Sent with Love

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time for our January Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team Designer challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today to see what our talented designers created for the challenge. We are a little late with our challenge this month as we have been busy sharing all the fun new products that were released this month.

"You Fill My Heart" - Valentine's Day is less then a month away so for our challenge this month create a card that would be suitable for Valentine's Day.

For today's challenge Elizabeth Craft Designs are giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on our website to 3 winners

To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us "What Elizabeth Craft Designs dies or stamp sets would you use to create a Valentine’s Card?

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing

The winners will be announced on Friday, February 1st on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

The heart is from Becky Seddon's Heartfelt Love Die set, I used the inner decorative part of the heart which I die cut into a piece of white cardstock that was die cut using the largest square from the Fitted Squares die set. This was layered onto a piece of red cardstock using the Stitched Squares die set.

For the base of my card I used the scallop square from the Garden Scene die set. This is attached to a top folded card that measures 5 1/2 inches square when folded.

The sentiment is from the Valentine Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

The tiny hearts are from the heart edge from the Valentines Edges die set. I placed three above the sentiment and then some more to the centre of all the hearts within the die cut heart. These were then covered with Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops.

For the inside of my card I die cut the heart edge from the Valentines Edges die set and adhered this to a strip of patterned paper from the ModaScrap Cucina with Love Patterned Paper pack.

I added two more sentiments from the Valentine Sentiments Clear Stamp set and added a few tiny hearts around the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Don't forget to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see all the wonderful creations by our talented designers and for a change to win the giveaway.

Sparkle Heart Love

Hi Crafty Friends,

With Valentine's Day only a few weeks away I thought I would make another Valentine card.

A few months ago I purchased the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkle Dot Pattern 1 stamp set, I thought it was about time I played with it. I used the heart from the stamp set to stamp onto a white heart shape and then adhered some jewels from Little Things from Lucy's Cards to each of the dots.

The heart, squares and sentiment are all from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The "love" sentiment is die cut from gold & black and then when it was layered I offset it slightly.

For the inside of the card I die cut a heart from the same designer paper I used on the front of the card and then added a sentiment from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Love Sentiments.

Black and White Lake Scene

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Did you know that the 25th January is Opposite Day … For our challenge this week make a card/project that has opposites on it. Think opposite colors, on the color wheel, stripes and polka dots, black and white, mirror image, etc.

As you can see the 'opposite' I selected for this challenge was the colors black and white to create an Easel or Stand Up Card.

I had just received some of the new dies which were being released from Elizabeth Craft Designs this month and I wanted to play with this gorgeous Lake Scene die designed by Becky Seddon. There are so many different ways you can use this die, but for this card I kept it simple just die cutting from black cardstock and layering it onto white cardstock.

This die comes in two parts the postal edge square and the inner lake scene, so you also have the option of using the postal edge square as a stand alone die to create bases for your cards.

I die cut a postal frame on it's own to layer to the bottom panel of my card

For the sentiment on the base of the card I used three of the sentiments from the Words Set 3 - Happy Holidays die set which includes sentiments for many of the important events over the year. The sentiment is layered using the Stitched Fishtail Banners die set and I have also used one of the edges from the Valentines Edges die set.

To finish off the card I added some Black Nuvo Drops.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. It folds nice and flat.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Butterfly Easel Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am playing with one of the new Becky Seddon dies which was released by Elizabeth Craft Designs this month.

I decided to create an easel card using the butterfly and for the background I played with my alcohol inks.

As you can see by the angle of this photo, I die cut a couple of butterfly images so I could have a few layers and have the wings appear like they were flying.

For the sentiment on the base of the card I used one of the sentiments from the new Joset Designs Spring Sentiments.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Spring Sentiments - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Paper: White; White Yupo Paper

Gnome Accordion Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Liz Williams our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Liz has given us what she calls "An easy one for the end of the month" – Show us your favorite technique in card making

Well of course my favorite technique in card making has to be creating interactive style cards of any sort.

It's been a while since I have made an accordion card and it is fun to see that Karen Burniston has released her Fancy Label Accordion card die set again .... I have missed it! Karen has also released a set of two Fancy Flourish Frames to go with the accordion card. This time around Karen has given us 2 of each of the frames which makes it much quicker to die cut the frames when you have a number of pages to decorate.

To decorate my accordion card I have used a stamp set from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps called Gnome Home, there is also a coordinating die set to die cut the mushrooms, flowers and grass.

Here is a close up of the first two pages of my accordion ... I just love that gnome peeking out from the top of the mushroom.

I used distress oxide inks to create the sky of each of the panels and die cut the grassy areas using green papers.

Here is a look at the front of the card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

ECD Design Team Focus on New Release - Krista Schneider

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today the Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team are doing another Focus on New Release blog post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. This time around we are focusing on Krista Schneider, there are eight new Clear Stamp sets with coordinating dies and four new 6 x 6 Background Stamps being released.

For my card today I have used Krista Schneider's Laundry Party Clear Stamp set and the Stripes Background stamp.

To create the background for this card I stamped the Stripes Background onto watercolor cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. I then used brushos in lemon, yellow, orange and scarlet in a striped formation and added water. Once the background was dry I die cut it using the new Dashing Squares.

For the circles I used the Dashing Circles and Fitted Circles which I trimmed on two sides and adhered the bunch of flowers. The sentiment is layered using the Stitched Fishtail Banners.

For the inside of the card I added another floral image from the Laundry Party stamp set and added the sentiment from the Word Set 2 - Thinking of You.

ECD Design Team Focus on New Release - Joset Designs

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today the Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team are doing another Focus on New Release blog post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. This time around we are focusing on Joset van de Burgt or Joset Designs, there are ten new die sets; two clear stamp sets with coordinating dies and one new sentiment stamps being released.

For my card today I have created a pop-up card using seven of the new die sets and the sentiment stamp set as well as a few other previous released dies.

To create my card I used some of the patterned papers from the ModaScrap Fly & Scrap 12 x 12 Patterned Paper Pack. I used two of the pop-up dies using the General Pop-ups die set, the bunny is adhered to a pop-up which is slightly further out then the basket.

The basket, eggs and grass were created using the Spring Basket die set, I die cut this from White Soft Finish Cardstock and then colored using various inks.

The bunny was also die cut using White Soft Finish Cardstock and then colored using copic markers.

Along the top of the card I added a speech bubble from the Edgy Options Edges die set and then added the "Happy Easter" sentiment which is one of the many holiday themed sentiments included in the Words 3 - Happy Holidays die set.

Along the bottom edge of the card I added a semi circle which was die cut using one of the circles from the ModaScrap Dashing Circles die set.

I added flowers which are from the Small Flowers & Large Flowers die sets. To finish off the inside I added the "to you" sentiment from the Words 1 - Celebration die set.

For the front of the card I have used the Entwined Egg die set to create the egg shape, adding flowers also included in this set.

The "Happy Easter" sentiment is from the Spring Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

I added the bunny to the base of the egg which was created using the Bunny die set.

Don't forget to visit the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see what the other Design Team have created using the Susan's Garden new release dies.

Let's Shellabrate

Hi Crafty Friends,

I received the Honey Bee Stamps Seashell Card die set for Christmas, so I decided it was about time I pulled it out to play with it.

Of course I love pop-up cards so decided to convert my shell card into a pop-up card using the pop-up die from Karen Burniston's Tree Pop-up card die set.

To create the background on my layered part of the card, I used alcohol inks and yupo paper.

I have had the Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid Song stamp sets for a few months now, I think up until now I may have only used a sentiment or two from the set. It has awesome sentiments, which was the main reason I purchased this stamp set. After testing a couple of mermaid stamp sets I have I decided this one would work. It looks like the mermaid is overhanging the shell, but when the card is closed you can't see the mermaid.

I added a sentiment and star fish to the base of the card stamping in black ink and embossing using Silver Pearl Embossing Powder.

For the front of the card I die cut the decorative shell die from the same pink card as I used for the base of the card, I then inked up this piece using VersaMark ink and covered it with Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. I repeated this step a second time and then adhered this to my alcohol inked shell shape.

I added another sentiment from the stamp set and a few Nuvo Jewel Drops to the sentiment panel.

Supplies:

Stamps: Mermaid Song - Honey Bee Stamps
Paper: White; Yupo Paper; Pink
Dies: Seashell Card - Honey Bee Stamps; Tree Pop up - Karen Burniston
Alcohol Inks: Pink Sherbet; Shell Pink; Salmon; Pearl Mixative; Blending Solution
Other: Black Ink; Silver Pearl Embossing Powder; Strawberry Coulis Nuvo Jewel Drops; Nuvo Shimmer Pen; Copics
