Best Dad

Hi Crafty Friends,

Down here in Australia Father's Day is always the first Sunday in September, which of course will be this coming Sunday. So for my card today I am sharing a Father's Day card I created.

As you can see, I have created an Apron shaped card using Honey Bee Stamps A2 Apron and Apron - BBQ Add-on die sets.

I created a side folding card by placing the folded card into the Apron die so that the left side of the card wouldn't cut. I also die cut another apron panel which I adhered to the front of the card.

I die cut the bbq tools using silver mirror card and woodgrain patterned paper, adhering the to together as needed.

The "Best Dad" sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps Best Parents stamp set.

For the inside of the card I stamped the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment also from the Best Parents stamp set. I die cut the sentiment using oval dies from Hero Arts Infinity Ovals die set.

I added another bbq tool and sausage to the lower portion of the sentiment and then two beer bottles to the top of the sentiment.

Floral With Sympathy

Hi Crafty Friends,

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card to send to friends recently, so I created this Slimline card.

To create my card I used the flower frame from Simon Says Stamp's Slimline Floral stamp set. This was layered onto a Slimline rectangle panel using Trinity Stamps Slimline Quilted Cover die which I die cut from purple cardstock.

For the sentiment I used the "With Sympathy" die set from Karen Burniston.

For the inside of my card I used the floral border using the same Simon Says Stamp set used on the front of the card.

I added two sentiments using sentiments from Altenew's In My Thoughts stamp set.

Pumpkin Head Halloween Pop-up

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie, our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

What’s in season to eat at your farmers market? Make a card inspired by your local harvest. Even if it’s 6 months ago for the Southern Hemisphere. You can but don’t necessarily have to use the actual fruit or veg. You can just use the colours or textures. Like pink and green or pink with black dots for watermelon. Yellow plaid or use a square stencil for corn etc. Leave us a note with your inspiration!

When I was thinking about what to create for this challenge, I realised I already had something made that would work perfectly for this challenge. As I had made it using some of the new dies from Karen Burniston's August release earlier in the month. So the harvest vegetable I decided to use was pumpkins!

For my card today I have created a Halloween themed pop-up card, featuring a Jack O Lantern which are carved from pumpkins.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

To create the pumpkin on my card I used Karen Burniston's Bitty Ball Pop-up and Character Add-ons die sets. I die cut the base of the pumpkin using two different shades of orange and then added the face and stem using black and green cardstock.

I used the largest square die from the Squares - Crosshatch die set to die cut the patterned papers on my card, this was layered to black cardstock and then to each side of my square side folding card.

On the left hand panel, I added the "Boo" sentiment which is from the Halloween Elements die set and layered using the smallest oval from the Ovals - Crosshatch die set.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple, seeing the focus of the card was on the inside. I added another panel of the pumpkin patterned paper.

I added the belly band to my card to help keep it closed when needed. This was created by wrapping a strip of cardstock around the card loosely, layering the different colors and patterned paper.

I added the "Happy Halloween" sentiment to the front of the belly band which used the new Happy Halloween die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Christmas Lantern

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas card using dies from Divinity Designs including two of the new square dies from the July 2021 Blessings Box.

To create my card I used the Flourished Square Background die set die cutting the die cuts from red and gold cardstock. I layered this onto a top folding square card using the Square Card Base with Layer die set.

To decorate my card I used the Christmas Candle Lantern die set which I layered to the card using the Squares die set.

For the inside of my card, I die cut the green square using the layer from the Square Card Base die set.

I added the "Joy To The World" die cut sentiment to the inside of my card using the Joy to the World Script die set.

You're Top Dog

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Today is Dog Day! For our challenge today, include an image of a dog on your card.

Recently I have seen a lot of Pinwheel Tower Cards around the internet, so I decided to give it a try. It's hard to tell by the photo above, my card measures 4 1/4 inches high and when flattened is 5 1/2 inches so will fit into a normal sized envelope.

To decorate the front of my card, I used Art Impressions Dog Mouthful stamp set for the dog and sentiment on the side panel. The Bark is from Lawn Fawn's Critter Chatter stamp set, which is die cut using one of the speech bubbles from the Comic Speech Bubbles die set from Whimsy Stamps.

For the next section of my card, I used three of the sentiments from Lawn Fawn's Critter Chatter stamp set which I layered using oval dies.

The "woof" and bones are from Whimsy Stamps Puppy Paws die set.

Next up I stamped another sentiment which is from the Art Impressions stamp set I used for the front of my card. I used a larger oval for this section, so that there is a space for a hand written greeting.

I added the dog bowl which is from Whimsy Stamps Slimline Dog Bone die set.

I stamped a few of the sentiments from the Critter Chatter stamp set onto one of the die cut bones for the side panel.

For the last section, I used an older Rubbernecker Stamps sentiment. I added a couple of die cut paws from an older MFT Stamps die set.

I layered the "Pawtay" die cut sentiment onto a bone for the side panel. Both these dies are from the Whimsy Stamps Puppy Paws die set.

Here is a look at my card when it is flattened ready to be placed in an envelope. Mine is a tiny bit bulky, but I think it will still work for normal postage.

Floral Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a flower slimline card I created recently.

The flowers used on this card are from Simon Says Stamp's Slimline Florals Stamp set. I stamped the floral border three times onto white cardstock, then colored and cut them out. I used two for the front of the card.

For the background of my card I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Dainty Scallop Edge Die set. I used the largest die included in the die set to die cut a panel from pink cardstock which I adhered to a top folding Slimline card. I then added the flower borders to the top and bottom of this panel.

The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is gold foiled using Spellbinder's Essential Glimmer Sentiments Hot Foil stamps. I used Spellbinder's Slimline Blossoming die set to die cut the sentiment.

To finish off the card I added pink crystals.

For the inside of my card I added the flower border image along the bottom of the card.

I added two sentiments using the Simon Says Stamp/Reverse Confetti Stamptember Celebrate Your Day stamp set.

A Little Note To Say Hello

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another square card using some of the new products from the July 2021 Blessings Box from Divinity Designs.

To create my card I used the Petals Square Background die set, Always There stamp set and Rainbow Sherbet Slimline Sized Paper Pad which are all included in the July 2021 Blessings Box.

I also used the Square Card Base with Layer die set which used to create the base of my card.

The circle layers in the centre of my card were created using the Double Stitched Circles and Circles die sets.

I added half pearls around the card to add some bling to the card.

For the inside of the card I added two more circle layers that have a sentiment and hummingbird which are part of the Already There stamp set.

Happy Halloween

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Halloween themed pop-up card I created using a few of the new dies released by Karen Burniston earlier this month.

Here is a quick video so you can see the pop-up portion of the card in action.

My card today uses two of the new dies that were released this month along with three dies which are from previous Karen Burniston releases.

First up ... the Iron Fence, this die was previously available from Elizabeth Craft Designs shortly before Karen left that company and started up her own company. Many people have been asking for this die set to be released again, and finally Karen has done just that.

I decided to use the Iron Fence to create a Halloween themed card, you can see the fence on the right hand side of the card has a rounded look when the card is open as this is the pop-up part of the card.

To decorate my card I used the previously released Halloween Scene die set to create the graveyard scene and the bat. The ghosts are from the Halloween Elements die set which is also a previously released die set. The crow which is sitting on the fence is included in the Iron Fence Pop-up die set and can be colored to work for different occasions.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple seeing the focus of the card is on the inside. I repeated a number of elements that I used on the inside of the card, including the Iron Fence along the bottom, the designer paper, this is what was let after using a 6 x 8 sheet on the inside of the card and the bat.

I added the new Happy Halloween sentiment die over a white circle from the Crosshatch Circles die set. The circle represents the moon, hence the bat above the sentiment.

To finish off the front of the card I added the pair of hands which is also from the Halloween Elements die set.

Get Well Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Earlier in the month I shared a sympathy card I created using the same stamp set as I am using for my card today. When I first started making the sympathy card I had used orange inks for the flowers, but midway through making it I decided the orange was too bright and happy to be used for a sympathy card, so put that aside and used a dull pink instead.

The flowers are from Pinkfresh Studio's Miss Your Smile stamp set and their coordinating stencil set. I am loving having matching stencils as it makes such easy work on coloring the image.

To create my Slimline card I used Slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios.

To finish off the front of the card, I added the Get Well Soon sentiment which is from a new Get Well Soon Stamp set from Waffle Flower Crafts.

For the inside of the card I used the same Slimline cards I used on the front of the card.

I added two more "get well" sentiments which are both from Simon Says Stamp's Healing Hugs stamp set.

To The Best Teacher

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

As you can see I created a Slimline Card, the Studio Katia Dotted Slimline Set 1 die set was perfect for this challenge. I love that long oval die.

I looked through my stash and found this older Gorjuss stamp set called New Heights which I thought would make a good teacher thank you card. I need to work on getting a few more teacher cards done before the end of the year.

I used rainbow colors to color in the image and used some crayon paper from Doodlebug Designs for the background.

The sentiment is from Sunny Studio Stamps Teacher Appreciation stamp set.

For the inside of the card I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to create a double pop up card. For the sentiments I used more stamps from the Teacher Appreciation stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Flourished Happy Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a square birthday card I created recently using products from Divinity Designs.

To create my card I used Divinity Designs Square Card Base with Layer die set to create the base of my card. I used the layer die included in the die set to die cut an orange panel. I used the Flourished Square Background die set which is a two die die set, to die cut the flourished layer from orange cardstock and the white solid layer. This die set is from Divinity Designs July 2021 Blessings Box.

For the smaller square panels I used the Square and Scalloped Squares die set. I used the "Happy Birthday" stamp set from the Better Place stamp set for the sentiment on the square panels. This is another set from the July 2021 Blessings Box which is available now.

To decorate the card I used flowers from the Beautiful Blooms Paper/Die Duos Set 2 which was part of the April 2021 Blessings Box.

For the inside of the card I added square panels using the Squares and Scalloped Squares die sets.

I added two more sentiments from the Better Place stamp set and also added flowers from the Paper/Die Duos set I used on the front of the card.
