Happy Happy Happy Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, we are all ready for another year for fun challenges. Being a brand new month (and year) it's time to introduce our challenge hostess for the month which is Karen Ostergard.

Our challenge this week is .... Happy New Year:  To celebrate, we are challenging you to try something new on your project.  Either a new-to-you product or technique.

Now that Christmas is over and all the Christmas themed stamps/dies etc have been put away for at least 6 months, I have lots of new stamps, dies etc that I am itching to play with. 

To create my card this week, I decided to pull out Honey Bee Stamps Gift Card Present Box, which I received a few weeks before Christmas. This die is meant to to a gift card, however for mine I just added sentiments. I have made this style of card before without a die about 9 or so years ago, you can find my earlier cards here.

To decorate my card I used stamps from La-La Land Crafts August Kit which was a birthday theme. I have been wanting to use this image for some time now and I just love the sentiments included in this set.

As you can see the top part of the present pulls out which reveals a greeting or a gift card if you want to use it the way the die was designed.

A Merry Christmas Present!

Hi all,

My card is for a shoebox swap that I did last week with a few friends. It is a stamp club I attend each month. This worked so well for the previous shoebox swap I did recently that I decided to use the same layout but just changed the stamps.

This card is a Pull Up Parcel Card, I am loving creating these cards.

Here you can see the pull out card beside the outer card … the top of the parcel is attached to the inner card and just pulls out.

And here is a close up of the inner card.

Pure Innocence

Hi everyone,

I have a couple more MFTeaser’s to share with you all today in readiness of the MFT Stamps new release, this coming Wednesday 6th October.

Today the MFT Design team are featuring the “Pure Innocence” range, and this month there will be five brand new Pure Innocence sets to be released … you are going to love them!!!!!! The PI’s to be released include: PI Snow Angel; PI Little Pumpkin; PI Don’t Open Until; PI Something Special For You; PI Sending You A Little Christmas.

My first project today uses the new PI Little Pumpkin set … that pumpkin sure looks heavy hehe. I decided to play with one of the new templates that were released last week, this one is the Pumpkin Box template and was decided by Barbara Anders.

I also used the Fresh Cut Grass die-namics die along the bottom edge of the box.

For my second project today I created another Pull Up Parcel Card using the PI – Something Special Just For You set. This set can be used for both birthdays and Christmas. As I have been busy creating a fair number of Christmas cards this release, I decided to make this one a birthday card.

Here is the inside of my card, I stamped the birthday sentiment included in the set and also the PI girl in the bottom right hand corner.

Don’t Open Until Christmas!

Recently the stamp club I go to each month held their first ever shoe box swap. Each of us had to create a card with a Christmas theme and enough kits so that everyone else could duplicate what we had created.

I was still mulling over what I would be creating for this swap when I came across a blog post in my Google Reader on how to create a Pull Up Present card … my problem was solved!!!!!!!! LeaAnn’s version is a lot smaller than mine suitable for a gift card so I had to play around with the measurements so I could make it more a standard size card to fit inside a standard envelope. My finished card measures 11cm x 14cm.

Here you can see the pull out card beside the outer card … the top of the parcel is attached to the inner card and just pulls out.

And here is a close up of the inner card. I enjoyed making this and will be making more in the future I am sure!
