MFTeaser Day 2

Hi everyone,

It’s day 2 of the MFTeasers, in preparation of the release of the new stamp sets which are all due to be released by MFT Stamps this coming Tuesday 5th June.

Today the Design Team are featuring 2 stamps sets. I am sharing with you a card I created using the Fred Bear and the Pinwheel stamp set.  I just love this new Fred Bear set!

I have used the new MFT Die-namics Tag Stax for the Fred Bear image, and I also used the new Die-namics Designer Labels 2 Stax for the sentiment and for the top piece on the tag. Of course I couldn’t use this pinwheel themed stamp set without using the Die-namics Perfect Pinwheel.

It’s also challenge time again with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess Charlene Merrick finishes off the month of challenges with a paper piercing challenge. I added paper piercing to the two bottom corners of my tag.

Here is the inside of my card. For the sentiment I have used the Die-namics Designer Labels 2 Stax and also the Hexagon Border … this is such a fun border.

It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for this week’s Wednesday Stamp Club sketch over on the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This is another fun sketch!

For my card this week I used MFT Stamps à la modes It Must Be Love, I love this set! The circle underneath the main image was created using the MFT Die-namics Circle STAX Set 1 and Die-namics Circle STAX Set 2.   Along the bottom of the card I used the new MFT Die-namics Notched Border. For the sentiment I used the Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome.

I have also used Grosgrain Ribbon Razzle Berry and Heavyweight Cardstock Razzle Berry both also available from My Favorite Things.

 

Here is the inside of my card, I stamped the girl again and included a sentiment from the set. I also added the Die-namics Notched Border.

It’s that time again when the MFT Stamps designs team begins showing our MFTeasers in preparation of the new stamps which will be released by MFT Stamps after the release party this coming Tuesday 5th June.

Today the Design Team are featuring Who’s That Girl Godspeed stamp set which is being released. This stamp set has two images in the set, the Who’s that Girl and Who’s that Guy.

For my card I decided to use both the images on my card, this was layered using the new MFT Die-namics Designer Labels 2 stax. For the sentiment I used the large ribbon from the Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon. I have also used the new MFT Die-namics Notched Border which you can  see in the centre of the card between the two designer papers.

Here is the inside of my card, I stamped the Who’s that Guy on the right side of my card. I again used the new Die-namics Designer Labels 2 Stax for my sentiment, and the Die-namics Notched Border along the designer paper.

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge over on the Paper Pretties Blog. This week our challenge is an Inspiration challenge … we are to use Summer as our inspiration.

For my card this week I have decided to use Paper Pretties Life is Good Cooper, I just love this sweet stamp set.

This will actually be my last card I create for Paper Pretties for the Design Team as I have decided to step down from the team. This was a very hard decision to make, I love the Paper Pretties stamps, and Heather the owner of Paper Pretties is a wonderful person. But I felt I needed to cut down on some of my work load and you have to make decisions that work best for you.

Creative Chat–Ink Pad Storage!

It’s time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You’ll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT Forum. This month, we were asked the following questions.

Show us how you store your ink pads.

Any tips on organization?

I have been stamping for well over 25 years, and in that time I have seen various different types of ink pads introduced. When I first began stamping you didn’t have much choice it was either dye, pigment or fabric inks …. now we have so many exciting inkpads out there … chalk inks, rainbow inks that don’t all blend together, permanent and archival ink pads, pearlscent inkpads, metalics to name some of them.

Of course as you will see in my video I had to have many of these and I love them all for many different reasons. Of course having so many ink pads I needed to find storage solutions that worked for me. It took many years to get what I really liked and thanks to some friends at a stamp club I have been going to for years I finally found the one right for me some years back.

Slide Mini Books

Hi everyone,

Over the past few weeks I have been busy sorting out all my stamping related bits and pieces from the spare bedroom after my DH finished renovating it. I store all my old stamping magazines and samples I used to use for classes which I used to teach years ago.

While going through all my bits and pieces seeing what I should keep and what should go I found these adorable Slide mini books which I created sometime in 2000 (that was the date I found on an old photo in my files section). As I hadn’t posted these before on my blog, I thought I would share one of them with you today.

The books are made using chipboard slides which were popular back then. I used 3 slides for each book and decorated the frame of the slides using inks. I used eyelets on the left side of each slide and then joined all three slides together using ribbons.

Now of course slides are fairly small (2 inches square) so you only need tiny images for the centre portion of the book. For this Slide Mini Book I used some cute Pooh stamps that I got years back.

One Layered Happy Birthday

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week Barb Anders is back to host the challenge.

Barb has challenged us to create a One layer card, one layer period. That means your base card is IT! No base card and another layer, that counts as two layers for this challenge's purposes. It's good to go CAS sometimes :)

I am sure Barb’s ears must have been burning while I was creating my card for this challenge as I hate making one layer cards … I love seeing what other people do but for me I prefer using layers when I make my cards. Of course after I had made my card Barb posted to the group that we could use embellishments etc but it was too late as mine was done, if I had of known that before making mine I would probably have gone a different part.

My card uses a sweet image from Lili of the Valley – Maisie Two Balloons.
