May Calendar Page

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing my May calendar page I created for my MFT calendar I am creating this year. I know May is almost over … but better late than never right!

To create my scene this month I used the Pure Innocence Farmer Girl stamp set. I stamped the girl, three pigs, a chicken and the haystack onto white card and cut them out. I paper pieced the shirt, overalls and boots of the PI girl. The haystack was created by stamping and masking repeatedly until I got the size I needed for my calendar.

I used Die-namics Grassy Edges and Factory Green for my grass along the bottom and the Die-namics Farm Fence and Natural card stock, I added a touch of Kraft ink on the fence.

For the sentiment I used the Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX and Paver Red card stock.

For the calendar section I used the Die-namics LLD Insert It - 3x4 Insert and the  LLD Journal It - Calendar Basics  stamp set. The Calendar is stamped using Black Licorice Ink and Steel Blue Ink onto Kraft card stock .

The base of the calendar uses Paver Red card stock.

Here are the MFT Products I used to create my calendar:

Stamps: Pure Innocence Farmer Girl; LLD Journal It Calendar Basics – MFT Stamps
Paper: White Card; Kraft Card; Natural Card; Paver Red; Factory Green – MFT Stamps
Die-namics: Fishtail Flags Layers Stax; Insert It 3 x 4; Farm Fence; Grassy Edges – MFT Stamps
Other: Black Licorice Ink (MFT); Kraft Ink (MFT); Steel Blue Ink (MFT); White Embossing Powder; Foam Tape; Copics

Life’s A Picnic

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess for the month Shirley Quarry brings us another fun challenge.

Shirley has challenged us to create a card or project using “It's a picnic” theme.

This week I have created another pop up card using Karen Burniston’s Pop N Cuts Dies from Sizzix. Of course how can you have a picnic without ants … so I have dug up a few of my Rubbernecker ants from my stash.

I used the Pop N Cuts base with the Circle Label insert to create my pop up card. For my picnic basket I shortened the handle as it was too big for my card and it looks more like picnic basket this way.

I created a floating floor to my card so I could add the ant and the big sub and bottles …. I found a template to do this on Karen Burniston’s blog.

These ants look like they are having lots of fun at this picnic … don’t you think!

Here is another view of my pop up card so you can see ants in the background etc.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Stamps: Ants – Rubbernecker; Basket – Darcies; It’s Picnic Time Stamp Set – H & M Stamps
Paper: White; Green; Red; Hello Summer DP – Echo Park; Barbeque DP – Best Creations Inc
Other: Black Ink; Sizzix Pop N Cuts Base; Sizzix Pop N Cuts Label Insert; MFT Die-namics Dotted Scallop Border; MFT Die-namics Sunshine; Foam Tape; Copics

Look Who’s Turning 2!

Hi everyone,

It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for this week’s Wednesday Stamp Club sketch over on the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. It’s another fun sketch Smile

For my card this week I used MFT Stamps Doodle Garden Party Time. To create my card I started by die cutting the Die-namics LLD Insert It – InstaFrame using Smooth White card stock. I stamped the girl on the centre portion of the InstraFrame and for the outer section I used the Mini Chicken Wire Stencil and used my Copic Air Brush to add color to the frame. I added the number 2 to the lower left hand side using the Die-namics Bottom Line Numbers and Symbols which was cut from Berrylicious card stock.

For the base of my card I used Pink Lemonade card stock I decorated this piece using MPD Delicate Doily Stencil and Pink Lemonade Ink. This was layered onto Cotton Candy card stock and then onto a folded Smooth White card.

The blue panel was created using Berrylicious card stock which was stamped using Berrylicious Ink and LJD Spring Backgrounds stamp set. Along the bottom section of my base card I added the loopy border using the Die-namics Looped Border.

The sentiment is from the à la modes Big Birthday Numbers stamp set which was stamped using Black Licorice Ink and the Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX

For the inside of my cad I used stamps from the Birthday Sentiments stamp set. I stamped the top sentiment using Berrylicious ink and the bottom sentiment I used a mixture of Pink Lemonade Ink and Razzle Berry Ink. I also used the Die-namics Looped Border again along the bottom of my card.

Here are the MFT products I used on my card today:

We encourage you all to play along, and to enter your card in the weekly draw for a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch. All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process. After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher! That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along. We hope you'll join us in 2013.

Check out the FAQ - Wednesday Stamp Club thread if you need any further info on this challenge or help on how to upload your card to the SCS gallery.
