Hey, It's Been a While!

Hehe ... it hasn't really been a while at all ... but I figured it was easier to use the sentiment for my title for this post so there you go!

Today starts the beginning of a busy week of teasers & sneak peeks to share with you for two releases coming later this week .... MFT & Hanna Stamps. This card uses one of the new stamps from MFT stamps which will be released on Wednesday 2nd July.

My card combines two challenges .. first up this weeks MFT sketch challenge over on the MFT member forum of SCS and also the challenge I do each week with my goofy CCEE friends on SCS.

Our challenge this week is a color challenge ... we had to make a card using black & brown. We were allowed to use other colors in your image, but the card had to be mostly Black and Brown.

I think I have met the requirements for this challenge ... I did color the chair pink ... which helps draw the eye to the image ... but everything else on this card is either black or brown. To see the rest of my CCEE friends cards or to play along with our challenge visit our CCEE Stampers blog.

My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, July 2 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. July marks MFT's 2nd birthday, and Kim's 40th, so we'll be celebrating all over the place!

*$2.00 US shipping for orders under $40, and for Intl orders and US orders over $40, they'll receive the same $2.75 discount until July 15th.

*FIRST 50 orders will receive a full sized stickles glitter glue!

*The Girl Who Wants It All special for the July Collection is $49.95. T

Head over to the MFT forum on SCS to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

Butterfly Gift Bag!

Today I am sharing a cute little gift bag I made on Thursday with a few friends of mine ..... my friend Trish came up with this idea. The butterfly is stamped in pomegranate ink and then heated using heat and stick embossing powder. Glitter was then sprinkled all over the butterfly. The gift card opens so that you can write your greeting inside the card.

Sitting with a Bear!

I like doing a sketch challenge on Saturday mornings so this morning I headed over to Taylor's blog ... Taylored Expressions to get her sketch to play with. Today I decided to use another of those cute Sweet Ebony stamps from Sugar Nellie ... one day I might do Taylor's sketch challenge and actually use one of the many cupcake stamps I own LOL ... but for today they were not calling out as loudly as this image was haha!

The girl was stamped onto white card and then attached to the folded blue card .... I decided to add the 2 thin brown stripes to each side as I felt it needed something else when I had finished my card and they seems to be what it needed.

The scallops of my awning were created using my corner rounder with the guide removed ... I used a small hole punch to create the holes in each of the scallops ... this was then attached to my card using tape at the top part and foam tape along the bottom so that is is slightly raised and looks more like an awning.

I added the brown ribbon to the lower portion of my card and also added the 3 rows of paper piercing along the bottom right edge ... the middle row is extended slightly. I added the birthday greeting to the bottom left of the card .

Stamps: Sweet Ebony sitting With Bear - Sugar Nellie; Sentiment - Gina K
Paper: White; Brocade Blue & Chocolate Chip - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Brocade Blue SU Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Corner Rounder; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Punches; Hole Punch; Foam Tape.

Merry Moosemas!

This is officially my first Christmas card I have made for this year .... one down ??? to go haha!

Ok some of you are probably thinking how can this be your first Christmas card cause we saw your Thomas Kinkade one you made on Saturday ... simple!!!!!! I made this card BEFORE I made the other card/cards ... I have since made more cards similar to the one I posted on Saturday. This card however was made last Wednesday when the SC came out on SCS .... it was made as a sample for the Pajama party that was held on the Hanna Stamps member forums f SCS last Friday.

After doing the SCS sketch challenge from last week I remembered I had this little scene all stamped out waiting to be made into a card and decided that it would work perfectly with that sketch so set to work making my card.

I used the snowflakes cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the red base card. The snowflakes were die cut using a cuttlebug snowflake die, using white glitter card I found at a recent papercrafts show. The sentiment is from the new "words Riley would say" these are fun sentiments that work well with all the Riley Moose images.

Stamps: Tree Riley, Snowman Riley & Words Riley Would Say - Hanna Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Real Red, Tempting Turquoise & Garden Green - SU
Other: Black Ink; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Red Brads; Snowflake Die; Snowflake Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Clear Glitter Glue; Foam Tape

Is It Nine Months Yet!

I have a friend who is pregnant who can probably relate to this card ... haha ... and she still has a few month to go before she is at 9 months! (wave to Kimme!)

One of the challenges at the Hanna Stamps pajama party last week was an inspiration challenge ... the inspiration piece were 3 pair of pajama's and we were to use one of those to inspire our card.

I went with the pair that had green, blue and a touch of purple in them. I wanted to make a card using both these Riley & Sophie stamps that were released last week so I decided to make a shadow box card.

I used the lattice background from Cornish Heritage Farms to create the background on the green card. I paper pieced the dress Sophie is wearing. All circles were created using the circle nestabilities dies.

Stamps: Pregnant Sophie & Stroller Riley - Hanna Stamps; Lattice Backgrounder - CHF; Sentiment - MissyB Designs
Paper: White; Gable Green; Orchid Opulence - SU
Other: Black Ink; Cool Caribbean SU Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Word Window Punch; Flowers; Blue Brads; Foam Tape

And my final card I made for the pajama party challenges ... is for the Getting Punchy challenge ... to use at least two punches on your card. I used an oval & designer label punch for my sentiment on this one .... I also used the petite oval nestabilites ... not use if I can count them as punch or not but they are fairly similar to punches right.

Poor Riley isn't feeling the best here ... but hopefully with some tender loving care he will "Feel Better" soon!

Stamps: Get Well Riley - Hanna Stamps; Splatter Background - Printworks; Sentiment - Papertrey Ink
Paper: White; Kraft, Black & Always Artichoke - SU; DP - K& Co
Other: Black Ink; Always Artichoke SU Ink; Oval Punch; Designer Label Punch; Petite Oval Nestabilies; Black Brads; Foam Tape

Quick & Easy!

Another quick card using today's sketch challenge on SCS ... this one was really easy and quick to make because there was no stamping ... it is all designer paper.

This designer paper comes as you see it here all in squares ... so all I had to do was pick 9 squares I wanted to have on my card and cut them out and then layer it onto my black and mustard card. The focal image here is again from this same paper ... I just cut out an additional square and layered that too. I guess I could have also cut out the centre square from the larger piece of that matter ... no one would know once the card was completed after all.

Wish all cards were as quick to make as this one LOL!

Oh someone just commented on my previous card I made and asked what size card I normally made. Well to be honest they vary ... it really depends on the image I select and the layout etc. More often then not my cards are bigger than the standard size card which of course means it costs me more to post them. I do sometimes make standard sizes ... as I said it just depends!

Papers: Black; More Mustard - SU; DaVinci DP - Stamp It (Aust)

Feeding the Cat!

I am not 100% happy with this card .... but after fiddling with it for ages, I had to say enough is enough and be done with it. This is for this weeks sketch challenge on SCS.

I just adore this image which I received in the mail this afternoon shortly before the sketch was posted so of course I had to play with it. I used my rectangle nestabilities for the layers of the main image. The ribbon was white and I colored it with my copic markers. The small tiny squares were cut using square punches.

Stamps: Sweet Ebony Kitty - Sugar Nellie
Paper: White; Regal Rose; Pretty in Pink; Cool Caribbean - SU; DP - Fancy Pants
Other: Black Ink; Rectangle Nestabilities; Foam Tape; White Grosgrain Ribbon; Square Punches

Arrrrgh Pirate Riley!

Ahoy there Mateys! I am back with another card I made for the pajama party challenges last Friday night. This was the "Getting Fuzzy" challenge and for this we were to use fun flock somewhere on our card ... I added it to Riley's antlers.

This is a fairly simple card ... I don't think it needs any explanations ... I do have fun using pirate stamps!

Stamps: Pirate Riley - Hanna Stamps; Rough Texture Wheel - SU
Paper: White; Black; Real Red - SU; DP - Sandylion
Other: Black Ink; Jumbo Eyelets; Sword Button; Foam Tape

Best Friends!

As you all probably know by now my CCEE friends and I do a weekly challenge ... once a month we do a supply challenge where one member sends everyone the same supplies and we have to create our card using them. This month was Cindy Haffner's turn and she sent everyone this cute "Friends Furever" set by MFT. Isn't this such an adorable image!!!!

Cindy also told us that we had to use 2 different DP's on our card ... I decided to do a color blocking card using SU's fall flowers DP. I also used the same striped DP to stamp the little girls top and cut that out and attached it over the image on the white card. Oh that reminds me ... the stamps is actually a little boy hugging his dog ... but I wanted to make it a little girl so after I stamped my image onto my white card, I just added a pony tail to the hair and then added a ribbon.

I used the long rectangle nestabilities for the scallop layer ... it was cut smaller so it would fit the image as needed. I stamped the bone onto sahara sand card and then sponged around the edges with soft sky ink. I also added some paper piercing to the top right hand corner of my main image. Check out the dogs collar .... lots of bling!

Don't forget to check out our new CCEE Stampers blog .... where you will find all the other cards my CCEE friends have made. Also starting from this week we are opening up our challenges to include you .... check our blog for more info on this.

Stamps: Friends Furever - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Cool Caribbean, Old Olive, Sahara Sand & Fall Flowers DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Soft Sky SU Ink; Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon; Blue Brads; Paw Print Brad; Green & Blue Flower; Long Rectangle Nestabilities; Green Gems & Foam Tape

Goin' for a Walk!

Here is my card for this weeks MFT sketch challenge over on the MFT member forum of SCS. For this one I used the girl & dog from "Gone to the Dogs" & the hat from "Can Ya Dig It".

I stamped the girl onto white card and then used my petite oval nestabilities to cut out all the oval layers. I stamped the girl again on the DP I used for the base of this card and cut out the dress only and paper pieced it to the girl. I masked the girl stamped the oval at her feet using green ink.

The pink panel was created using the floral fantasy cuttlebug embossing folder ... I sponged on some Cranberry Ink over the raised areas.

I used oval punches for the layers of the dog image and attached it to the card using foam tape. I then cut a thin strip of card and used this for my leash.

Stamps: Gone to the Dogs & Can Ya Dig It - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink & Cranberry Crisp - SU; Sugared - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Old Olive & Cranberry Crisp SU Ink; Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Petite Oval Nestabilities; Oval Punches; Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon; Cranberry Brads; Foam Tape

Here is another card I made for yesterdays Hanna Stamps pajama party over on SCS. This was a color challenge and we were to create a card using the color scheme of our bedroom. This was the closest I could get to my bedrooms color ..... I used Always Artichoke; True Thyme & Bravo Burgundy.

I decided to make my card a surprise pop up and I used the new school Riley that was released after the party last night. If you need to know how to make one of these there is a fantastic tutorial in the resources section of SCS.

Here is the inside of my card when you pull the slider out ... I used the sentiment from Bookworm Hanna .... this works so well with this stamp.

Stamps: School Riley & Bookworm Hanna Set - Hanna Stamps; School Background - High Hopes Stamps; Discover - Making Memories
Paper: White; Always Artichoke; True Thyme & Bravo Burgundy - SU
Other: Black Ink; Always Artichoke SU Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Word Window Punch; Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon; Hole Punch

Joy, Peace Goodwill & Answering Questions

Well I have finally got out of my pajamas .... the pajama party is over and most everyone has gone to bed, except of course for me as it is still daytime down here in Australia. So I decided to get my Beate's weekend sketch challenge card made.

I ended up playing with my Thomas Kinkade "Christmas Village" stamp ... it is only 6 months to Christmas now so it is time for me to start thinking of getting some cards made if I want to have enough to send out to all my friends and family. This is actually the 2nd Christmas card I have made this year .... I have another which I will post later in the week using some of the new Hanna Stamps Riley images that were released today.

Stamps: Thomas Kincade Christmas Village & Backgrounder - CHF; Sentiment - Stamp It Aust
Paper: White; Silver; Blue Bayou & Not Quite Navy - SU
Other: Blue Bayou SU Ink; Blue Brads; Silver Ribbon; Scallop Punch; Circle Punches; Foam Tape

Answering Questions:

I have had a number of people ask me about the owl in the circle card I posted yesterday.

The Owl is from a set by Penny Black called "Fresh New Day"
The sentiment is from a set by Hero Arts called "You Hoo Owls"

Hope that helps everyone who are searching for those stamps ... I will edit my previous post so it contains this info.

Stamping In My PJ's!

Hi everyone, we are having lots of fun over in the Hanna Stamps Members Forum of SCS today ... we are all "Stamping in our PJ's"! If you have some time come on over and check it out ... we have a bunch of fun challenges which you can do .... and there are prizes!!!!!!! Don't ya just love prizes ... I know I do ;) .... you have until Monday evening to upload your cards to the SCS gallery to be in with a chance to win!

Now not much of a big deal I guess stamping in your PJ's esp for you guys in the Northern Hemisphere cause it is night time there ... but it here is mid morning hahaha so of course I have to wear my PJ's too .... they are owl PJ's so I don't mind! Actually sometimes I get so engrossed in what I am stamping I do forget to get dressed until that card is made so really it isn't a great sacrifice I am making!

One of the challenges today is one I am hosting ....

Star Light Star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Create a card which includes a star/stars .... you can use your stamps star punches; DP; star brads ... whatever you wish.

I made two cards for this challenge ... the first one is another twistaflex card ... I have had fun making these. I also had fun playing with the new Riley stamps by Hanna Stamps .... which are also being released tonight .... it has been so hard keeping this a secret for the last few weeks cause I love the new Riley stamps ... there are 20 new ones plus the new "words Riley would say" set and they are so much fun!!!!!!! I will have a few more cards that I made for the challenges which I will share with you all this week!

Here is a close up of the front of my card ... the star was created using my circut.

Stamps: Cowboy Riley - Hanna Stamps; Sentiment - The Cat's Pajama's; Wire - Lucy's Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Cranberry Crisp - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Real Rust SU Ink; George Cricut Cartridge; Black Pearls; Black Grosgrain Ribbon

Here is my second card for this challenge ... using the new Baby Riley ... isn't he/she adorable. I made mine a boy card for the simple reason that I only needed the 3 stars to spell out the word "Boy" ... this was actually a sketch I found online ... unfortunately I forgot to write down where I got this one from ... so if this is yours or you know please leave a comment so I can edit this to give proper credit!

I used the star wheel to create the background for this card and punched out 3 stars to use for the word "BOY"

The centre panel behind the circles was created using the baby cuttlebug embossing folder.

Stamps: Baby Riley - Hanna Stamps; Star Wheel - SU
Paper: White; Bashful Blue & Brilliant Blue - SU
Other: Black Ink; Bashful Blue SU Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Baby Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Bashful Blue & Brocade Blue SU Grosgrain Ribbon; Star Punch; Rub On Letters; Foam Tape

Amy of Prairie Paper & Ink blog is hosting a challenge for A-Muse-A-Palooza. I don't have any A muse stamps and the time limit is also probably up now ... but I have always wanted to play with this sketch for some time now so I decided to play anyway just for fun!

I used this cute owl stamp from Penny Black ..... I first discovered this stamp when my friend Tosh used it on a card she created and of course I just had to have it as she looks soooooo adorable (the owl ... although so does Tosh hehe!) The sentiment is from another Owl set this time from Hero Arts which I received from Tosh earlier in the year for my birthday.

You Make-Up My Day!

Today's card is for this weeks OCC challenge that can be found on Our Creative Corner's blog. As this weeks challenge was a sketch challenge and I love doing sketch challenges ... I decided to play along ... this particular sketch was designed by my friend Cindy Haffner.

I decided to play with my Stamping Bella stamps ... it has been a little while since I have stamped them. The sentiment and nail polish bottle used on this card is from an old SU set called "Glam Girl", the sentiment works so well with this Bella image.

Stamps: Oh So Pretty Bella - Stamping Bella; Weave Background - CHF; Sentiment - SU
Paper: White; Black; Pretty In Pink & Pomegranate - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Pretty In Pink SU Ink; Circle Punches; Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Black Brads; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape

Birds of a Feather!

Well it was easy to decide what I was going to use for my card for the sketch challenge today. Not long before the sketch was posted to SCS I had received my new Pink Cat Studio "QT Hooty Owl" stamps. These owls were just made for this sketch haha!

I decided to keep things bright today (sorry if you need sunglasses ;) ) It is a fairly simple sketch so makes a nice quick card!

Stamps: QT Hooty Owl Stamps - Pink Cat Studio
Paper: White; Black; Real Red & Pumpkin Pie - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon; Orange & Blue Brads; Distress Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Foam Tape

Lasting Joy!

I had been hoping I would get a change to do this week's Mojo Monday sketch that Julee of Poetic Artistry hosts each week. Late last night I discovered what the color challenge was on SCS well I knew both would work well together ... so before going to bed I sat down and created my card.

I seldom use kraft card ... I am not sure why because the look is quite effective I just don't so if was fun using it for this card. BTW I almost forgot to tell you what the colors were for this week's color challenge .... soft sky, kraft and black.

I sponged the edges of the kraft panel that the bird is stamped onto using soft sky SU ink. I used the soft sky designer prints DP for the back panel ... this is actually one whole piece ... I used some black tape I had to create all my black bands ... much easier than trying to line up all those small panels and get them even. I knew I would "need" that tape one day LOL!

I will be back later today with my card for this week's sketch challenge ... can't wait to play!

Stamps: Birds Galore - Inkadinkadoo; Sentiment - Love To Stamp
Paper: Black; Soft Sky, Soft Sky DP & Kraft - SU
Other: Black Ink; Soft Sky SU Ink; Black Brads; Rectangle Nestabilities; Black Tape; Foam Tape

Nanner Nanner Boo Boo!

One of my favorite smileys when I am chatting with my friends in MSN etc is a little guy who is doing exactly what this image depicts. So I just couldn't resist purchasing this stamp the other week when I saw it at a convention I attended. I can think of a number of my friends that this card would suit LOL, they know who they are!!!!!

Stamps: Enthusiasm - Suzy Toronto
Paper: White; Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose, Orchid Opulence & Tempting Turquoise - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon; Square Nestabilities; Corner Rounder; Jewels; Foam Tape

Well it is that time of the month when my goofy CCEE friends & I make our CNFS cards for our CCEE challenge. What is a CNFS ... well that is Catchy Name Featured Stamper! Each month one of us picks the name of someone on SCS who has a "Catchy" user name and we each make a card in her honor and send her the cards we made.

This month the CNFS is "Orangegymnut" on SCS, as the name suggests she likes working out in the gym ... I decided to use my "Getting Physical" Hanna set as the pose Hanna is doing is very similar to the one on Orangegymnut's avatar! Of course like every challenge we do for our CCEE challenges there were guidelines we had to follow which were that we use orange in our card and also it had something to do with the gym.

You know the funny thing about this challenge is that I do not use orange much in my card making ... but when I looked back at the other 2 gym related cards I have made this year using this and another stamp set ... it turns out that each time I have used orange!!! And of course at the time I was not aware of Orangegymnut ... that came later ... but maybe her vibes were coming through anyway LOL!

Check out the other cards for this challenge on our CCEE Stampers Blog.

Oh I used Taylor's cupcake challenge sketch for the layout of my card.

Stamps: Getting Physical Hanna - Hanna Stamps
Paper: White; Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Pumpkin Pie SU Ink; Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon; Orange & Brown Brads; Diamond Rough Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Slot Punch; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape

Dino-Mite Day!

Here is my card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge over at the MFT Members forum of SCS. This week I decided to play with the stamps in the "Dino-Mite" set ... I have played with them for a while and they are sooooooo much fun!!

Of course as I playing with dinosaurs I also had to dig out my Basic Grey Archaic DP ... what could go better with dinosaurs then this DP ... hehe!

I used my long scallop nestablities to layer my dinosaur image ... I cut it apart so I could shorten it a little to get the size I needed.

I wanted real rust ribbon but of course there isn't any ... so I made my own using white grosgrain ribbon and my alcohol pen. I added paper piercing corners to the top corners of my dinosaur panel. I cut a stripe of paper 1cm wide and stamped my sentiment in that ... and then used the word window punch to round both ends.

Stamps: Dino-Mite - MFT
Paper: White; Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip & Real Rust - SU; Archaic DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Real Rust SU Ink; Distressed Stripes & Spots & Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folders; Long Rectangle Nestabilities; White Grosgrain Ribbon; Rust Brads; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape

Oriental Fold Out Card

On Thursday I post a "Thank You Twistaflex" card that I made at stamp club that day. That card wasn't exactly what we were supposed to be doing ... but it was what I ended up doing which was a variation of sorts of what we should have done.

Well anyway ... I decided I would make what we should have done after all ... and here is the end results ... I have a few taken quite a few photos cause I wanted you to see it properly. In the photo above I have turned it on its side so that the girl is standing upright.

Here it is again ... sitting as it would if it was sitting on your table . The DP I used here is another from the origami book I used the other day ... it has some fantastic papers in it.

This card is slightly bigger then the card I made the other day .... it measures 12.5cm (5inches) square when closed, so you need something larger than the standard size card or paper to create it as it needs to be 37.5cm x 12.5cm (15inches x 5 inches).

I took this photo to show you how the little girl is attached to the narrow piece of card that helps keep the card closed. This can also be used as a bookmark at a later stage if desired. The word window punch was used to punch out the slots that the girl panel slips into. Some of the
other girls at club used ribbon instead of the narrow strip of card.

The small horizontal slot punch would also work especially on a smaller size card and your could thread ribbon. The coins are actually brads that I attached to my panel.

Here is the card open ... which will help you work out how I made it ... as you can see it is really 3 panels evenly divided and folded. The right & left panels are both cut diagonally from the top left to the bottom right corners to create the front of the card.

Stamps: Girl - Hanko Designs; Scene - Stamp It (Aust); Sentiment - Rubbernecker
Paper: White; Red; Gold; Oriental DP
Other: Black Ink; Ruby Red SU Ink; Oriental Coin Brads; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape
