Shake It

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Our challenge hostess Rebecca Ednie finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Our challenge this week is a color challenge using the colors in the photo below as your inspiration.

For my card this week I have created a Centre Step Card and decorated it using an Art Impression stamp set and some music dies. I used my Scan N Cut to cut out the image, leaving a border around the outline.

For the inside of my card I added a sentiment and a few more music notes.

Owl Tool Holder

Hi everyone,

Over the last few weeks my wonderful husband has been busy renovating my stamping area, I now have a brand new desk and cupboards etc, which I will share with you in a few weeks when it is completely finished.

Anyway since I had a new desk I figured I needed something a little better to hold some of the tools that I use often. While visiting IKEA recently, I found this white pot in the garden area which I thought would be ideal once I had added a few repositionable stickers to it.

I created my repositionable stickers using Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel Off Stickers; Transfer Tape; Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape and Silk Microfine Glitter. You can see a video tutorial Els created this technique here.

Here is how I created my repositionable stickers:

1. Cut a piece of Double Sided Adhesive sheet the same size as the transfer sheet. Remove the release sheet from one side of the adhesive and set aside upside down on your desk (shiny side up). Adhere your Double Sided Adhesive sheet to the front of the transfer sheet (the clear side).

2. Remove 4 Owls and 4 small hearts from the Lots of OwlsPeel-Off Stickers. Place these sticky side up onto the release sheet that we set aside earlier.

3. Take your adhesive transfer sheet and place it with the adhesive side facing down onto the release sheet with the Peel-Offs on it. The Peel-Offs will lift from the release sheet and stick to the adhesive on the transfer sheet.

4. Cover the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and polish with your finger.  Color your images as desired. Cut out all of the Owls and hearts, remove the release sheet from the back of the transfer sheet and place the owls & hearts on the item you wish to decorate, in  my case the white pot.

Here are a few more photos of my owl tool holder I created. This will be the front of the tool holder. I decided to color my hearts blue as that is my favorite color.

I could have just created the one image and put it on the front, but I thought it would be fun to add a few more owls (you can never have too many owls!!!!) so that which ever angle I place the tool holder I am likely to see at least one owl.

Another view of my tool holder this time the back.

And  one last photo. The fun thing about this type of project is that the stickers are now respositionable so if at anytime I want to change the images or move what I have used on this project somewhere else I can do.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

Sliding By

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess for the month Anne Harmon finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently it’s baseball season again.  Promote your favorite team, their colors, or just a baseball theme.

Baseball isn't as popular in Australia as it is in the USA, I guess we are more into cricket! I do remember seeing a game at the Sydney Olympics and did enough the game.

I do however have a number of baseball themed stamps and designer papers for some reason so I had no excuse on being able to make a baseball themed card :).

As you can see I used the Hanging Pull Tab Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. This time around I decided to cut a circle using the Fitted Circles die set and create a giant baseball to put on the Pull Tab.

I used an older Paper Pretties stamp set for the baseball player which I cut out using my Scan N Cut.

The sentiment which is reveal when the tab is pull or slides up is an older stamp set from MFT Stamps ... I figured it worked with both the baseball theme and the style of card I created.

Here is another look at my card taken at a different angle, so you can see how the pull tab slides up.

Here is a close up of my card when the Pull Tab is closed.

And finally the back of my card. I used a couple more stamps on some more baseball themed designer paper.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Real Jazzy Birthday

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created using a few dies my daughter sent me from London for my birthday.

As you can see I have created a Centre Step Card and then decorated it with dies from Tonic Studio.

Here is another look at my card this time taken at a different angle so you can see the folds in the card.

After die cutting the Saxophone Player from black card I adhered it to white card and then used my copics to color in the various parts of the image.

For the inside of the card I added the music border (Perfect Harmony) and added a sentiment which is one I have had for a number of years and works well with this image.

Stamps: Have a Real Jazzy Birthday - Rubbernecker
Paper: White; Black; Yellow; Type T DP - Fabscraps
Dies: Centre Stepper Card - Tattered Lace; Saxophone Solo; Musical Notes; Perfect Harmony - Tonic Studios
Other: Black Ink; Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape 164mm; Foam Tape; Copics

Rockin' Birthday

Hi everyone,

Today I am playing with some dies I got for my birthday from some money given to me.

As you can see I have created a Vertical Stair Step card using the Spellbinders Happy Days die set and then decorated it with the music dies from Tonic Studios.

Here is another look at my card this time taken at a different angle. I attached the guitar to white card that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape over it and covered the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. I then colored the glitter to get the dark pink to match the pink in the designer paper.

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. What I fluke to be able to see the Rockin' Birthday of the sentiment as a whole when it is closed lol!

Stamps: CS Keep on Rockin' - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Believe Devotion DP - Bo Bunny
Dies: Happy Days - Spellbinders; Electric Guitar; Musical Notes; Treble Clef - Tonic Studios
Other: Black Ink; Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape 101mm; Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter; Foam Tape; Copics

You're the Coolest

Hi Everyone,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we get together and go to our favorite paper crafts store and come home with one or two new goodies. So we decided to also challenge ourselves each month using a product we all have.

My daughter had sent me this fun Tattered Lace Diamond Fold Card die from London last month and when my friends and I went shopping last month we discovered this same die at the shop we go to and of course they both had to have it :).

I had previously used this die early in March to create a card which you can see here. This time around I wanted to do something different and I had seen an idea on the Tattered Lace web site about using this die to create a Double Diamond Fold Card which is what I decided to do my my card today. The die actually only cuts the middle portion of the card so you can have the sides whatever size you want. To cut a double I just placed the die into the top cut in the card and ran it through my die cutting machine a second time.

To decorate my card I used some stamps from MFT Stamps which I cut using my Scan N Cut.

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Penguins on Paradise - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Blue; Pink; Yellow; Summer Lovin' DP & Soak Up The Sun DP - Carta Bella
Dies: Diamond Fold Card - Tattered Lace; Outdoor Edges - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Scan N Cut; White Gel Pen; Foam Tape; Copics

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie,  the challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

While April showers bring May flowers, lets use some early spring flowers or plants for this card. Create a floral card or a spring garden.

While I was looking for flower stamps I came across this cutie jumping in a puddle in the rain from C.C. Designs, so I decided to use both this stamp and the one growing a flower for my card today and went with the April Showers bring May Flowers theme.

As you can see I have created an accordion card using the Rectangle Accordion Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here is a close up of the first two pages of my accordion card.

Another close up this time so you can see the last page a little better. The sentiment in the middle page was computer generated.

And finally my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Dream

Hi everyone,

It's my turn to post a project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. Maybe it is the fact that where we live we are quickly approaching winter, but I seem to be drawn to the sea images lately.  I love this patterned paper from the Through the Lens Stone collection, I am not sure about you but when I look at it I see the ocean waves crashing into the sand on the beach. So of course I had to use this to create my beach themed card today.

Here is how I created my card:

Creating the Card Base:
1. Cut a piece of Mustard Soft Finish Cardstock at 5 1/4 inches x 10 1/2 inches. Score along the long side at 5 1/4 inches and fold in half.
  • Using the largest die from the Fitted Squares die set, die cut a square from  Rust Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere to the front of the folded card.
  • Using the second largest die from the Stitched Squares die set, die cut a square using the patterned paper from the Through the Lens Stone Collection 6 x 6 patterned paper. Adhere this to the front of the folded card.

2. Using White Soft Finish Cardstock, die cut both the solid and overlay pieces in the Shells Large die set.  Note: Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to the back of the cardstock of the overlay pieces for easier assembly.
  • Using a blending tool, apply ink to all the pieces and then adhere the overlay pieces to the solid pieces.
  • Referring to the photo above attach all the pieces to the lower right hand side of the card using foam tape.
3. Using the A Way With Words Dream die, die cut piece of Time for Teal Soft Finish Cardstock and Soft Sky Soft Finish Cardstock which has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back of each piece.
  • Overlay the Soft Sky word so that it is slightly offset on the Time for Teal Word and attach to the top left hand corner of the card.

4. The inside of the card:
  • Die cut the A Way with Word Hello sentiment from Soft Sky Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back and adhere to the top centre of the inside of the card.
  • Die cut two rope borders using the Ropes 1 die set from Mustard Soft Finish Cardstock, again using Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back. Adhere rope borders to bottom of card.
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

Magical Day

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess for the month Anne Harmon continues to issue the challenges.

Spring brings lots of changes to our landscapes.  Make a scenic card, and be sure to add some RED!

I received this fun Mushroom Home Stamp/Die set recently from my friend Maryann which I have been wanting to play with since my birthday but haven't had the opportunity. So I decided to make this work for our challenge this week.

As you can see I have created a pop-up card using the Lots of Pops Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I used cloud and grass designer paper to set my scene and then added the various elements to my card.

The elves used on this card are ones I have had for years from Art Impressions, it was fun pulling them out and I used my Scan N Cut to cut out each image ... I am loving not having to cut out these images :). I also used the Scan N cut to cut all the elements on the mushroom house so I could have them in white rather than the kraft color I used for my mushroom.

Here is another view of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the pop up part of the card a little easier.

The sun is from the Oval Pull Card die set.

For the front of my card I have created another scene similar to the one on the inside but with different elves.

Banana Day!

Hi everyone,

Apparently according to the Days of the Year web site today is Banana Day!!!! Of course Jinks the Monkey was calling to me to come out to play to make a Banana themed card for no other reason but I can haha!

I have used the Oval Landscape Accordion Card and Jinks the Monkey die sets designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Jinks is one I had left over from a previous challenge that I had created using Silk Microfine Glitter. I chopped off his head (promise it didn't hurt haha) and repositioned it so that he is reaching out upside down.

Off course I had to add bunches of bananas to my card.

Here is the front of my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Cheeky Monkey - designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs
Paper: White; Black; Green; Wild Life DP - K I Memories
