Butterfly Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline card using a few of the club kits from the Spellbinders January 2025 Club Kits.

I used the Hemstitch Slimline die set to create the layers of my card. I found this older pattern paper from a Made To Surprise Paper Pad which I thought would go well with the butterfly. The butterfly is from Spellbinders Take Flight Betterpress Set which is the January 2025 Betterpress of the Month.  The sentiments are from the Clear Stamp of the month for January called Nature’s Dance.

For the inside of my card I added another layer using the dies from the Slimline die set I used on the front.

I added another butterfly and a birthday sentiment which is also from the Nature’s Dance Stamp set.

An Adventure Was Going to Happen

Hi Crafty Friends,

Thanks for stopping by my blog, today I am sharing a Pooh themed Slimline Easel Card I created recently.

For my card, I used the dies from the new Spellbinders Classic Pooh Collection.I saw these were going to be released in January when I was checking out the "Coming Soon" section on the Spellbinders website before Christmas  and have been impatiently waiting all year (yeah ok a month) for them to make it downunder.

My Slimline Easel Card measures 8 1/2 inches x 4 inches. I wanted the extra height so I could include all the characters from the various sets.

To create the card base, I used Lawn Fawns Lawn Fawn's Grassy Hillside Borders die set to add all the grassy areas on both the front and inside of the card.

I also wanted Pooh to be sitting against a tree, so I pulled out a tree die from Hello Bluebird to use for that.

All the other die cut elements used to create this scene are included in the three "Pooh" themed die sets from Spellbinders. I spent a day assembling a heap of characters and so far have been able to make two cards from what I created and have enough left over for at least 2 or 3 more cards, which I will share as I make them.

And finally a look at the bottom panel when it is opened up. I added the honey pots and flowers to each side of the card and then a sentiment for a stopper, which will hold the front of the card up. The sentiment is from the Silly Old Bear Betterpress Plate set.

February 2025 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our February Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is ... "Bouquets" - Make a card of any theme featuring a bouquet (Note - bouquet doesn't necessarily mean flowers!)

As you can see I went with flowers! I used Karen Burniston’s Flower Pot Pop-up along with the Flower Pot Add-ons & Popcorn die set to create my pot or vase of flowers & the flowers. All the flowers etc are die cut from coloured paper that has small polka dots on them.

I used the label from the Rectangles & Labels Crosshatch die set to add the sentiment & also one for a personal message. The sentiment is from the Seasons Sentiment stamp set.

For the front I used the same papers as I used inside the card. I added the “Happy Birthday” to the centre. I then added a few flowers & butterflies which are from the Flower Pot Add-ons die set.

Pond Postage

Hi Crafty Friends,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I am sharing a 5 x 7 Faux Post Birthday card I created recently.

For the postage part of the card, I used Waffle Flower Crafts Postage Collage die set along with The Pond Postage Collage Stencil set. I layered this to a top folding landscape 5 x 7 card. I used the Shimmering Water stencil to create the water pattern on this panel. I also added a wax seal to the lower left hand corner of the card.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment from the Pond of You stamp set.

Monster Love Valentine

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing two super cute Valentine platform cards I created recently which I will give to my grandchildren.

Both these cards use products from Spellbinders December 2024 Club kits. For this card I used the Large Die of the month, which includes the die for the platform card; the Clear Stamp of the month & 3D Embossing Folder of the month.

The card folds flat so that it can easily be placed in an envelope.

Both cards are the same other than using a different monster and the colours used. After embossing the large red heart using the Tiny Heart Scallop 3D Embossing Folder, I used a white pigment ink to add colour to the hearts.

Here’s a look at the pink monster card when it is lying flat ready to be placed in an envelope.

Here is a back view of my cards. I die cut an additional red heart and attached it to the back of the embossed heart, so I had a place to add a personal message.

Raise a Glass

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline Pop-up card I created recently. It seems forever since I have made a Slimline card and I do enjoy making them, so much so that some years ago I established a Slimline Addicts Facebook Group which now has over 9000 members! It's good to be able to make one again finally.

For the front of the card I used products from Spellbinders Papercrafts. The hand and friendship beads are from the Beads of Friendship Collection, for this card I used two of the die sets and the Betterpress set from this collection which you can see in the supply list below. The drink is from the Love on the Rocks die set.

For the background I used Spellbinders Rosette Burst 3D Embossing Folder which was part of the November Club Kits, I just love this embossing folder. I embossed on white cardstock and then used my blending brushes to add Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink over the top. I also splattered black ink over the background.

To finish off the front of the card I added a sentiment which is from an older MFT Stamps stamp set called "Raise a Glass".

For the inside of the card, I first decorated the two side panels using the same background I used on the front of the card.

I then used the new Karen Burniston Triple Platform Pop-up to add my three sentiments. This is such a fun pop-up and is one of the new dies from Karen's January release. The two side sentiments are from the same stamp set and the one of the front. The top one is from a The Greetery stamp set.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action

For my card today, I used the Fishing Boat Add-ons die set with the Boat Pop-up die set to create this fun pop-up card. Inside the boat is a man with his fishing rod and a pail with his catch in it.

I added the sentiment which is from the Fishing Sentiments Clear Stamp set. I stamped two of the sentiments onto white card and then used one of the banners from the Banners Crosshatch die set to die cut it out. I added this to the top left hand corner. I added a smaller banner to the right side, for a place to write a message. I postioned this banner so that the fish on the patterned paper weren't covered up.

The fisherman inside the boat was created using the Paper People die set. This includes a die that cuts out the body of a person and then lots of accessories to add hair, beard, clothes etc.

I kept the front of my card simple, seeing the focus is on the inside of the card. I added a small panel of the patterned paper I used on the inside to the right side of the card. I used the Circles Crosshatch die set to add the layers on the left side. I added another sentiment from the Fishing Sentiments stamp set and then added the fishing rod and fish.

Well that's about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list, which is Jennifer Webster

Just Popping Up To Say

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing a 5 x 7 Pop up card using some of the new die & stamp sets from Karen Burniston’s January release. All new products will be available on Monday 27th January.

Who doesn’t like popcorn! This fun & yummy card uses Karen Burniston’s Flower Pot Pop-up die set along with two new die sets that were designed to work with this die …Flower Pot Add-ons & Popcorn die set. The Flower Pot Add-ons die set includes a decorative base with built in tabs to fit the Flower Pot Pop-up as well as a few new flowers that can be used to decorate it. The Popcorn die set includes dies to create a bix of popcorn which can be used as a stand alone die or as I have here to create a 3D popcorn box from the Flower Pot Pop-up.

I cut strips of red and white cardstock to create the end panels of my card, I die cut the end using the Long Nature Edges die set.

The sentiments used on the card are from the new Popcorn Phrases stamp set. I used the labels from the Rectangles & Labels Crosshatch die set for the sentiment panels.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple seeing the focus is on the inside of the card. I had a small piece of the red & white card over, so I made use of that. I added the Happy Birthday & Happy Birthday Shadow die sets to add the large sentiment. I also used one of the sentiments from the Popcorn Phrases stamp set.

Double Triple Slimline Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline Pop-up card, using stamps and dies from Karen Burniston’s January release which happens on Monday 28th January. There are 8 new dies and 4 new stamp sets that will be released.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

As you can see I have created a double pop-up card using the new Triple Platform Pop-up die set. This die fits nicely, and as you can see when you create a slimline card there is room for 2. I decided to created a landscape style card and as I wanted to use some of the new sentiments from the Bouquet Sayings stamp set, I turned the labels the opposite way then they were designed to be. You can normally get 3 labels on the pop up (hence triple platform), but I decided to just use 2 each pop up and then added the stars to the top (or side in the case of my card). Because I changed the orientation of the labels and added two pop ups, I did need to be careful where I posted the labels so they they didn’t cause problems when the card closed with the labels overlapping.

For the front of my card I added the Happy Birthday and Happy Birthday Shadow die. I added the lollipops to each side of the sentiment which are from the new Bouquet Bits die set.
