Karen Burniston February Designer Challenge Day 2

Hi everyone,

As promised yesterday I am back with my second card for our February Karen Burniston Designer Challenge. This time round Karen has challenged the Design Team with the theme Glitter.

For my card today I created a Pop Stand Card using the Cup Pop Stand Card die set. Check out Karen Burniston's Cup Pop Stand Demo Video from CHA 2016 to see how easy it is to create this style of card.

As I had just received Karen's new Stage It Stencils earlier in the week I knew I wanted to play with some of those.

All the colored card used on this card is actually white card which I have then added Distress Inks to. To create the background for my base card, I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink directly onto my white card and then I used the Coffee Stage It Stencil to apply the coffee beans onto my card using Viva Décor Walnut Brown Metallic 3D Stamp Paint. As you can see by the photos, this paint has a glittery look to it.

For the cup I colored my card using Stormy Skies Distress Ink and then used the Swirly Flourish Stage It Stencil and White Picket Fence Distress Paint to create my patterned paper and then I die cut two cups from the Cup Pop Stand Card die set.

I used the Coffee Stage It Stencil again this time using the semi circle design to decorate my saucer.

The spoon was die cut using Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.

For the birthday sentiment I used the new A Way With Words Happy Birthday 2 die. I love that we now have this sentiment in two parts so I can use it on different parts of my card. For the Happy Birthday sentiment and the steam in the coffee cup I used Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter

To decorate the top and bottom edges of my card I used the scallop edge from the Pull Card Edges die set.

As the focus is on the inside, I kept the front of my card fairly simple. I again used the Coffee Stage It Stencil to create the background.

I used the negative piece that was created when die cutting the scallop edges border from the Pull Card Edges die set for the inside of my card which I adhered to the centre of my card.

The oval panel is from the Oval Landscape Accordion Card die set, to which I stamped the sentiment "Just a Note to say" which is from the Just a Note Clear Stamp Set.

To finish off the card I embellished the oval with coffee beans and added the spoon both of which are from the Cup Pop Stand Card.

If you are looking to purchase Karen's Pop It Ups dies in Australia you can find them at Craft Giraffe (formerly Photo Continental).

Don't forget to check out  Karen Burniston's blog  on Wednesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus an amazing card/video tutorial from Karen Burniston.

Ooooooh - what a great glittery card. I love the way you did the coffee beans, and the border on the front too.
