    No Clowning Around!

    Hi everyone,

I recently created a card that needed a whole bunch of die cut stars. I had die cut them using white card stock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front as I wanted to glitter the stars using the colors I had used to color the image of the card. After die cutting all the stars I was left with a piece of cardstock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the front which I thought would make a great background someday for a card.

I poured Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter over the star areas and then colored the stars using Copic Markers. For the background part I covered it with Light Gold Silk Microfine Glitter.

To decorate my card I used the cute clown from the Simon Says Stamp! Costume Critter Party. I white embossed a sentiment which is one I have had in my stash for years.

For the inside of my card I added another clown and a sentiment.

Stamps: Critter Costume Party - Simon Says Stamp!
    Paper: White; Red
Dies: Stars - MFT Stamps; Stitched Circles; Fitted Circles; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs
ECD Products: Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter; Light Gold Silk Microfine Glitter; Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape 101mm

    Cricket Birthday

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created. This one uses new stamps I found while with a friend recently, Cricket is a popular sport down here in Australia so when I saw these two stamp sets I knew they would be useful for male birthday cards.

As you can see I created another pull card using the Pop it Ups Rectangle Pull Card die set. I added the boy playing cricket on the rectangle panel and added the cricket bat and balls on the lower right hand side which is layered onto a circle.

On the left hand panel of the card I added a sentiment which is white embossed onto one of the fishtail banners using the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners.

When you 'pull' the card open it reveals  a sentiment.

Stamps:  Cricket Game; Cricket Bat & Ball - Paper Roses; Happy Birthday - Lucy's Stamps; Geared Up - Darcies Stamps
Paper: White; Caramel; Blue; Burgundy; Just for Men DP - Marianne Designs
Dies: Pop It Ups Rectangle Pull Card; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners; Stitched Circles; Fitted Circles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Versamark Ink; Tumbled Glass Distress Ink; Peeled Paint Distress Ink; White Embossing Powder; Behind the Scenes Cloud & Grass Stencil - ECD; Foam Tape; Copics

    Birthday Bears

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created using products from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I have created another pull card using the Pop it Ups Circle Spiral Pull Card for the base of my card. I added one of the new papers from the  ModaScrap Color of Puppies Girl Paper Pack to the sides of my card.

I used the Krista Schneider Teddy Bear Picnic and Bird-day Party Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies to decorate the card.

I added two border stripes along the right hand side of my card using the Bead Strings 2 die set, to which I added Pink/Silver Glitter Dots Peel Off Stickers.

When you 'pull' the card open it reveals a sentiment which is from the Occasions Clear Stamp set.

Stamps: Teddy Bear Picnic; Bird-Day Party;  Occasions - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Paper: White; Dark Pink; Purple; ModaScrap Color of Puppies Girl Paper Pack
Dies: Pop it Ups Circle Spiral Pull Card; Teddy Bear Picnic; Bird-Day Party; Bead Strings 2 - Elizabeth Craft Designs

    Summer Vacations

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Barb Anders our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off her month with one last challenge.

School will be letting out soon in the US and Summer vacations are being planned. Create a card using a Summer destination theme--could be the beach, the mountains, or simply your back yard in a hammock.
I decided to play with a die I received for Christmas which is a hammock between some palm trees, it was perfect for this challenge. I created an accordion card using the Pop it Ups Gift Card Accordion die set.
Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. I added a sun on either side of the first page so it could be seen either open or closed.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Because

    Hi everyone,

Today I have one more card I created when I was playing with the stamps I made from one of the new ModaScrap Flower Lace dies released earlier this month by Elizabeth Craft Designs. Here I am using the Flower Lace 1 die.

A few weeks ago Sanna Lippert also on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Team shared a card she made using the new flower lace dies which she had turned into a stamp using fun foam. As I loved the idea I had to create stamps from both of my flower lace dies and create a few cards. You can see Sanna's tutorial on how to do this here.

One of the advantages of the new Distress Oxides is that you can use them on dark colored cardstock, so I decided to try them out on black cardstock. I used the Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink to create the background on my card,

I added the A Way with Words - Because sentiment which I die cut from black cardstock and red cardstock. I layered the red sentiment so it was offset slightly over the black sentiment so you had a shadow. I used the Stitched Fishtail Banners for my sentiment.

For the inside of my card, I stamped one of the flower lace images to the top right hand corner and then added a sentiment to the left hand side of the card.

Here is my 'stamp' I created which was die cut from fun foam. Once I had die cut the image I adhered the fun foam flourish onto thick acetate (I used old packaging) so that the stamp was sturdier. I used my MISTI to stamp the image by adding some Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to the back of the acetate to attach it to the door of the MISTI.

Stamps: General Sentiments - Elizabeth Craft Designs
    Paper: White; Black; Red
Dies:  ModaScrap Flower Lace 1; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners; Stitched Rectangles; Dotted Scallop Rectangles; A Way with Words Because - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Fired Brick Distress Oxide; Foam Tape

    CCEE

    Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

This week Lois has asked us to celebrate the CCEE Challenge Team by including something on our card to represent each one of the letters of "our name" C C E E.

Here is what I used for each of the letters:
    C - Circle
    C- Clown Suit
    E - Elephant
    E- Enjoy Your Day Sentiment

When I was trying to figure out what to do for this challenge, I thought about using an elephant with a cake or cupcake. When I went searching through my stash I did find an elephant with a cupcake but I also found this fun elephant dressed in a clown suit so I decided to use that for my card today.

It has been a while since I have used my Pop it Ups Twist Circle Pop Up die set  so I pulled that out too. For something different I decided to make a Twist Circle Window Card that Karen Burniston shared on Youtube last year.

Here is another look at my card taken at a different angle so you can see the pop up part of the card a little easier.

When the card closes the circle twists so the image faces towards the right, as you can see as the card is starting to close in the photo above.

To finish off the card I added stars to the front and inside of the card. The stars where die cut from white cardstock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the front and then covered with Silk Microfine Glitter and colored using colors I had coloured the elephant.

One more photo of my card as it is finished closing.

Here is a look at the front of my card as you can see the card is in a different orientation because the image through the window turned to the right as it closed.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    Follow Your Dreams

    Hi everyone,

Today I have another card using 'stamps' which I created using one of the new ModaScrap Flourish Dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. For this card I used the Flower Lace 1 die.

This card was inspired by a card fellow ECD Design Team member Sanna Lippert created when she shared a card she made using one of the new flower lace dies which she had turned into a stamp by die cutting the die from fun foam. I loved the idea of using the die in this way that I had to create my own flower lace stamps and create a card or two. You can see Sanna's tutorial on how to create stamps from dies here.

This time round I decided to stamp the Flower Lace image using black ink so I could color the image using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. It has been ages since I have played with these. I wanted to have a bright look to the card.

When I placed the 'stamp' on my MISTI I placed it so that it would stamp on one corner and then I was able to turn the cardstock around and stamp on the other end.

I kept the inside of my card simple by adding some stripes of pink cardstock and weaved where they overlapped. I also added a sentiment.

    Ducks in a Pond

    Hi everyone,

I have another card to share today using some of the die cuts I created using the Freshwater Friends die set I received as a freebie from a Die-Cutting Magazine recently.

The background is a digital paper I downloaded which was a bonus option in the magazine. It certainly made making this scene so easy!

For the inside of my card I added a couple more die cuts and a sentiment.

Paper: White; Black; Blue; Freshwater Friends Digital Paper - Die-Cutting Essentials Magazine

    Pizza My Heart

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a Pull card I created using the Pop it Ups Rectangle Pull card die set. To decorate my card I used a digital stamp I have had for some  time ... the Pizza Chef. I also recently got the Lawn Fawn Pizza My Heart stamp set so of course I had to combine the two.

I stamped a stack of pizza boxes using the masking technique for the right hand side of the card.

When you 'pull' the card open it reveals the sentiment on the left hand side of the card. I added another panel which is blank except for the two pieces of smily pizzas at the bottom so I can write a personal greeting.

Stamps: Pizza My Heart - Lawn Fawn; Pizza Chef Digital Stamp - The Paper Shelter
Paper: White; Black; Red; Sunkissed Cool Treats DP - Doodlebug Inc.
Dies: Pop it Ups Rectangle Pull Card; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Rhinestones; Foam Tape; Copics

    Hoot Hoot Hoo-ray!

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Barb Anders our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge. This time round Barb has added an extra twist to the challenge by turning the sketch into a birthday card seeing it is Barb's birthday today.

As you can see I have changed the square layout to a rectangle layout, but other than that the sketch is the same. As my card was owl themed I used a couple of owl sentiments on the front and also added a tiny owl from Papertrey Ink at the side of the fishtail banner.

For the inside of my card I used a new owl (for me) that came from a friend in the UK via my daughter who was visiting there recently. I paper pieced various designer papers onto the owl, it seems like ages since I have used this technique.

As you can see I have created a pop up card, I used the pop up that comes with the Pop it Ups Hot Air Balloon die set. On the top part of the card I added a Speech Bubble from the ECD Speech Bubble Edge Options die set and added a sentiment.

On the bottom edge of the card I used the Cloud die from the CountryScapes Clouds & Grass die set.

I used a number of different owl themed sentiments from various companies, the advantage of having so many owl stamp sets. I could pick the ones where the size and theme suited my card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
