Celebrate

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline Pop-up card I created for my daughter who celebrated her birthday last week.

Earlier in the year Crafter's Companion released a set of Pop-Out Individual Numbers die set. Loving Pop-ups of course I had to add this to my stash, I finally got a change to pull this die set out to make a birthday card.

If you follow my blog, you know I have been enjoying playing with the Missees Range of dies and stamps from Studio Light. As this card is a special one for my daughter, I wanted to use the dies to create a card that features my daughter on the front. Hopefully she will see that it is meant to be her!

I used the three Missees die sets that I own, although there is a new die set which at the time of making this card is somewhere between the USA & Australia.

For the fancy border in the background, I used Dare 2B Artzy's Curve Slimline Borders Die set. I added the "Celebrate" sentiment from Catherine Pooler Designs to the right hand side of the card.

To finish off the front of the card I added light pink clay hearts randomly over the card.

As mentioned before, for the pop-out I used Crafter Companion's Pop-Out Individual Numbers die set to add the pop-out "45"

I used the Dare 2B Artzy dies that I used on the front of the card, to add the border panel to the top and bottom edges of the card.

To finish off the card I added the "Happy Birthday" die cut which is from a Karen Burniston die.

Here is one more look at the inside of my card, looking at it from a different angle.

Give A Hoot Gift Card Holder Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Give a GiftMake a card with space for a gift card, on the front! (So not insidehe card) It can be a pocket, some type of interactive mechanism or even part of your main design. Alternatively, create a gift box or package.

The background of my card using a Slimline Stamp from Stampendous called Slimline Birthday Words. It looks like a lot of coloring, but really no difference to coloring in many images.

For my card today I pulled out an older Lil' Inker Designs Give A Hoot Gift Card Holder die set. Of course being an owl lover, this is my favorite gift card holder. I die cut the gift card holder from purple polka dot paper.

Here you can see my card with the doors/wings of my gift card holder open so you can get to the gift card.

For the inside of the card I added a scalloped border to both edges using Scrapbook.com's Slim Borders die set.

I added the "happy birthday" using Picket Fence Studios Slimline Happy Birthday die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Game On!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Yesterday was my grandson's 11th birthday, so today I am sharing a birthday card I made that his aunt gave to him.

Like most boys of his age, he loves playing computer games and is also into Pokemon right now, so that is the theme I decided to use for this card.

A number of years ago MFT Stamps released the Game Controller Die-namics set and the Level Up Sentiment Stamp set, both of this sets were released from their vault last year, so are both available again. So I decided to pull those out of my stash to use on my card today. I also found an old 12 x 12 paper pad that had computer game themed paper.

I don't know anything about Pokemon, and don't have any stamps etc, so made a few of Pokemon balls to embellish my card.

For the inside of my card, I created a pop-up card using Crafter's Companion's Pop-Out Individual Numbers die set. I die cut the numbers off centre towards the left side of my card. I die cut the numbers again in green to layer over the pop out numbers, add a background to the numbers using Simon Says Stamp's Sketchy Lines Background.

I used Photo Play Paper's #9 Borders die set which are a Slimline die set to die cut the patterned paper along both edges of the card.

I decorated the inside of the card using the small game controller dies included in the Game Controller Die-namics set and added two sentiments from the Level Up Stamp set.

Here is another look at the inside of the card from a different angle, so you can see the pop up portion of the card a little better.

See You Later, Alligator

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Liz Williams our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Liz tells us that she has had all her vaccines, so maybe this year can mean a road trip. May 28this National Road Trip day.  Your creation might include a map, a wonderful scene, an exhausting shopping spree to out of town spots you haven’t ventured to in quite some time. You might want to include a car if you would like on your card. Have fun, and if a road trip is not on your agenda, take a virtual one in your imagination.

I recently purchased Lawn Fawn's new Slimline Road Border dies, so of course I wanted to use them for my card along with a number of other Slimline dies from Lawn Fawn. The full list of dies used is included in my supply list below.

To decorate my card, I used the alligator driving the card from Craftin' Desert Divas and also one from Hello  Bluebird.

For the inside of the card I used more Slimline dies from Lawn Fawn to create the grass and road on the card.

I left the sentiment out of this card, so I can add something to it when I know what this card would be used for.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

You're In My Thoughts

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Get Well themed Slimline card with you all using a Slimline die from Catherine Pooler Designs.

To create the colorful background I used Catherine Pooler inks in Catching Rays; Orange Twist & Pucker Up. I then used Catherine Poolers Light Burst Slimline die to create the decorative overlay.

For the sentiment I used one of the sentiments from Spellbinders More Sentiments Hot Glimmer Plate set. It's hard to tell in the photo, however the sentiment has been foiled using gold foil. I die cut the sentiment using the pierced sentiment strip from the same set.

To decorate the sentiment strip, I used flowers from Karen Burniston's Flip Frame Pop-up die set.

For the inside of my card, I created a background panel using the same inks I used on the front of the card. I then used the Light Burst Slimline die to die cut the panel. I trimmed the panel down to about half and adhered it to the bottom edge of the card.

I added another gold foiled sentiment, this time using a sentiment from the Mini Everyday Sentiments Hot Glimmer Plate die set.

To finish off the card, I added a few tiny flowers which are also included in the die set that I used to create the flowers on the outside.

Coffee Always Better with a Friend

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a coffee themed Slimline card that I created recently.

For todays card I used Photo Play Paper's Lattice Coverplate die which I die cut from white cardstock and then layered to a striped patterned paper from Trinity Stamps. I liked the way the patterned paper looked through the squares/rectangles on the Lattice Coverplate die. This was then  adhered to a top folding Slimline card that measures 8 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches.

I used Picket Fence Studios' Sponsored By Coffee stamp set. I used cardstock and patterned paper to paper piece my image. I added the sentiment to the left side of the image which is also included in the stamp set.

For the inside of the card I die cut the lattice coverplate and the patterned paper to create another background panel. I cut this down and added it to the bottom portion of the inside of my card.

I added the sentiment using sentiment stamps from Honey Bee Stamps.

Sending Big Hugs

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Get Well themed Slimline card I created recently using some new products from both Lawn Fawn and Catherine Pooler Designs.

For the Slimline portion of the card I used Catherine Pooler Designs new Cleo Slimline die layering the die cut onto a blue panel that I  created by blending Catherine Poolers new inks in Tranquil and Cove Blue.

I die cut Lawn Fawn's Sending Big Hugs sentiment die from White Glitter Cardstock and a mid blue cardstock, layering the two together slightly off setting them.

I added the "get well" sentiment which is from Picket Fence Studios Ways To Say Get Well stamp set.

To decorate the card I added the hugging critters which are from Lawn Fawn's new Happy Hugs stamps set.

For the inside of my card, I added the "Thinking of You" sentiment from Concord & 9th's Thinking of You Perfect Pairings die set. I so love this die and I am sure I will be using it a lot.

I added the stamped sentiment underneath the die cut one which is also from the Picket Fence Studios stamp set that I used on the front of my card.

Hello Sunshine

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline card I created recently. Earlier in the year Scrapbook.com released a number of slimline dies, being someone who is having so much fun creating slimline cards I had to purchase a few.

My card today uses Scrapbook.com's Slimline Sunshine Sunny Days die, I used yellow cardstock to die cut the image. For the background I die cut a rectangle panel from white cardstock and then used shades  of blue ink from Catherine Pooler Designs ... names of the inks used are included in the Supply List below. This was then adhered to a top folding slimline card that measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches.

I used the "Hello" die from Gemini's Hello Edge'able Word die sets. The "sunshine" is from Karen Burniston's Word Set 6 - Summer die set.

For the inside of the card, I die cut a rectangle slimline panel using Picket Fence Studios' Nesting Rectangles die set. The cloud border along the bottom of the card was created using Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline Borders die set.

I added the sun to the left hand side of the card using Hero Arts Infinity Circles and Infinity Star sets. To finish off the card I added the "Wishing You Sunny Days" using a sentiment from Hero Arts Beach Heroscape stamp set.

Bubbly Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off her month with one last challenge.

For our challenge this week Rebecca has given us the theme ... Tags! Make a project using a tag as an embellishment or layer.

For my my card today I decided to create a Mini Slimline Card using Karen Burniston's Tag Book Pop-up die set on the inside.

I had planned on making a Mini Slimline Card that measured 3.5 inches x 6 inches, however when I added the tag book mechanism to my card, the rounded tags peeked out at the end slightly. In the end this turned out to be a good things as I added the bubble border to the ends of the card which I may not have done otherwise. I used white pearlescent cardstock to die cut the bubble border.

To decorate my tags and card I used two stamp sets from Lawn Fawn ... Bubbles of Joy and Dandy Day.

I used the bubble border die along the bottom edge of each of the tags and squares so it looks like the mice are creating lots of bubbles.

I covered the front of my card with patterned paper. I pulled out a very old sentiment stamp I had in my stash to add the birthday sentiment, seeing the card was a bubble theme it suited the card the best.

I added a few more of the mice randomly over the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Pawesome Thanks

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a pug themed Mini Slimline card. My daughter has a pug and recently she had an operation on her nose to make it easier to breath. My daughter mentioned that should like to send the vet a thank you card ... so this is the result.

I created the mini slimline card using Trinity Stamps Clean and Simple Mini Slimline Panels die set. I used two  of the dies included in the die set to create the 3 panel theme from white cardstock. I then used white cardstock using one of the nesting dies included in the set to die cut a white panel. I used this panel to add blue ink using Distress Oxide inks. I added the grass along the bottom edge of the blue panel before adhering the white 3 panel frame to the top.

Frankie, the pug that had the operation, had to wear  a cone for a week and a half so I decided to pull our my Whimsy Stamps Wrinkles stamp set. I added Frankie before the operation on the first panel, Frankie with the cone on in the centre and then Frankie upside down because of the cone on the last panel.

The sentiment at the top of each panel is from Lawn Fawn's Critter Chatter Pets stamp set.

I layered the decorated panel to a black layer and then to a top folding mini slimline card that measures 6 inches x 3 inches.

For the inside of the card I added the "thank you" sentiment from Sunny Studios Stamps Teacher Appreciation stamp set. The You are pawesome is from an older Simon Says Stamps You're Pawesome stamp set.

I added another pug to the lower left hand side of the card.

As I don't have any  Mini Slimline cards at present, but I do own Trinity Stamps Mini Slimline Card and Envelope die set I decided to make a Mini Slimline Envelope. The envelope is very simple, just die cut from thin white cardstock with another of the pugs on the lower left hand side of the card.
