January 2018 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our January Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

This month the theme for our challenge is ...
"BIRTHDAY BANNERS!" - Pennants! Bunting! Banners! Flags! Incorporate a fun string of something into a card with a birthday theme.

For my card today I used the Katherine Label Pop-up die set for the base of my card. I added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Word Set - Birthday die set to the labels on the to right hand side of the card.

To decorate my card I used a stamp set I received for a Christmas present from a friend ... Beccy's Place Celebrations stamp set which I thought was perfect for this challenge.

I added a banner to the top left hand side of my card using the banners & hearts from the Twist Panel Pop-up die set.

I also used two of the small labels from the Gift Card Label die set for the "hip hip hooray" sentiment.

Here is another look at the inside of my card this time with the card laying down so you can see the pop up part of the card a little better.

For the front of the card, I added an embossed white panel to the far left of the card and more of the designer paper I used on the inside.

I repeated the banner to the top left hand side of the card to match what I did on the inside.

I also added a birthday sentiment using the circle from the Snowman die set and the label from the Gift Card Labels die set.

Don't forget to visit Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

I LOVE how brightly coloured this one is Frances, it's perfect for a birthday celebration. The row of bunting you put together is wonderful, what a great idea to actually thread it onto a piece of twine. I also like the way the sentiment pops up when the card is opened. Clever!
Cheers,
