Enjoy Your Day Sweetie

Hi everyone,
It’s my turn to share a Pop it Ups Wednesday tutorial over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. Today I am excited to share with you three of the new die sets designed by Karen Burniston which are being released next week. The new Oval Landscape Accordion coordinates well with the Gift Card Accordion, so today I have combined the two to create my card. I have also used the new Trellis Wavy Frames which works with both of these accordion cards and one of the new character dies, Beaver the Baker.
Here is how I created my card:
The Card Base –
1.  Die cut the following pieces:
From the Oval Landscape Accordion
  • 2 Oval Landscape Accordion Pages from brown cardstock
  • 2 medium oval labels from White Soft Finish Cardstock
  • 4 flourish corners from brown cardstock (adhere Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Tape to back of card before die cutting)
From the Gift Card Accordion
  • 1 Gift Card Accordion Page from pink cardstock
From the Trellis Wavy Frames
  • 3 Frames from pink card (adhere Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Tape to back of card before die cutting)
From Flourish Gift Frame
  • 1 small rectangle label from White Soft Finish Cardstock
  • 1 medium rectangle label from pink cardstock
2. Lay the pages out on your work area so that the two oval pages are on either side of the rectangle page, ensuring that all tabs are towards the right hand side.
  • Apply adhesive to the page tabs of the first oval page and attach it to the rectangle page. Then add adhesive to the tabs of the rectangle page and adhere this to the final oval page.
  • Trim off tabs from the last page.
  • Remove protective backing from the Wavy Trellis Frames and apply these to the front and back of the first oval page and to the front only of the last page.
  • Add the corners to each of the corners on the centre page.
  • Apply adhesive to the pink rectangle label and attach this over the label of the centre page to hide gift card holder notches.
  • Using foam tape attach the white oval labels to the oval pages.

3. Using the Beaver the Baker Character die set die cut the following:
  • (2) Solid Beaver Body from black cardstock
  • (2) Detail Beaver Body from tan cardstock
  • (2) Beaver Tails from tan cardstock
  • (2) sets of Feet from tan cardstock
  • (2) Noses from pink cardstock
  • (2) sets of Whiskers from white cardstock
  • (2) sets of Eyes from white cardstock
  • (2) Buck Teeth from white cardstock
  • (2) Cupcakes from blue cardstock
  • (2) Icing layer from pink cardstock
(Note for easier assembly apply Transparent Double Sided Adhesive to the back of all the cardstock pieces before die cutting, except for the Solid Beaver Body.)
Assemble Beavers adding the cupcake under it’s hands.

4. Using black ink stamp the sentiment “Enjoy your day”  from the Just a Note Clear Stamp set to the centre of the white rectangle label. Conor the word “Enjoy” using two different colors of brown markers to get a two tone effect.
  • Next stamp the “Just a Note to say” sentiment above the first sentiment so that part of the sentiment is overlapping to copy the look of the first sentiment.
  • Stamp the word “sweetie” and the cupcake. Color the cupcake.
  • Attach the label to the centre page of your accordion card using foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial.

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I needed a card to give to my DH to celebrate our 43rd Anniversary. As I have had this Art Impressions Love Spinner couple since early in the year and I thought they would be perfect for his card.

As you can see I created a Tri Shutter card.

Here is a photo of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the folds a little better.

And finally my card when it is folded closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

2016 is Coming

It's our Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team challenge time again over on the Cornish Heritage Farms blog. This time round our challenge is hosted by Me.

2016 is almost upon us, so for our challenge this week lets include a calendar on our cards/projects. It may just be one month e.g. January or the whole year.

Every year I buy a packet of those tiny calendars and every year I hardly use many of them, so this was a great challenge to at least use one of the little calendars haha.

I used an Acrylic Card Stand/Photo Holder which I purchased in a cheap shop, and these make easy calendars to give as gifts at this time of year. All you need to do is cut a piece of designer paper the size of the frame and insert it into the frame. And then decorate the top with a calendar and any image you want.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's blogs today to see what they created for this challenge.

2015 Year in Review (Part 1)

Hi everyone,

Well we only have a few more days left of 2015, I think overall it has been a pretty good year for me and I hope it was for you all too.

It is always hard to select just one or two cards / projects for each month, especially when I have created so many! This year I have approx 380 blog posts for 2015, wow that sounds a lot when you look back like this!

This year seeing that it is so hard to select just one, I am going to do this review in two parts, today and tomorrow and have decided 3 or 4 cards/projects for each month.

Here is the selection I came up with, if you click on the card it will take you to the original post.

January 2015

February  2015

March 2015

April 2015

May 2015

June 2015

Well that is it for the first 6 months, I will be back tomorrow with part 2 of my year in review. Thanks for looking, if you got this far.
