    Believe

    Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month I am back with my final challenge for the month.

Saturday the 24th June was Fairy Day ... so for our challenge this week let's include a fairy or fairies on our card.

I recently spent three days demoing at our local Scrapbook and Papercrafts Expo here in Brisbane and of course you don't spend all that time at a show and not come home with anything right! A couple of my purchases at the show were a couple of fairies from Lavinia Stamps. My friends have been talking about these for about a year or so now and have a good collection, so I figured it was time I got a few too 😀.

For my card I decided to create a Centre Step Card using my Cheery Lynn Designs die set I have had for a few years, it makes creating this style of card super easy.

I die cut all the layers for the card in white, masked the moon on the centre panel and then used my Distress Oxide inks to create the background. I stamped a few pieces of scenery and added the fairy to the centre panel.

I also added some Moonlight Glitter Nuvo Drops randomly over the card to give it a fantasy feel.

On the bottom panel, I added the A Way with Words - Believe sentiment.

For the inside of the card I added the other fairy I purchased at the show and a sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    Dahlia Hugs

    Hi Crafty friends,

I recently acquired a Couture Creations Go Press & Foil Machine and of course I wanted to play with it. You are supposed to be able to use dies you own with this machine, so of course I had to try it.

For my first attempt I used the ModaScrap Leaf Pocket die and used this to foil a piece of white cardstock with gold foil. I really love how it turned out. I then added color to the cardstock using various greens and yellow inks. The foil resists the inks.

To decorate my card I used the Susan's Garden Dahlia ... I had one sitting around waiting to be used on a card. As I didn't want to hid too much of the background I added the flower to a circle layer which I adhered to the lower corner of my card.

As you can see I have kept the inside of the card simple by adding the sentiment "Love You" which could be for any occasion. To give the sentiment a little bit of sparkle I added Desert Gold Silk Microfine Glitter to it.

    Romantic Corner Basket

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a cute cone basket I created using the ModaScrap Romatic Corner Die set.  This was inspired by a project by Judi Kauffman on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog this weekend. My basket is slightly different to the one created by Judi in that I used two of the large corners and mine isn't flat on the back.

I die cut two of the large corners from the ModaScrap Romantic Corner die set and adhered them together on the tabs to create a cone. I added wire to the top of the cone to create a handle.

To decorate the cone basket I used the ModaScrap Pair of Leaves 2 and ModaScrap Dandelion Fluff as well as a ribbon.

    Paper: Pale Pink; Pink; Green
Dies: ModaScrap Romantic Corner; ModaScrap Pair of Leaves 2; ModaScrap Dandelion Fluff
Other: Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide; Fired Brick Distress Oxide; Peeled Paint Distress Oxide; Ribbon, Wire

    Happy Birthday Mate

Hi there everyone (or should I say Ahoy there!)

Today I am sharing a card I created using the Concord & 9th Triangle Turnabout Background stamp. I love how easy it is to create colorful backgrounds using this stamp. This was the first background I created with this stamp when I first got it just to try it out and it has been waiting to be put onto a card. I knew the layout I wanted but wasn't sure what image I was going to use on the front. I left the card sitting on my desk while I went shopping and while out discover a magazine which had a sea themed stamp set free with it, as you can see it came home with me and I was able to finish my card 😀

For the inside of my card I added a couple of sentiments and image also from that freebie stamp set.

Stamps: Triangle Turnabout - Concord & 9th; The Seaview Collection - Sheena Douglas
    Paper: White; Black; Teal
Dies: Stitched Squares;  Dotted Scallop Squares; Stitched Circles; Fitted Circles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; VersaMark Ink; White Embossing Powder; Foam Tape; Copics

    Happy Birthday

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing another fun card using some of the new Karen Burniston dies which have recently been released.

This time round I am playing with the new Katherine Label Pop-Up Card die set and the cupcakes from the Cupcake Pop-Up die set. This is such an easy set to use and have so many possibilities.

As you can see I have created a window in the front of the card which has acetate on the window, so this  could easily be turned into a shaker card as well.

I added two of the small cupcakes from the Cupcake Pop Up card die set to the front.

When the card opens the sentiment (or whatever is on the label) moves from in front of the window up because of a pivoting pop up arm which is included in this die set.

I added the sentiment from the Word Set 2 - Birthday die set and a large cupcake which can been seen a little better than in the photo when you actually have the card in your hands and are opening and closing the card.

I also added Nuvo drops to all my cupcakes.

Paper: White; Sage; Green; DP - Couture Creations
Dies: Katherine Label Pop Up; Cupcake Pop Up; Word Set 2 - Birthday - Karen Burniston
Other: Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape; Acetate; Neptune Turquoise Nuvo Drops; Bottle Green Nuvo Drops; Foam Tape; Copics

I do like to be beside the seaside....

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Joanne Grzelak our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently today is Swim a Lap Day! So for this weeks challenge we have been asked to include some form of water on our cards .... a river, the ocean, a pool, raindrops, puddles, bubbles ... it is up to us what form the water takes.

As my Beach Scene Builder die from MFT Stamps had just arrived in the mail just before I started making this card, it was easy to figure out what I was going to do for the challenge.

I added some cute  images from Magnolia stamps to complete my scene and all the other elements on the card were included in the die.

As you can see, I decided to create a pop up on the inside of the card. I used the Beach Scene Builder again to create the water on the bottom edge of my card. The inside of the card is a little wider than the front so I have to stop the cutting before it got to the edge so I could make the water a fraction wider.

I adde some more Magnolia images to my card, the beach houses are popped up using the small pop up die include in Karen Burniston's new Tree Pop Up die set which I die cut three times to my card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Viva Las Vegas

    Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month I continue to issue the challenges!!!

Yesterday was World Music Day; Music Day and Make Music Day .... so let's include something music related on our cards this week.

I decided to play with the new Snowman Twist Circle die set from Karen Burniston. Instead of using the snowman that comes in the set I added my music image instead. This die set has sooooo many options.

To decorate my card I used an old stamp from my stash ... froggy Elvis from Alota Rubber Stamps (unfortunately this company is no longer in business). I also used some old "Elvis" themed stamps that I purchased from the old  Cornish Heritage Farms many years ago. The music notes are from Tonic Studios.

Here you can see my card as it is closing. The circle in the centre of the card moves towards the right side of the card.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ... totally flat so it can fit into an envelope.

And finally one last photo this time of the front of the card. I used the Elvis background stamp for the side panel and then added the Memory Box Happy Birthday and a Guitar from MFT Stamps.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Enjoy Your Day Cup Pop Stand Card

    Hi everyone,

It's my turn to post a Pop it Ups Wednesday tutorial on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. This will be my final Pop it Ups Wednesday post, but of course I will still be continuing with the other Elizabeth Craft Designs tutorials I create.

This time round I decided to pull out my Pop it Ups Cup Pop Stand Card dies set combining it with the new Moda Scrap Patterned Paper and Joset Designs Macaron die set.

Here's how I created my card:

    Step 1 -
    • Cut a piece of green cardstock so it measures 4 1/4 inches x 11 inches. Score and fold along the 11 inch side at 5 1/2 inches to create a top folding card.

    • Cut two pieces of patterned paper (ModaScrap Cucina with Love used here) that measures                                                           4 1/4 inches x 5 inches. Adhere panels to either side of the inside of the green card base, so that the paper it up close to the fold line.

    • Cut two pieces of red polka dot patterned paper that measures 4 1/4 inches x 3/4 inches and adhere to each end of the card so there is a 1/4 inch gap between the patterned paper and edge of card.
    • Adhere Gold/Silver Glitter Border Peel Off Stickers to each of the edges of the red patterned paper.
    Step 2 -
    • Using the Cup Pop Stand Card die set, die cut two cups from patterned paper (note - you will need to place the die on the back of the cardstock for one of the cups so that you have a mirror image of the cup to enable to have them be placed back to back on the card).  To make the card a little strong die cut additional cups from green cardstock and adhere the patterned paper cups to cardstock cups.
    • Create the "pop stand" panel from green card (refer to Karen Burniston's video on how to create the Cup Pop Stand Card for how to do this.
    • Adhere cup pop stand panel to centre of card.
    • Attach the two cups to the tabs of the pop stand panel, leaving the top of the cups open for now.
    Step 3 -
    • Using the steam flourish included in the Cup Pop Stand Card die set, die cut two from white cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front. (Note - you will be die cutting one steam flourish so that the adhesive is on the front and one where the adhesive is on the back.
    • Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover adhesive using Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter. Return excess glitter to the jar and then polish the glitter into the adhesive with your finger.
    • Glue the two flourishes together so you have glitter on either side. attach this to the inside of one of the cups and then place Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to the top of the cup to join both cups together.

    Step 4 -
    • Die cut a spoon from Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back (note - you will need to use a Metal Adaptor plate for your die cutting machine to cut the Shimmer Sheetz). For extra strength, die cut an additional spoon from green cardstock and layer the two together.
    • Adhere the spoon in the front of the cup using foam tape (Note - make sure the spoon does not interfere with the card opening and closing by overlapping the fold).
    Step 5 -
    • Using the Macarons die set, die cut one of the scallop ovals from white cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the front.
    • Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover adhesive with Peony Pink Silk Microfine Glitter. Return excess glitter to the jar and then polish the glitter into the adhesive with your finger.
    • Die cut two of the ovals from dark pink cardstock.
    • Create the macaron by sandwiching the glittered panel between the two pink ovals. (refer to photo above as a guide)
    Step 6 -
    • Using the "Enjoy the Day" sentiment from the Just a Note Clear Stamp set, stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock using black ink. Color sentiment as desired.
    • Use the small label die from the Katie Labels Pivot Card die set to die cut the sentiment. Sponge around edge of label.
    • Place on the front part of the inside of card.
    • Die cut an additional label using the same die to cut a second label which is left blank and adhere to the back panel to be used for the hand written sentiment.

Step 7 - Front of Card
    • Cut a piece of patterned paper that measures 4 1/4 inches x 4 inches and adhere to the centre of the front of card.
    • Cut two pieces red polka dot patterned paper 4 1/4 inches x 1/2 inch and adhere to each edge of the patterned paper on card.
    • Adhere Gold/Silver Glitter Border Peel Off Stickers to each of the edges of the red patterned paper.
    Step 8 -

    • Die cut a label from white cardstock using the second largest label in the Katie Label Pivot Card die set.
    • Die cut a label from green cardstock using the largest label in the Katie Label Pivot Card die set.
    • Stamp the "Just a Note to Say" from the Just a Note Clear Stamp set onto the white label using black ink.
    • Adhere to centre of front of card.
    Step 9 -
    • Die cut and create an additional spoon and macaron that we created for the inside of the card (steps 4 & 5) and attach to the card using foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

    *************************

For my cards today I decided to use the Krista Schneider Bird-day Party clear stamps with coordinating dies.

For the sentiments on each card I used the "happy bird-day" sentiment from the stamp set and layered this using circles from the Stitched Circles and Dotted Circles die sets. I added some twine underneath the sentiment for some added interest.

Here is a close up of my third card is the card series.

I used the new ModaScrap Thinking About ... Polinesia and Rio De Janeiro 6 x 6 Paper Packs for my designer paper, using the straight die from the Fishtail Borders die set. I positioned the die a little off from the centre to get an interesting shape and die cut this and then used my trimmer to cut the remaining edge on the right hand side.

I did the same thing with Soft Finish Cardstock which matched the colors of designer paper I used and layered the solid panel under the designer paper before attaching to the card.

For the inside of my cards I used the negative off cut from when I die cut the designer paper for the front of the card. I trimmed it down slightly and then added it to the lower part of my card.

I added sentiments from the General Sentiments and Occasions clear stamp sets using black ink.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Don't forget to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see all the wonderful creations by our talented designers and for a change to win the giveaway.
