A Patchwork of Happiness

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Sewing themed Circle Accordion Card using products from Made To Surprise and Waffle Flower Crafts.

I made this for my friend, who loves sewing, especially quilting etc so I normally make her a card with this theme each year. This year when Waffle Flower released all the sewing themed products I had to get some for this card.

The card base itself was created using Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's Circle Accordion Showstopper die set which is one that was released a few months back.

For the centre circle panel, I used Waffle Flower's Meandering Texture Die to add the texture to the background, this was also used on all the oval panels and the skinny rectangle panels. I used dies from the Notions die set to add the sewing tools. The postage stamps were created using Waffle Flower's Postage Collage die set and the Postage Collage Sew Fun Stencil. Rather than using the full panel, I cut this panel up to add to the card.

For all the quilted panels I used the Quilted Floral Stencil with the Meandering Texture Die to give them. that quilted look.

The sentiments are all from the Quilted Hugs stamp set.

Here is a look at my card, when it is folded to be placed in an envelope. It will fit inside a 5 x 7 envelope.

Snowman Easel

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas themed Easel Card I created while I was making Christmas in July cards last month.  Once  I got into that Christmas card making mode, it was hard to get out of it and as I still have cards to get made for Christmas this year I will pop a few on here each month.

For this card I used the North Pole Sentiments die set which included the snowmen, and the pole and sentiments on the pole ... it's such a fun set.

I used Spellbinders Snowfall Shimmer Betterpress Plate to white glimmer foil the snowflake background onto a panel of blue cardstock. I am loving this plate!

I used Trinty Stamps Arch- Shaped Card die set to create the Arch Shaped Easel card.

I added white glitter cardstock to the base and also the main panel of the card for snow.

Here is a look at my card, when it is folded. It will fit into a standard A2 Envelope.

August 2025 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our August Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is ... "BOTTOM FOLD CARDS" - Let's flip things up and make some pop-ups in bottom fold cards.

For my card for this challenge I decided to create something that is a blast from the past… a file folder card. I made my card so the finished card measures 5 x 7 inches. I trimmed 1/2 inch from the top of the front of the card before adding my tabs. For the tabs I used my Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers, punching at the edge and then at 2 1/2 inches on both the front & the back.

For the inside of my card I added the Little Labels Pop-up die to create the pop up portion of the card. I madded the presents from the Big Birthday Charm die set to mimic the patterned paper on the front. The sentiment on the centre label is from the Seasons of Cheer Clear Stamp set.

On the lower panel on the inside I added the poinsettia using the Poinsettia die set. I added a large label from te Lorna Labels die set to add a personal message.

To finish off my card I added the Merry Christmas sentiment using the Merry Christmas Lorna Add-ons die set.

Quilted My Thoughts

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing two postage style cards that having a sewing/quilting theme, that I created recently.

My cards using Waffle Flower Crafts Postage Collage die set along with the Postage Collage Sew Fun Stencil set. After finishing the postage frames, I embellished the frames using the Sew Fun stamp set which includes fun postage & sewing themed images to add to the panel.

I added a sentiment from the Quilted Hugs stamp set.

My postage panel was added to a 5 x 7 card, I used the Meandering Texture die to add some texture to the orange panel of my background. If you look closely at the photo above, you can see the dotted lines all over the background.

For the inside I added another orange panel with the Meandering Texture die added to it. I added another sentiment and two of the postage stamps which I had cut apart from another postage panel I had made.

Fa La La La La

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a pop up themed Christmas card I created recently. This card was inspired by a card I made a number of years ago, but with completely different products.

The carol singing snowmen & the door are all from Spellbinders, wouldn’t it be fun having Carol singing snowmen at your front door1 It definitely won’t happen here as it’s summer at Christmas time for me1

For the brick background of my card, I used an old MFT Stamps Brick stencil, using Antique Linen & Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks for colouring.

The greenery at the top of the card is an old die from Memory Box, a very well used die from my stash.  The snowy border at the bottom is also from the same company. I used white glitter Cardstock for the base of the card.

To create the pop up, I used Karen Burniston’s Lorna Label Pop-up die set, this gives a nice high support for the door. I did need to trim off the sides of the label, so they didn’t peek out the sides.

To finish off the inside I added the two lamps and a sentiment.

For the front of the card I used Spellbinders Snowball Shimmer Betterpress Plate to white glimmer a piece of dark blue cardstock. I added snowy hills at the bottom.

I added one snowman and a lamp and finished off by adding the Fa La La La La sentiment also included with The Snow Notes die set.

Other Supplies:
Carol Singers Die Set - Tonic Studios
Pine Needle Border - Memory Box
Open House Side Panel - Spellbinders
Open House Stair Sentiments - Spellbinders

Big Mouth Nutcracker

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing three Big Mouth Nutcracker cards I created recently using dies from Hero Arts.

As I couldn't decide which colour I wanted my nutcracker, I decided to make three one of each colour.

When I was researching Nutcrackers to make my cards, most I saw had white beards and hair and their moustache and eyebrows were black. I ended up using a very light grey cardstock for the hair and beard to take the starkness off the cards.

These are an interactive card, so when you pull the beard the mouth opens to reveal a Christmas sentiment.

This one is basically the opposite colours to the first, substituting the green for the red etc.

I used the same sentiment for this one as I did for my first nutcracker card.

For my last card, I used the colors dark blue & red.

For this one I used a different sentiment to be revealed when the mouth is opened.

For the insides of all the cards I added two sentiments.

Ho Ho Ho

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am continuing sharing my "Christmas in July" cards I have been creating this month.

This time around I have pulled out an older stamp set from Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott. I believe it is from the first Christmas stamps she designed. While it's an older set, it is new to me as I was able to purchase a secondhand set earlier in the year to help fill my collection.

Santa is from the Santa & Rudolph stamp set. I kept the design of my card fairly simple, layering the image onto nesting arches using the Spellbinders Arch Labels & Tags die set.

The "Ho Ho Ho" sentiment if from the Christmas Photo Booth stamp set, also from Made to Surprise.

For the inside of the card, I used a sentiment from the Santa & Rudolph stamp set as well as Santa's boots.

Holding Santa Mug

Hi Crafty Friends,

I'm back today with another Christmas card using the products from Spellbinders July 2025 Club Kits which had a Christmas in July theme.

For my card I created a 5 x 7 card. I used the Betterpress Plate of the Month - Festive Press which I white foiled onto teal cardstock. I love how easy this Betterpress Plate was to line up so I could create a 5 x 7 panel.

I used Spellbinders Matting Basics A & B die sets to die cut my panels to add to my 5 x 7 top folding white card base.

I used the Large Die of the Month - Mugs & Mittens to create the hands holding the mug with Santa. This is such a fun die set, I used it with the mug for this card, but I am looking forward to looking for other images to add to the hands.

The Merry Christmas is an older Glimmer set which I also glimmered using white foil.

For the inside of my card, I printed a digital sentiment I received from Verve Stamps many years ago, I like that it relates to both Christmas & the mug. I added another mug to the top of the sentiment, adding the snowman to the top of the mug.

Christmas Mugs Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas themed Slimline Card I created using products from Spellbinders July 2025 Club Kit which has a Christmas in July theme.

This time round I created a Slimline card, I pulled out Whimsy Stamps' Twisted Slimline die to create my Slimline card base.

For the middle panel I used the 2D Embossing Folder of the Month - Nordic Noel to add some texture to the panel.

I decorated this panel using the cute mugs from the Large Die of the Month - Mugs & Mittens. I love the overhead view of the mugs with the cute decorations inside the mugs.

For the inside of my card, I added a Christmas sentiment from my stash and adhered another of the mugs to the left side of my card.
