May Your Day Bloom With Happiness

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for August, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Shape Up - Shaped cards are so much fun and with dies these days can be so easy to create … so for our challenge this week create a shaped card

The hardest part of this challenge was deciding what to create, I had sooooo many options. Finally I decided to create a Flower Pot Card.

The flower pot, pull tab insert and flowers are all from Honey Bee Stamps Flower Pot Card die set, using dies makes creating shaped cards even easier.  I die cut the flower pot and pull tab from burgundy cardstock and the front of the flower pot again from patterned paper and then adhered them together to form a flower pot pocket.

I decorated the top of the pull tab insert using the flowers from the set.

I added the "Bloom" sentiment using Honey Bee Stamps Bloom die set to the front of the flower pot and then added two stamped sentiments above and below that sentiment using stamps from the coordinating Bloom Sentiment Clear Stamp set. I die cut these using one of the sentiment strips from the Banner Builder die set.

To finish off my card I added two bees which are a little freebie I received with a previous Honey Bee Stamps order to the top of the flowers using acetate so it appears like they are flying around the flowers, and a third bee above the sentiment.

On the pull tab insert, I added a sentiment from Stampendous.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Hello, You Nailed It!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Anne Harmon our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

This week Anne has challenged us to create a Card of Encouragement.

For my card today I created a pop-up card using the floating floor die from Karen Burniston's House & Fence Pop-up die set.

To decorate my card I used MFT Stamps Builder Bears stamp set. I have been wanting to use this set for sometime now and finally found a reason to make something with it.

On the top panel (sky area), I added some birch trees on the left hand side and a sun to the top right hand side of my card.

I added a sentiment to the lower portion of the card using a "Hello" die from Crafter's Companion and one of the sentiments from the Builder Bear stamp set.

The photo above is taken at a different angle, where you can see the floating floor part of the card. I also added a fence to the front of the floating floor.

For the front of the card I used some of the same stamps/dies I used on the inside of the card. For the grass I used the new Tucked-In Turf - Vertical Die-namics from MFT Stamps.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Just Swinging By To Say Hi!

Hi Crafty Friends,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create something using supplies we all own.

“Swing” - Our cards this month have to include something that swings .... you could use MFT Stamps Interactive Swing die, create a card using a swing image or create a Swing Card (aka Flip-its card).

Seeing I purchased MFT Stamps Interactive Swing Die-namics earlier in the year, I wanted to play with that again to make another card. When I purchased this die I discovered that over the years I have acquired a fair number of stamps with a swing theme. So for my card today I decided to pull out one of those older stamps.

I used La-La Land Crafts Tire Swing stamp set for the swing portion of the card and the boy is Edwin  with Airplane from Magnolia stamps. I also added a puppy from MFT Stamps Puppy Pals stamp set.

As the tire swing is quite large, this card is a tall card measuring 4 1/4 inches wide by 8 1/4 inches tall.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For the background of my card I used MFT Stamps Mini Cloud Stencil with Catherine Pooler's Skylight ink.

Along the bottom of the card I added grass, which is the new MFT Stamps Tucked-in Grass - Horizontal Die-namics.

For the inside of my card I added grass along the bottom this time using MFT Stamps Tucked-in Grass - Vertical Die-namics. I used this as the one I used on the front would not fit the width of my card.

I also added a sentiment using Honey Bee Stamps Wish Clear Stamp set.

Jumping For Joy

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a fun interactive card to share with you. I love interactive cards and I am loving the new interactive dies that MFT has been releasing lately inspired by the wonderful interactive cards by Laura Dovalo. If you haven't already check out her YouTube channels as her interactive cards are amazing.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For my card today I used the new Interactive Up & Down Die-namics along with the Hop, Flip & Jump stamp set.

For the background of my card I used blender brushes and Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky. I then used white pigment ink and MFT Stamps Mini Cloud stencil to add clouds.

Along the bottom of my card I used a grass border die.

When you pull the tab on the bottom right hand side of the card the lion and hippo both move up and down. The Giraffe in the centre of the card hides the brad that holds the interactive mechanism that creates the movement.

For the inside of my card I added another grass border along the bottom of my card. I added the smaller trampoline and two more of the characters jumping up and down. I also added a birthday sentiment which is included in the stamp set.

Panda Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another birthday card using some of the products from Simon Says Stamp's August Card Kit. I shared a card using this set last week using the stamp set included in the kit and today I decided to use the die from the set ....  Picture Book Panda.

The inspiration of this card came from a recent Crazy 4 Challenges sketch. I added the panda to the squares and then added one of the presents from the Party Like A Panda stamp set to the bottom of the panda. I also added a birthday sentiment to the lower right hand corner of the card.

For the inside of the card, I added some of the leftover patterned paper from the front of the card to the left hand side of the card.

In the centre panel, I added a sentiment using three of the sentiments included in the stamp set and a present.

Divinity Designs - August Color Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created for Divinity Designs Color Combo Design Team Challenge. This month the colours to be used are Cranberry, Sunflower, Rust from the Fall Favorites Paper Collection. For more inspiration from the Divinity Designs Design Team visit the Divinity Design blog.

As I love owls, and haven't used the owl from the Winter Greetings stamp set for a while, I decided to pull that out to play with for my card today.

The striped panel is the Cranberry color, the dots Sunflower color and the solid colors are the rust color. It's a little hard to tell the difference between the rust and cranberry due to the pattern I choice for my card.

I used the Circles and Scalloped Circles die sets to stamp and layer the owl.

The sentiment I white embossed onto rust paper and die cut using the rectangles die set.

For the inside of my card I repeated all three of the papers on the left side of my card.

I added two more sentiments from the Winter Greetings stamp set to the white panel.

Don't forget to check out the Divinity Designs Blog, so you can see what the other Design Team members created for this challenge.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Hello Dearest Friend

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for August, I continue to issue the challenges.

Cut Up Stamping - This isn't a new technique and I have done it many times in the past in various ways. However Jennifer McGuire shared this fun technique a few months ago, so I bought it would be fun to revisit this technique. So for our challenge this week, create a card using the Cut Up Stamping Technique.

You can see Jennifer McGuire's tutorial on this technique here.

For my card today I decided to play with the Altenew Handpicked Bouquet stamp set. I stamped it twice onto white cardstock flipping the cardstock once I stamped it on one side. Once I had added all the colored layers to the image I then masked the flowers and stamped Simon Says Stamp's Sketchy Lines Background using Limestone ink (grey).

I cut the panel down to measure 3 3/4 inches x 5 inches and added foam foam to the back. I then cut the image into four pieces added adhered them to my card base.

I added a sentiment from the stamp set onto black cardstock and die cut using Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builder die set.

To finish off the front of the card I added gems randomly to the panels.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the flower onto two thin white cardstock panels, added the background stamp to the background also. I then cut each panel into three panels layered to dark pink cardstock and adhered to either edge of the card.

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to added the sentiment to the pop up label.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

You're Kidding Me!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another card using some of the new Divinity Designs products from the August Release.

I have created another Z Fold Card using the new Z-Fold Card with Layers die set.

To decorate my card I used papers from three different paper pads ... Weathered Wood (woodgrain paper), Old Glory (blue) and Boho Brights (green).

All of the sentiments are from the Hogs & Kisses stamp set and have been stamped and layers using oval dies from the Ovals and Scalloped Ovals die set.

On the back panel, I added the Chicken Wire background die.

On both centre panels (back & front of card), I added the Farm Fence, the silo from the Barn die set and the cute goats from the Farm Friends Stamp/Die Duo set. I added the "Maw" above each of the goats.
