Go Richmond!

CCEE1341RichmondStep-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Anne Harmon our challenge hostess for the month of October continues to bring us some fun challenges.

Apparently today is Brett Favre's birthday. So our challenge this week is to create a card relating to football.

Now to be honest with you all I have no idea who Brett Favre is … but I am presuming he has something to do with football up there in the US! …. sorry remember I do live in Australia LOL!

Down here where I live in Australia we don’t play the same sort of football as you do in the US … we have two popular codes … Rugby League and Australian Rules or Aussie Rules as most of us call it Smile.

My family prefer Aussie Rules … being Queenslanders we normally follow the Lions. However my husband who originally came from Victoria has followed the Richmond Tigers since he was a kid. So for my card today in honor of my DH I decided to make my card in Richmond colors!

For my card today I used La La Land Crafts Footy Luka and created a Centre Step card using my Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card die … if you don’t have the die (it makes making this card super easy) … then you will find a tutorial I created for this in the resource section of Splitcoast Stampers.

I did learn something after I had finished making this card …. Aussie Rules footballs are red not brown. When I showed my daughter the card that was the first thing she said LOL … so I changed them! Oops! The striped designer paper was black and white so I used my copic airbrush to color it yellow.

Here is the inside of my card …. I used an old Darcies sentiment. They do catch the ball when playing Aussie Rules apparently it is called marking the ball … but it is still catching in my book so hopefully this sentiment will past muster when my DH gets it for his birthday LOL! I never said I was a sport expert!

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Cute football (Aussie Rules) card -- I love the balls on the side panels of your center step card. The sentiment inside is marvelous.

What a fabulous and fun card, Frances. It's a great use of the centre-step format. And the inside sentiment is just so fitting. I have to admit that little as I know about sport, I probably know marginally more about Aussie Rules than I do about American football!
