One of the many beauties of Summer is flowers blooming, so for my card today I decided to use one of the newer Garden Notes dies which was release a couple of months ago. Here I have used the Garden Notes - Rhododendron die, you can see a video showing how to assemble the Rhododendron flower here

I die cut a piece of patterned paper from the ModaScrap Butterfly Dreams Paper Pack using the largest rectangle from the Dashing Rectangles and then die cut the ovals on the right hand side of the paper using the Garden Notes - Frame It/Stitched Ovals die set.

I used the Blackboard Alphabet to create the "Happy" sentiment and then white embossed the "Birthday" from the Banner Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

To finish off the front of the card I added Nuvo Drops.

For the inside of the card I stamped a sentiment from the A Way With Words - Birthday Collection Clear Stamp set.

Hello Friend Animation Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am playing with some of the new animation stamps and dies from Motion Crafts by Uchi's Design that were released earlier this year ... I just love playing with anything interactive and these are so much fun!!!

For my card today I have made a Peek-A-Boo card using the Peek-A-Boo Card die set and Fox & Friends Animation Stamps.

Here is a quick video to show my card in action.

To create this card I used the Animation Grid die to create the animation grid so that it could be the same color as the animation stamp on the card.

To create the frame around the opening, I combined the die that does the opening from the Peek-A-Boo die set and Elizabeth Craft Designs Dashing Rectangles die set.

Here is a look at the inside of the card using stamps from the Fox & Friends Animation Clear Stamp set.

Lettuce Be Friends Forever

Hi Crafty Friends,

According to the Days of the Year web site, today (16th July) is Guinea Pig Appreciation Day.

I recently purchased this fun Guinea Pig themed stamp set from Gerda Steiner. As it has been sitting on my desk waiting to be used, I thought it was the perfect excuse to play with the stamp set.

I created a Gatefold Shutter card using the Nellie Snellen Magic Card Round die set. When you open the card, the circle at the centre top opens up to reveal an image and/or sentiment.

Here is the front of my card when it is closed. I added two more of the guinea pigs which are layered onto two circles. I also added a sentiment which is included in the stamp set.

Here you can see when the card is partially open and the image in the top centre circle is only partly seen.

Here is another view of the inside of my card as the card is in the process of opening. Here you can see a little more of the image/sentiment in the centre panel.

One final photo of my card when it is closed laying on my desk.

Birthday Balloons

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created recently.

For my card, I used the Birthday Balloons stamp set from Stampendous. I had been thinking about getting this stamp for a long time and finally got around to buying it.

After stamping the image onto white cardstock, I die cut the image using Elizabeth Craft Designs Dashing Rectangles die set. The red balloon is stamped twice so I cold pop one up over the base card for some extra dimension.

I sponged on some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide around the edges of the panel.

I also added Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Gloss to all the balloons and confetti pieces on the card.

To finish off the card I attached the panel to some rainbow paper I have had in my stash for years.

For the inside of the card I added a stripe of the rainbow paper to the left side of the card. I added a birthday sentiment which is one from Paper Inspirations.

You Sparkle Nail Polish Shaped Cards

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Our challenge this month is to create a Shaped Card. Anything other than a plain rectangle, square or circle.

For my cards today, I pulled out my Honey Bee Stamps Nail Polish Bottle die set. So far I have only used it to create a pop-up card and this was the perfect opportunity to use it as a shaped card as it was intended.

Being that this is a smaller card I decided to make four cards, two in pinks and two in purples.

For the nail polish part of the card, I used Silk Microfine Glitter.

For the sentiment on the front of the card. I colored some cardstock the same color to match the bow on each card using Copic markers and then stamped the "Sparkle" sentiment from the Shine On Stamp & coordinating die set using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

For the inside of the card I stamped the "& shine".

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Spring Blossoms Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a birthday card to share with you all today.

For the background of my card I used Altenew's Cube Builder Stencil, stencilling the front and inside of the card using three different shades of pink Altenew ink.

I used Karen Burniston's Circle Charm Pop-up die set to create the base of my card.

For the front of the card I added a birthday sentiment combining A Way With Words - Happy Birthday 3 die set and Altenew's Birthday Builder Clear Stamp set.

To decorate my card I used Honey Bee Stamps Spring Blossom Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies.

I added a birthday sentiment from a Mama Elephant stamp set.

Hooray It's Your Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lynn McAuley our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Our challenge this week is ..... National Simplicity Day
July 12 has been declared National Simplicity Day in honour of Henry David Thoreau who was a devoted advocate of living a life of simplicity. So on this lazy day of summer, Lynn has challenged us to create a clean and simple one layer card!

I am not a fan of making one layer cards, I know many people make gorgeous cards in this style ... they are just not for me. This is the closest I will get!

For my background I used the Concord & 9th Retro Petals stencil using Catherine Pooler Inks. I then die cut the panel using the largest die from the Dashing Rectangles die set.

The sentiment is a combination of stamps from Honey Bee Stamps and Uniquely Creative.

To finish off the front of the card I added Nuvo Drops to each of the centres of the petals.

No one said I couldn't decorate the inside of my card, I kept it as simple as I could. As you can see I created a pop up card.

To decorate the top and bottom edges of the card I used the Concord & 9th Retro Petals stencil again.

For the pop up I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set adding a sentiment from the Ranger Letter It Birthday Clear Stamp set.

Here is a another view of the card taken at an angle so you can see the pop-up part of the card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

The layers of the card were created using patterned papers. I added the icing to each layer by adding Sea Glass Silk Microfine Glitter to each piece.

I added a sentiment to the bottom of the cake using a stamp set from MFT Stamps.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment using a stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Wishing You Oceans of Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our June Paper Pros challenge. This month our challenge is hosted by Raquel Mason who has given us the theme is "In a Name". Use a die that has a letter from your name or names.

Seeing my name is Frances Byrne, I had to use dies that started with the letter 'F' and the letter 'B'. For the first I used Karen Burniston's Fancy Label Accordion die set.

I die cut the pages in blue and red and stamped a ship's wheel around the outer frame of each page using VersaMark ink.

I used a new stamp set from Paper Rose called Monkey Love to decorate the two pages on either end. Adding the lighthouse to the edge of the first page.

I used Palm Tree from Tropical Scene die set to create the beach area on the labels.

For the letter "B" I used the Birthday Wishes sentiment from Word Set 2 - Birthday die set.

Here is a look at the front of the card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

You can see what the other "Paper Pros" created for this challenge on their blogs:
