before. So I just selected some products that I knew they had brought instead.

As you can see I created a Pop Up Card using the Merry Christmas Pop Up Card set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. One of the things I love about Karen's dies is the ability to place the dies anywhere on the fold like you want. For my card today I placed the pop up on the right hand side of the card so I had room to place the deer next to it.

At the top and bottom edges of my card I added a snowflake border die.

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the pop up portion of the card a little easier.

Here is the front of my card. I used the same designer paper I used on the inside and added snow using the Outdoor Edges die set and a snowflake border. I also added a sentiment, I used the fishtail flag from the Lorna Label Pop Up card.

Stamps: Forest Friends - Stampendous; Seasonal Sentiments - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Blue; Bundled Up DP - Carta Bella
Dies: Merry Christmas Pop Up Card; Lorna Label Pop Up Card; Outdoor Edges - designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs; Frostyville Border - Memory Box
Other: Black Ink; Versamark Ink; White Embossing Powder; Foam Tape; Copics

Shiver Me Timbers

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Raquel Mason, the challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for our Sketch Challenge. I hope you have fun playing with this layout.

Today is also "Talk Like A Pirate Day", so seeing I have heaps of pirate stamps I figured I just had to pull out a few of them to create my card this week.

The pirate on the front of my card is from Magnolia Stamps. To embellish the front of the card I added a couple of skull and crossbones from CC Designs.

For the inside of my card I created a Pop Up Card using the Lots of Pops Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs

I added another couple of pirate themed Magnolia stamps. I added a speech bubble to the top of my card and added a pirate themed birthday sentiment.

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the pop up portion of the card a little easier.
