Surrounded by Family!

MFTDay3-Family-wm

Hi everyone,

Welcome to day 3 of the MFTeasers in preparation of the release of the new stamp sets which are all due to be released by MFT Stamps this coming Tuesday 4th October.

Today the Design Team are featuring two of the new stamp sets that will be released, these are: Clearly Sentimental About Family  and Clearly Sentiment About Abundance (which will be October’s Triple Scoop set).

I used the Clearly Sentimental About Family set for my card today. The word “family” comes in two different fonts in this set and are individual stamps rather than part of the sentiment so that you can stamp the main part of the sentiment in one color and then stamp whichever family stamp you want in the space provided. You are going to love this sentiment set!

I used the Die-namics Layered Label Die to use for my sentiment.

Here is the inside of my card. I used another of the sentiments from the Clearly Sentimental About Family stamp set. I also used the Die-namics Small Scallop Border along the bottom of my card.

RileyMooseKong-wm

For my second card I used Moose Kong …. wow Riley is now terrorising the city LOL! I added the Moose again sentiment which is from the Moose Sayings 1 set. I figured this could have a few different meanings … Riley missing catching the plane or the plane stopping Riley. Or just plane I moosed your birthday! Whatever you wish it to mean it can mean. The layout of this card is a recent Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC133).

Well that is about it from me for today, now it is time to hop on over to the blog of Juliet Huang and see what stunning creations she has install for you today.

Hello? Hello? Is This Thing On?

MFT-FredMegaphone-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s day 2 of the MFTeasers, in preparation of the release of the new stamp sets which are all due to be released by MFT Stamps this coming Tuesday 4th October.

Today the Design Team are featuring two of the new stamp sets that will be released, these are Inspired By Autumn and Fred Bear and the Megaphone!

For my card I decided to use Fred Bear and the Megaphone … isn’t he the cutest!!!! I am sure most of us have heard someone say the sentence in my title when they are using a megaphone … hehe!

I have used 3 MFT Die-namics on this card. First up the newest die to make an appearance is the Oval Tab … I am loving these Tab dies! The other two dies here are the Die-namics Open Scallop Doily and the Die-namics Say What Die. After coloring Fred Bear with my copic markers, I placed a little blender fluid onto a scrap of towelling and pounced this over the bear to give his fur a little texture.

Hi everyone,

You caught me singing! It’s day 6 of our Riley sneak peeks in readiness of the release of 18 new Movie Themed Riley images this coming this Thursday 29th September by Riley and Company.

For my card today I decided to play with Spidermoose … what little boy wouldn’t love getting a card with this on it! As you can see I kept with the red and blue theme that Spidermoose is on my card as well. The sentiment used here is from Everyday Sentiments.

Riley-Spidermoose2-wm

For the inside of my card I found a spider web in my stash of stamps and stamped it in the top left hand corner. The sentiment in the lower right hand corner is from the Moose Sayings 2 set.

On Baby’s Christening!

CCEE1139-Christening-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess Cindy Haffner, finishes off her month of challenges by challenging us to include a postage stamp, postage card, postage edge on our card. We could pick just one or do them all.

As my daughter needed a Christening card for the Christening of one of her nieces, I decided to combine the challenge with the Christening card. I had already designed a postage shaped card on my gypsy some time ago so I used that design to cut out my card using my cricut machine. The baby used on this is from Lili of the Valley, I so love this image!

CCEE1139-Christening2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, I used a sentiment that I have had for sometime which I stamped in pink.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge over on the Paper Pretties Blog. This week the challenge is to use a sentiment as the focal point on our card.

I used one of the sentiments from the Paper Pretties Sympathy stamp set. I used a recent sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers (SC350), it is similar to a Paper Pretties sketch I created a few months back.

PWC173-Sympathy2-wm

Marilyn Mooseroe!

Riley-MarilynMooseroe-wm

Hi everyone,

It is day 5 of our Riley sneak peeks in readiness of the release of 18 new Movie Themed Riley images this coming this Thursday 29th September by Riley and Company.

This time round I am featuring Marilyn Mooseroe …. isn’t she a cutie! I am just loving these new stamps this month.

A couple of week’s ago I finally succumbed and purchased the Grand Calibur die cutting machine by Spellbinders. I have been umming and ahhing about whether to purchase this for most of this year and finally decided to go for it. I like the idea of being able to use the bigger dies to create cards, boxes, baskets etc. At the time there was only one die I could purchase with it which was the Grand Labels 4 so while I was waiting for others that I ordered to arrive I played with this one.

Riley-MarilynMooseroe2-wm

I ended up creating two projects using this die, the basket above and a card which I will share with you during the Riley release blog hop. Creating the basket was really easy. I die cut the largest of the labels 4 dies and then centred it on my scorpal and scored at 1 inch on either side of the centre. Then I created an open box to go in the centre and attached the handle.

The rest of the Riley and Company Design Team will also be sharing their cards they have created with you this week, so don’t forget to check them out too (You can find a list of the Design Team members on my side bar). We also have a Guest Designer this release who is Gina Lindsay so check out her blog too!

I will be back again tomorrow with another sneak peek to share with you all. Don’t forget the Riley & Company Blog hop which will be held on Thursday 29th September starting at 10 PM EST.

Stamps: Marilyn Mooseroe – Riley and Company
Paper: White; Pink; DP - Magenta
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Spellbinders Grand Labels 4; MS Border Punch; MFT Die-namics Mini Rolled Rose; Bird Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

Creative Chat …. Cardstock!

Print

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum. This month, we were asked the following questions:

How do you store and organize your card stock?

How do you store your scrap card stock?

I have put together a video so you can see how I do this … it’s only my second video so I hope it isn’t too bad.

I also promised a link to a pdf file I created of a chart that you can use to keep track of your MFT card stock which you can find here if you would like it.

Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge and get ready to delve into the minds of our creative team!

If The Broom Fits!

Riley-Pottermoose-wm

Hi everyone,

It is day 4 of our Riley sneak peeks in readiness of the release of 18 new Movie Themed Riley images this coming this Thursday 29th September by Riley and Company.

Everyone who knows me knows that I am a Harry Potter fan … so I was super excited to see Riley Pottermoose make an appearance for this release …. I think someone has been drinking too much Polyjuice potion LOL!

I just love this sentiment from the Moose Sayings 1 stamp set and it works so well with this image, don’t you think! The layout of this card is a recent Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge (SSS125).

Riley-Pottermoose2-wm

For the inside of my card I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set. I was going to make this a Halloween card, but then decided that this would work for birthdays as well … and I need more birthday cards then Halloween ones.

The rest of the Riley and Company Design Team will also be sharing their cards they have created with you this week, so don’t forget to check them out too (You can find a list of the Design Team members on my side bar). Batmoose & Popcorn!

Riley-Batmoose-wm

It is day 3 of our Riley sneak peeks in readiness of the release of 18 new Movie Themed Riley images this coming this Thursday 29th September by Riley and Company.

Having a daughter who likes anything Batman/Nightwing/DC Comics related, I was excited when I saw that one of the Movie themed Riley’s that were going to be released this month was Batmoose! Isn’t he just adorable!! I know my daughter will approve.

RIley-Popcorn-wm

Now you can’t really enjoy a movie without eating popcorn, so another of our movie themed stamps being released this week is Popcorn Riley …. isn’t he a cutie!!!!!!

For my card today I decided to create a popcorn shaped card. I found this template in a carnival themed set over on SVG Cuts.com and had purchased the set just before the circus theme Riley’s were released and then didn’t get around to using any of the templates in the set. So it was good to be able to use one of them this release.

Riley-Popcorn2-wm

Here is the inside of my card. I used one of the sentiments from the Circus Words set and also stamped the popcorn box from the Circus Accessories on the bottom of my card.
