Star of Wonder

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have another Christmas themed Slimline card using products from Divinity Designs including  one of the new stamp sets included in the October 2021 Blessings Box.

To create the Slimline portion of my card I used the Slimline Card Base; Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles and Slimline Rectangles die sets.

On the plain gold panel I used the Slimline Lattice Embossing Folder to add some texture to the panel.

I die cut a panel of paper from the Slimline Shine Bright Paper Pad using one of the dies from the Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles die set. I then stamped the sentiment from the Star of Wonder Stamp set to the centre of the panel.

I added the Nativity image and Star from the Christmas Bulb die set to the centre panel.

For the inside of the card, I die cut the slimline panels using the Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles and the Slimline Rectangles die set. I then stamped another of the sentiments from the Star of Wonder stamp set. I added another of the stars from the Christmas Bulb die set above the sentiment.

Sending Loads of Love at Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie, our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Our challenge this week is to add some texture with a dimensional liquid or paste element on your card. Some examples are texture, crackle, molding or embossing paste, glass bead gel, Liquid Pearls, Nuvo Mousse, Nuvo drops, Crystal Glaze or Glossy Accents (used dimensionally rather than as a glue).

I finally purchased a new bottle of Glossy Accents, which makes it easier to use so I have been adding it to my cards these past weeks anyway, so this challenge was timely.

I have been wanting to make a shaped card using Honey Bee Stamps Big Pickup Cab and Big Pickup Tailgate stamp sets, both images from these sets are symmetrical and with the coordinating dies it makes it easy to make a car shaped card.

I folded my white cardstock in half and used one of the coordinating car dies to die cut my card base. I then stamped and die cut each of the pickups (front and back) and adhered them to the card base. As I was coloring my image using Copic markers this  helped prevent seeing the color from the back of the card and also gives it more stability.

I used the presents from the Loads of Love stamp set, which is an add on set to add the presents in the back of the truck. I also added a Christmas tree.

I die cut the  "Merry" from Bright Rosa's Christmas Words die set from gold glitter cardstock and added that to the tailgate. I found a tiny "Christmas" word to add to the number plate area.

I also added a string of lights across the top of the tailgate using dies from MFT Stamps Christmas String Lights Die-namics set, die cutting the lights from glitter card.

I added Glossy Accents to the tail lights, mirrors and windows.

The front of the pickup can been seen when you turn the card to the back. I have again used glossy accents to the lights and windows.

I also added some Christmas greenery along the bumper of the car.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment using sentiment stamps from Honey Bee Stamps Loads of Love stamp set. I added the "Love at Christmas" which is from MFT Stamps Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set.

I added the hands with the present image under the sentiment which is from MFT Stamps Stuffed Santa stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Santa Snow Globe

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I created using stamps and dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, all dies used were designed by Joset Designs.

To create my card I used the Snow Globe die. I die cut the snow globe frame once from silver cardstock and 4 times from white cardstock, I layered the frames together with the silver frame on the top. For the centre portion of the snowglobe I die cut from navy cardstock and used white paint to spatter over the panel. I used a snow/dirt border included in the Adventure Edges 2 die set to add the snow at the bottom of the snow globe. I die cut the snow globe stand from green 7 white cardstock, layering them so they were the same height as the frame.

I white embossed the Christmas sentiment to the green stand using a sentiment from the Holiday Sparkle stamp set which is included in the Classic Christmas Special Kit.

In the centre of the snow globe I added Santa, using the Santa Claus die set.

I adhered the snow globe and Santa to a 5 inch x 7 inch top folding card. I then added the snowflakes around the snow globe which are also included in the Snow Globe die set.

For the inside of the card I added a strip of patterned paper to the left side of my card. I then added another of the sentiments from the Holiday Sparkle stamp set.

I added the snowflakes around the sentiment which have been glittered using Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Christmas Scenescape Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Create a Scene! For our challenge this week create a card that features a scene of some type… outside or inside.

For my card today I decided to create a inside scene making a Christmas themed Slimline Scenescape Card using Mama Elephant's Scenescape Builder die set.

I die cut the main dies included in the Slimline Scenescape Builder die set from red cardstock. For the back panel I used red and white diagonal striped patterned paper and white cardstock for the sentiment panel on the front.

I used Lawn Fawn's Window Frame die set to create the window and curtains on the back panel of the card, die cutting star patterned papers to insert into the window panels. As the window is large, I cut it in half so only the bottom half is showing on my card.

To decorate the Slimline Scenescape, I used a number of Lawn Fawn stamp sets.

The fire place and most of the images on the fire place are from the Christmas Dreams stamp set. The Christmas tree, kids and presents are all from the Joy to All stamp set. The dogs and bone are all from the Furry and Bright stamp set.

For the sentiment on the front panel, I used the sentiment from the Window Scene Winter stamp set. I also added the lights which are from the Furry and Bright Stamp set.

To decorate the back panel of my card I added the Giant Merry Christmas die.

I added the girl, dog and present from the Joy to All stamp set.

Life Is Like A Bolt of Fabric

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Quilt themed square card I created recently using stamps, dies and papers from Divinity Designs.

For the quilt background I used the new Flower Petal Quilt die and papers from the Christmas Paper 2014 collection.. I die cut the die  to die cut 4 different papers from the paper collection as well as one from white cardstock. I then paper pierced all the various designs to create the patterned quilt.

I layered the quilt onto a scalloped square using the Scalloped Squares die set. This was then layered to a top folding square card using the Square Card Base with Layer die set.

I used one of the sentiment from the Jesus is the Stitch stamp set onto white cardstock. I die cut and layered the sentiment using the Double Stitched Circles and Circles die sets.

For the inside of the card, I added the blue corners to each of the corners of the inside square which were left over from die cut the blue paper in the Flower Petal Quilt die.

I used another of the sentiments included in the Jesus Is The Stitch stamp set which I die cut and layered using the Squares and Scalloped Squares die sets.

Just A Hello

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a floral Slimline card I created recently.

To create my card I used Pinkfresh Studio's Just A Hello Floral stamp set with coordinating dies. I stamped each image twice, so I could use three on the front and one on the inside.

For the background of my card I used Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes die.

The sentiment is also included in the stamp set and has a coordinating die for it.

For the inside of the card, I used the Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes die to create a border along the bottom of the card.

I used the floral image to add to the right side of the card, and another of the sentiments from the stamp set.

Wishing You Peace and Beauty

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas themed Slimline shaker card using products from the new October 2021 Blessings Box. This kits is perfect for making Christmas cards and contains three different styles of Vintage Ornament Shaker die sets .

For my card today I decided to create a slimline card. I used Divinity Designs Slimline Card Base and Slimline Rounded Windows to create the slimline portion of my card. As you can see I went with a dark blue and silver color combo using the silver cardstock included the the Blessings Box Metallic Card Pack. I used papers from the Shine Bright Slimline Paper Pad to add behind the windows in my card.

For the ornaments I used the Vintage Ornament Shaker Set 2 die set to make two shaker ornaments. Inside the ornaments I added silver sequins which are also included in the kit.

For the centre panel I added a sentiment using the new Christmas Season Stamp set. This sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock and then I used the Double Stitched Ovals and Ovals die sets to layer it onto my card.

I always like to decorate the inside of my card when I am in the process of creating. For this card I used the Slimline Layering Rectangles and Slimline Rectangles die sets to create the layers for my slimline card. I again used paper from the Slimline Shine Bright Paper Pad for the top panel.

I added another ornament to the right hand side of the card, this time making it so it wasn't a shaker ornament, so the inside would stay flat.

For the sentiment I used another sentiment from the Christmas Season stamp set, using the Double Stitched Rectangles and Rectangles dies for layering it onto my card.

Wonderful Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I created recently using products from Divinity Designs October 2021 Blessings Box. This time around the kit contains tree different Ornament Shaker die sets, a beautiful background die, two Christmas themed sentiment stamps, metallic cardstock and metallic colored sequins.

For my card today I used the Starry Night Background, I die cut this background from teal cardstock and then layered it to a piece of patterned paper from the Winter Paper Pad. I layered this panel to the Matting Rectangle and then to the A2 Landscape Case Base with Layers die.

For the ornaments I used the Vintage Ornament Shaker Set 1 die set. As the name suggests you can use the ornaments to create a shaker effect, but for this card I just used them flat, die cutting the ornament from aqua and silver cardstock and paper piecing the ornaments together. I added twine to the top of each ornament.

I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Season stamp set and then die cut this sentiment using one of the rectangles from the Sentiment Strip with Layers die set.

For the inside of my card I added the rectangle layers using the Double Stitched Rectangles and Rectangles die set.

I added another ornament to the right hand side of the card.

I added another sentiment from the Christmas Season stamp set which I layered onto the card using the Double Stitched Ovals and Ovals die set.

Snow Owls

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Our challenge this week is ... See through. Use vellum or acetate on your card this week.

I have been wanting to make a clear acetate Slimline card for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity to create one.

I recently purchased Creative Expressions Snow Owls Double Edger die set, so I decided to pull that out to create my "See Through" Slimline Card.  I created the Slimline card so it measures 4 inches high so that I had room to include both the owl and the snow flourish at the top of the card.

To create the Slimline Card I cut a piece of white cardstock that measured 4 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches. I then scored along the 4 1/2 inch side at 1/2 inch to create a tab for the front of the card to be attached to.

I cut a piece of acetate to 4 inches x 8 1/2 inches and adhered it to the white base.

I die cut the snow owl edger and the snow flourish edger twice, making sure they were both die cut exactly and adhered one of the die cuts to the front of the acetate and one to the back.

I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from Colorado Craft Company's Big and Bold Slimline Poinsettia stamp set to the lower right hand side of my card.

To finish off the front of the card I die cut snowflakes from white glitter cardstock and added them randomly to the card, the snowflakes were from an older Elizabeth Craft Designs die set I had in my stash. I also added turquoise glitter dot peel off stickers to each of the snowflakes which ties in with the background panel.

For the inside of the card, I cut a white panel the same size as the back panel (4 inches x 8.5 inches). I then white embossed Scrapbook.com's Slimline Snowflakes background stamp to the panel. I blended Salvaged Patina & Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks all over the panel. I then adhered this to the inside of my card so it could be seen when the card is closed.

As this is a "see through" card, I needed some place to add a sentiment and to be able to write a personal greeting, so I added a snow hill to the bottom of the card using Honey Bee Stamps Slimline Borders die set.

I added the Owl themed Christmas sentiment to the hill which is from an older The Craft's Meow stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Cross Stitch Merry Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas themed Slimline card using dies and papers from Divinity Designs October release.

I used the Slimline Cross Stitch Background die to die cut a sheet of paper from the Candy Cane Paper Die Duos set. I then layered this to a white slimline rectangle panel using the Slimline Rectangles die set. This was then layered to a top folding slimline card using the Slimline Layering Rectangles; Slimline Scalloped Rectangles and Slimline Card Base.

For the sentiment I used the new Slimline Merry Christmas die set, die cutting the top layer from red and the shadow from white cardstock. I layered this onto rectangle panels using the Slimline Pierced Rectangles and Slimline Rectangles die sets.

I added the candy cane to the right side of my card using the Candy Cane die set.

For the inside of the card, I adhered a stripe of the patterned paper I used on the front, but this time without using the Slimline Cross Stitched Background die.

I die cut two more candy canes and added them to either side of the card.

For the sentiment I used one of the frames and sentiments from the Candy Cane Paper/Die Duos set.

Happy 80th

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Number It .... Include a number or numbers on your creations this week. You can make an aged birthday card; number themed designer paper, number themed embossing folders or dies. Anything goes as long as there is a number somewhere!

Originally I had planned on creating an Advent calendar for this challenge, but then a friend asked me if I would make her two 80th birthday cards for her. As I hadn't made my card for this challenge, it was the perfect opportunity to use one for this challenge.

As you can see I created a pop-up card. I used Crafter's Companion Pop-Out Numbers die set to create the "80" for the pop up. After die cutting the pop-out numbers directly into the inside of the card, I then die cut on another color of card which had clear double sided adhesive tape on the front, I then covered  the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

I used floral patterned papers to decorate the top and bottom edges of the card, using border dies from Spellbinders. I also used a scallop border from the same die set to add the scallop border to the paper.

I added the stamped sentiment using an old Simon Says Stamp/Reverse Confetti STAMPtember Celebrate Your Day stamp set.

For the front of the card I used Karen Burniston's Happy Birthday die which I layered using Hero Arts Infinity Oval die set.
