Introducing MFT Die-namics!

MFT-Dienamic-Tree-wm Hi everyone,

The MFTeasers are starting a day early this month as we have something very exciting to introduce to you that MFT Stamps will be releasing this coming Wednesday 5th May.

So what is it you ask???

dienamicslogoSMALL

MFT Stamps is PROUD to introduce Die-namics, it’s own EXCLUSIVE, American made line of steel dies! This month there will be 3 dies that will be releases.

For my card I used the jumbo scallops die to cut thin cork to create the ground underneath my tree. The tree with the owl is the new “Sheltering Tree” stamp set that was released a couple of weeks ago. The cloud designer paper used on the background of my card is a digital paper also available from MFT Stamps, you can find it here.

MFT-Dienamic-Tree-close-wm

Here is a close up of the of my cork jumbo scallops. Cork (set of 6, 6 X 6 sheets of 1/16” thick cork) will be available from MFT Stamps on release day for $2.95.

Here is what I used to cut it:

Machine: Big Shot
Material: Thin Cork
Stack (from top to bottom)
cutting plate
die
card stock
cutting plate
platform (completely closed)

MFT-Waves-wm

I also have a tip to share with you all about this die … don’t just use the scallop portion of the die … look what you can do with the inverted part you normally might throw away … doesn’t it look a little like waves! I haven’t done anything with this yet because I only got my dies a day ago, but expect to see a card with it on my blog in the near future.

As I said earlier there are three dies which are being released on Wednesday 5th May, which include:

CloudsSMALL

MFT Die-namics Clouds (element die) (one die, with three different sized clouds on it)
Small – 1.25” wide and .70” tall
Medium – 1.89” wide and 1.06” tall
Large – 2.51” wide and 1.41” tall

Die-namics-Jumbo-Scallop

MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallops (Edge die)
6” long, with each scallop measuring 1.5”

Die-namics-Scalloped-ScallopSMALL

MFT Die-namics Scalloped Scallops (Edge die)
6” long, with each scallop measuring 1.5”

If you would like to see what the other Design Team members have created then hop on over to Kim’s (MFT Lady) blog to see the list of which design team members will be featuring a card/project on their blog today. Catchin’ Some Rays!

PWC101-Catching-Rays-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. If you didn't hop onto my blog via Jackie Rakoski's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman blog.

The challenge this week is hosted by Heather Lee-Reppen, who challenged us to use Punches! You any paper punch, border or regular punch on your project. Nestabilities and other die cuts don’t count.

The stamps the design team are using on our card/projects this week are “Rainy Day Friends” and “Soakin’ Up The Sun” . Both these stamps sets are available for sale this week at 35% off the normal price.

When I first thought about this challenge I had planned on using my beach border punch. But after I had stamped my scene using “Soakin’ Up The Sun”, I found this fun sketch that Friday Sketchers recently had and decided to use that for my card. Of course then my border punch didn’t suit so I just went with circle punches which I used for my sentiment.

PWC101-Catching-Rays2-wm

I also decorated the inside of my card using the same layout as the front of the card.

Want to play along with us

CPS Sketch #164

MFT-CPS164Owl-wm

Hi all

My card today is for this week’s CPS Sketch challenge which is sponsored by MFT Stamps.

I used MFT Stamps “Thinking of Hoo” stamp set to create my card, I think this is one of my favorite owl sets!!!!!! After stamping my image on my card, I used my long rectangle nestabilities to layer.

MFT-CPS164-wm

Here is the inside of my card using one of the sentiments included in the set. I also used Martha Stewarts border punch to create the border, I have had this punch for a while, but I think this is the first time I have used it.

A Little Package

C4C-Whiffbaby-wm

Hi everyone,

Wow this is the last Saturday of the month … isn’t this year just flying by soooooo quickly. Of course being Saturday it means it is challenge time over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Lynda Benden, our challenge hostess for April has come up with yet another fun challenge for you to play along with.

The challenge is for you to CASE one of the cards the Crazy Girls have posted to the Crazy 4 Challenges blog today.

Being the end of April it means that the time is getting very near for my daughter to give birth to my 1st grandson … I can’t wait!!!! She is due mid May! Anyway with that in mind I decided to create yet another baby card LOL. And of course it had to be blue.

I purchased this darling image sometime back from “Whiff of Joy”, but hadn’t gotten around to use it and figured it was about time I finally did. I paper pieced the girls dress and of course colored the babies outfit in blue … it’s a boy *wink*

I used my Nellie Snellen flower punch to create my flowers, that I punched out of the same designer paper as the dress. I sponged around the edges of the petals using blue  ink and then scrunched them up and then attached two flowers together.

C4C-Whiffbaby2-wm

For the inside of my card I used one of the new baby sentiments from MFT Stamps “Clearly Sentimental About Babies” which is the Triple Scoop set for April (yours free if you purchase 3 full sized stamp sets).  I just love this sentiment and how true it is!

I used the new Nestabilities long oval die for both the image and the sentiment. I wasn’t sure when I first ordered this how much I would use it, but now I think I will be using it a lot. It is perfect for those longer skinner images we have.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Stamps: Willow with Toddler – Whiff of Joy; Clearly Sentimental About Babies – MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Kraft; Blue; DP
Other: Black Ink; Grosgrain Ribbon; Long Oval Nestabilities; Button; Nellie Snellen Flower Punch; Brads; MS Cloudy Hearts Border Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

You’re Paws-itively Fabulous!

CCEE1016-DogYears2-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s Thursday already which means it isn’t long before the weekend *smile*. Of course it is also time for another challenge with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess for April, Joanne Grzelak has another fun challenge for us! This week the challenge is a sketch, my favorite kind of challenge and I love this sketch that Joanne has created for us.

Just recently I purchased this cute digi set from Whimsie Doodles, so I decided to use this for my card today. Isn’t that dog just super cute! I added bone paper clips to the angles of the triangle, I am so pleased I finally got to use a couple of these.

CCEE1016-DogYears-wm I decided to decorate the inside of my card as well and added another sentiment which was included in the set.

MFT-Top-Shelf-wm

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. It time to join the MFT Stamps Design Team for another MFT "Who's That Girl Hop!" to celebrate the release of the MFT VIP Kit.

The hop started at Kim's (MFT Lady) blog so if you didn’t start from there you may want to head over there now so that you can start at the beginning of the hop. You don't want to miss anything and believe me there is lots to see!

Top Shelf Sentiments FREE ($9 value)

Also being released today:

Sheltering Tree stamp set $17.95
Sheltering Tree digi paper pack $3.95

MFT-Top-Shelf2-wm

For my first project today, I used the new “WTG Top Shelf”, I love that there are a number of different items to put on the shelves. I used MFT Stamps “My Favorite Paper Packs - Chocolate Kiss” to paper piece the girls dress and the panels on the base of my card. This paper is available as either a 6 x 6 paper pack or as digital paper depending on what you prefer. I also used brown & pink mini braddies which are also available from MFT Stamps.

The sentiment on the inside of my card is from the “Top Shelf Sentiments” which come free with the VIP kit today.

MFT-Impossiblebox-wm

My second project today uses the new “Sheltering Tree” stamp set which is also released today along with the Sheltering Tree Digi Paper. Now I am sure any of you that know me know I love this set cause it has two cute owls hugging each other!

Recently at a stamp club I attend our project for the day was to create a box called the “Impossible Box” ….. so I decided to create one using this stamp set and the Shelter Tree digi paper.

MFT-Impossiblebox2-wm To create the base of the box I printed out the green digi paper from the digi kit at full size. I used my copic airbrush to apply the brown color to the back of the paper …. just on the top 1/3 of the paper so that when my box was closed I had a brown lid rather than white. Of course you could also print two different colors on the paper on either side.

I stamped the tree and the owls on white card, colored and cut them out and attached to my cloud paper panels which printed at a tiny size so I could get tiny clouds. That is the fun thing about digi paper you have control of the size you want the patterns. When I attached my tree I was careful to not apply foam tape to the top of the tree as the brown lid does come down over the cloud paper a little, as you can see in my first pic of this project.

MFT-Impossiblebox4-wm Here is another view of my box, you can see how the box opens at the top.

Well now it is time to say goodbye to me and hop on over to the marvellously talented Megan Lock's blog, to see what she has created.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for dropping by!

Stamps: WTG Top Shelf; Sheltering Tree – MFT Stamps

Choo Choo!

Riley-Trainbook-wm

Hi everyone,

It is time for another challenge with the Riley and Company Design Team. This week our challenge hostess is Cindy Haffner who challenged us all to use chipboard to create our card/project.

I picked up some chipboard covers for my Bind It All recently so I decided to use a set of those to create a notebook. I also found this fun designer paper when I was shopping at a scrapbook store … it might be hard to see because I covered a lot of it, but it had train tracks on it as well as roads so of course I had to pair it with “Train Riley”.

Riley-Trainbook2-wm

Here is another view of my notebook, as you can see I colored my image using the colors in the designer paper.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Design Teams blogs today so see what they created for this challenge.

Scooting Around!

TPE-Scooting-wm

Hi all!

It’s Monday which means it is time for another challenge over on The Pink Elephant blog. This week the challenge is a sketch challenge.

For my card today I decided to use another of the new stamps that were released by Alota Rubber Stamps earlier in the month. This one is called “Skye, Bike, Girl”. I also found a couple of sentiments that I thought worked well with this stamp which are also from Alota, they are included in the “Transportation” unmounted plate.

Rebus – Models of Cars!

Rebus-Car-Models

Happy Sunday everyone,

I have another Rebus puzzle card to share with you all today, this month the theme is “Cars” …. not the make but the model.

Now I am not sure how many models of cars are the same in the Northern Hemisphere, so this might be a little harder then normal. I will give you a little hint … the models I used belong to the the car companies Holden, Ford & Mitsubishi)

If you would like to solve it, why not post a comment to this blog post with your answers. I will let you know what the correct answers are next time I post a rebus card here.

Here are the solutions from last months “j words” rebus.

  • Jack In The Box
  • Jigsaw
  • Joker
  • Jealous
  • Jet
  • Juniper
  • Juice
  • Joyride
  • Jot
  • Japanese

How did you go?????

You can find all my past rebus cards here.
