Super Heroes Comic Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Super Heroes - Yesterday 28th April was Superhero Day. Include a superhero or two on your card this week. (Interpret Superhero any way you like.

Having a daughter who has always been interested in Super Heroes, I seem to have collected super hero stamps and dies over the years. My latest addition to my collection is Mama Elephants Little Superhero Agenda stamp set, so I decided to use that to create my card today.

Mama Elephant also recently released a Slim Comic Strip die set, which includes the comic strip frame and the speech bubbles that have the different words. So I created a Slimline card using this stamp set.

I few years ago I purchased Sunny Studio Stamps Heroic Halftones paper pad which works perfectly with the die set and images.

I added the cityscape die from Mama Elephant's Slim Film City die set.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card. I used another piece of the paper that I used on the front of the card, which I added to the back panel and about an inch to the edge of the bottom edge of the card.

I used the cityscape die again to add to the back panel.

To create the pop-up portion of the card I used the smaller of the angled platforms to add the 4 little pop ups along the fold of the card. I then added the cute little superheroes.

I added the birthday sentiment to the base of the card using two sentiments from Penny Black's Wet & Wild stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Looking Sharp

Hi Crafty Friends,

I thought it was about time I pulled out my alcohol inks to create a background for one of my cards, of course I had to try it to create a Slimline Card.

I used alcohol inks in yellow/orange colors on Yupo paper to create my background. After applying the alcohol inks onto my paper, I then used an Air Blower to move the inks around to create an interesting background.

I used the Catherine Pooler Designs Chevron Slimline die to die cut a panel from black cardstock and then layered this over the alcohol inked background. This was then layered onto a side folding white slimline card that measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches.

To decorate my card I used the cactus and pot using Concord & 9th's Stuck on You die set. For the sentiment I used a sentiment from Sizzix Cacti Fold-A-Long die set.

I had a thin strip of the alcohol inked background left over after cutting it down for the front of the card, so I added this to the edge of the card.

I die cut the other cactus included in the Stuck on You die set so I added that to my card.

Finally I added a birthday sentiment using a sentiment from Darcie's Stay Sharp stamp set.

Sending You Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline card I created recently.

To create my card I used Spellbinders Slimline Flowering die set. I die cut the main two dies from green cardstock to create the decorative panel which I then layered to a blue panel of cardstock and then adhered to a top folding Slimline card that measures 3 /12 inches x 8 1/2 inches.

As this  design included tiny flowers over it I wanted to add colored flowers over the flowers in the pattern. I found some that matched pretty close in a Lawn Fawn Flower Hillside Pop-up Add-on die set. I die cut the flowers from pink cardstock, shaped them a little and then adhered yellow pearls to the centres.

I used a birthday sentiment from Altenew's Birthday Builder stamp set, which I embossed using gold embossing powder and then die cut this using the rectangle die included in the Slimline die set. This was foam mounted to the centre panel.

For the inside of the card I die cut a piece of green cardstock using just the rectangle die included in the die set.

I then added a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps which is stamped onto an oval from an older Spellbinders Mega Ovals die set.

I die cut a scrap of green cardstock using the decorative overlay die included in the die set to get some leaves that matched the front of the card and then added a few more pink flowers over the top.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day Slimline card I created recently using the new Karen Burniston Flower Pivot Panels die set. It is inspired by a card my friend Karen Aicken created a month or two ago using the Heart Pivot Panels die set.

This slimline card measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches, the front of the card measures 5/12 inches in length when closed so that you see a part of the back of the card when you are looking at the card when closed.

I used the largest die from the Crosshatch - Long Rectangles die set to die cut the patterned paper panels for all of the layers. For the shorter panels, after die cutting the rectangles, I repositioned the paper into the die so I could make the panels fit the size of the panels.

I added the new Happy Mother's Day sentiment die to the front of the card, which is one of the new dies being released on the 26th April USA time.

When you open the card you can see the new Flower Pivot Panels die set.

I used rectangles and decorative rectangles to add to the card which are all from the Slim and Flaps Frames die set.

The butterflies adhered to the Flower Pivot Panels frame are from the Backyard Charms die set.

The "Love You" sentiment is from the Pop 'N Swap die set.

Floral Happy Birthday To You

I have a birthday themed Slimline card to share with you today.

To create my card I used one of the stitched rectangle dies from Picket Fence Studios' Slimline Nested Rectangles die set to die cut patterned paper from Catherine Pooler Designs Best Friends Slimline Paper Pad.

I added the birthday sentiment to the centre of the card which is from Concord & 9th's Perfect Pairings Birthday die set. I did cut this from pink and white cardstock and offset the to diecuts to create a shadow.

I added two flowers using the flower dies from Karen Burniston's Flowers & Bee die set. The flower colors are inspired by the colors included in the patterned paper.

For the inside of the card I die cut the white panel using another of the stitched slimline rectangle dies from the Picket Fence Studios die set.

I stamped the sentiment using Divinity Designs Let's Celebrate stamp set. This stamp set is included in the July 2020 Blessings Box.

I added another two flowers to the panel using the Karen Burniston Flowers & Bee die set.

Love Life And Be Girly

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Nicky Foden our challenge hostess for the month finishes of the month with one last challenge.

This week Nicky has given us an Inspiration Challenge - apparently the piece of artwork below has been calling to her, use it as inspiration to make a card. Take a minute to zoom in as there are a lot of colours that aren’t as noticeable at first glance.

When I looked at the artwork I saw the colors white, black, grey, gold/yellow, peach and pinks so that is what I took for the inspiration to create my card today.

I pulled out my Studio Light Missees die and stamp sets to create this fun girl ... Betty, Carol & Tasha. The face features use stamps from the Tatjana stamp set. Black of course is the hair, glasses, sentiment and various other trims on the girl. Grey is the patterned paper which is from Catherine Pooler Designs Best Friend Slimline Paper Pad. Gold/Yellow is of course the dress, scarf, headband and bow. Peach is the girls skin and pink the fingernails and cheeks.

I used one of the rectangles from Picket Fence Studios Nesting Rectangles die set to create my side folding Slimline card that measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches.

At the top of the card I used Whimsy Stamps Comic Speech Bubbles die set to add the speech bubble. The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set that is included in the Missees Carol die/stamp set.

For the inside of the card I created a double pop-up using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

I added two strips of grey striped patterned paper to either edge of the card with a sliver of black cardstock for trim.

I die cut two of the arms from the Missees Tasha die set and added those to either side of my card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Butterfly Birthday Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a birthday themed Slimline Card with a Gift Card Pocket to share with you today.

To create my card I used Divinity Designs Slimline Card Base, Slimline Layering Rectangles and Slimline Rectangles. I used the Beautiful Blooms Slimline Sized paper pad for the background layer of my card.

To decorate my card I added the Gift Card Pockets with Layers die set to create the gift card pocket on the right hand side of the card. I added the Happy Birthday and Layers die set to the front of the gift card pocket.

The butterfly was created using the Butterfly Layering Combo die set.

For the inside of the card I created the layers using the Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Scalloped Rectangles die sets.

I added a sentiment using one of the stamp sets from the Let's Celebrate Stamp set.

Brewing Up A Cup Of Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

t's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Apparently the 21st April was Tea Day, create a card that features tea or coffee.

For my card today I decided to go with a tea theme and pulled out some older stamps from La La Land Crafts ... Tea Time Marci and Tea Time Set stamp sets. It's probably no big surprise that I created a Slimline card to create a room scene. I used papers from Lawn Fawn for the wall portion of my card, die cutting the paper using one of the rectangle dies from Trinity Stamps Stitched Card Panels & Windows die set. For the floor I used Penny Black's Wood Floors die set.

I used an older tea themed sentiment from The Cottage Stamper Inc. to add the sentiment to the top portion of my card.

For the inside of the card I created a pop up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I used the labels from the Paper Frames Pop-up die set to add the sentiments to the card. I added a sentiment from Close To My Heart's Tea-rrific stamp set to the top pop-up. For the second sentiment I used the "You are" from the first sentiment and then added the "BEAU-TEA-Ful!" from Art Impressions Valentine Bears stamp set.

To finish off the card I added the cup and tea bag which is also included in the La La Land Crafts Tea Time stamp set.

I Am

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created using the new stamp set from Divinity Designs April Release.

For my card today I used one of the sentiments from the I Am stamp set. I created an A2 card using the A2 Landscape Card Base with Layer die set along with the Matting Rectangle die to add the black layer panel.

I used patterned paper from Divinity Designs Landscapes Paper Pad, this has beautiful designs included in the pad which work perfectly with this stamp set.

The sentiment is layered using circle dies from Double Stitched Circles and Circles die set.

I Hop This Springs You Joy!

 Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline Card I created recently.

Whimsy Stamps have started releasing some amazing Slimline paper packs each month. Many of them are scenes that you can use for the background of your cards, just decide what images you want to use to add to the scene and it is done. One of the recent packs is called Enchanted Forest, this pack has 30 single sided sheets with 2 of each design. I have been drooling over this pack so when I saw that it was available in an Australian shop that my daughter was purchasing my birthday present from, I asked her to add this too.

I used one of the rectangle dies from Picket Fence Studios' Nesting Rectangles die set to die cut the patterned paper, this gives a nice stitched edge around the paper. This was then adhered to a brown layer and then to a top folding white slimline card that measures 3 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches.

To decorate my card I used the cute critters from LDRS Creative Friends Like You stamp set. I added one of the sentiments included in the stamp set, cutting it in half.

For the inside of the card I die cut a white rectangle panel using the same die I used for the front of the card. This was layered to a brown rectangle panel and then adhered to the inside of the card.

I used Honey Bee Stamps Happy die set and Happiness stamp set to add the sentiment to the card.

To finish decorating the card I added three of the cute critters that I used on the front of the card.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For my card today I used the new Waterfall Card and Happy Mother's Day Sentiment Die sets to create a Mother's Day Slimline Waterfall Card. This die set gives you the option to either have the individual panels of the waterfall card to be either square or with a fancy bottom edge. As you can see I opted for the fancy bottom edge.

For each of the pages of my waterfall I pulled out a few "girly" type charm sets. On the first page I used the Dolled Up Charms set to add the nail polish and lipstick.

When you pull the tab at the bottom of my Slimline card it reveals the next page of the waterfall which features the ring and necklace from the Treasure Charms die set.

The sentiments used on the pages all come from Word Set 9 - Love die set.

For the third page it reveals the perfume bottle which is also from the Dolled Up Charms die set.

For the final page I used the chocolate dies from the Love Charms die set and the drink from the Happy Hour Charm set.

Here is a look at all the pages altogether.

As the focus of this card is the front of the card, I kept the inside fairly simple. I added strips of the patterned paper to each side of the card.

For the sentiment I used the sentiment from the Celebrate die set, this was layered onto a rectangle from the Waterfall Card die set  which helps to reinforce the tab for a bit more strength.

I also added another bottle of nail polish to the bottom of the card.

Well that is about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list which is the wonderful Karen Aicken

Here is the complete blog hop list if you need it.
