Floral Happy Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

IIt’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  As challenge  hostess for the month, I finish off her month with one last challenge.

Tomorrow (28thFebruary) is Floral Design Day, for our challenge this week create a card that features a flower or flowers.

As you can see I have created a floral birthday Slimline Card using a Slimline die from Pinkfresh Studio.  I die cut the slimline die from white cardstock and then used Catherine Pooler's Chiffon ink to add color to the panel.

For the flowers I used Pinkfresh Studio's Daisy Wreath Stencil set, this is a set of 5 stencils that you use to build up the various colors to create the design. There is a coordinating die to die cut the finished stencilled piece, but as I don't have that yet I fussy cut around the inside and out side. I adhered those to my card using foam tape.

I added the birthday sentiment to the centre of each wreath using Altenew's Birthday Builder Stamp set and Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builder die set.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray Die Set. I die cut the pop up from white cardstock and then used orange and yellow card to add the letters which were die cut using Lawn Fawn's Oliver's ABCs die set.

I die cut another of the Pinkfresh Studio Slimline Diagonal Stitched Plaid die and added yellow ink to that. I cut it down the centre and adhered this to both edges of the inside of the card.

To finish decorating the inside of my card I created another stencilled Daisy Wreath which I cut out and trimmed the two different flower bunches separately and added to the top and bottom of my card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Day Like A Fairytale

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Manal Habib our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Fairytale Madness - We all have fond memories of the fairytales we heard or read when we were children. So our challenge today is to created something featuring a fairytale, carnival or circus.

I love fairytales, so I decided to go with the fairytale option when creating my card today.

I recently purchased a slimline die and papers from Whimsy Stamps. The die is called Slimline Woodland Cottage, the cottage looks a like a windmill and I love the magical look of the papers. I did some research and discovered there were two fairytales that had a Windmill theme ... one is called The Windmill and the other The Windmill & The Butterfly, so I decided to use those on my card. I added a fairytale sentiment from CC Designs Simply Enchanting stamp set which I have had in my stash for some years.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop Up Hello die set.

I used patterned paper from Trinity stamps and a Slimline die set from Dare 2B Artzy to add the border along both edges of my card.

I added a couple of image that also had a fairy tale theme (nothing to do with windmills) on either side of the pop up. the princess & knight are from Stamping Bella and the castle is from MFT Stamps.

To finish off the card I added another stamped sentiment which was included in the Stamping Bella stamp set.

I used MFT Stamps A-roar-able Friends stamp set to add the dinosaurs and sentiments to the card.

To decorate the inside of the card I used MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills die set to add the grass along the bottom of the card.

I added three of the dinosaurs from the A-roar-able Friends stamp set to the inside.

The "RAWR" sentiment was created using Lawn Fawn's Oliver's ABCs die set.

The "You Are Dynamite" sentiment is from an older stamp set from my stash which is no longer available.

Cheers! It's Your Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a male themed birthday Slimline shaker card to share today.

To create the Slimline card I used Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles die set. I used this to die cut the woodgrain paper and the diagonal striped papers to layers onto the Slimline Card Base.

The paper is from Trinity Stamps Autumn Rainbow Paper Pad.

I used Tonic Studios' Cheers Die and Shaker Set - Beer Glass to create the two beer glasses to create the two beer glass shaker elements that I placed at each end of the card. This set includes dies and shaker pouches.

For the sentiment I used Karen Burniston's Cheers die set and a sentiment from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

For the inside of the card I added the left over woodgrain paper along the bottom of the card.

I used stamps from Darcie's to add the beer mug and sentiment.

Happy Bear-thday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline Pop-up card I created recently.

To create my card I used The Ton's Fractured Coverplate die. I die cut the die using white, pink, purple and lilac cardstock and then paper pieced all the colored pieces into the white frame. This panel was then adhered to a white top folding Slimline card that measures 3.75 inches x 8.75 inches.

I used the bears from MFT Stamps Beary Special Birthday stamp set to add to the front of the card. The sentiment is also from that stamp set.

For the inside of the card I added a pop-up using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Big Wish die set and the alphabet dies from Oliver's ABCs.

I used some of the left over pieces from creating the background on the front of the card to create another panel. I then cut this down the centre and added it to the top and bottom edges of the card.

To finish off the card I added a few more of the images and the sentiment from the Beary Special Birthday stamp set.

Tee-rific Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I made for a good friend who celebrated her birthday last week. My friend loves playing golf, and for as many years as I can remember I have created a golf themed card to give to her for her birthday. After all this time she more or less expects it.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

It's been a while since I have been able to find any new golf theme stamps to use on my card, so I pulled out some of my older stamps to create this card today. However as I am enjoying making Slimline cards I decided to use that format to create my card.

I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Card Panels and Windows die set to die cut the background panel for my card. I cut one from white cardstock and used Catherine Poolers It's A Boy Ink Pad to add the sky to the panel. I die cut another panel from green cardstock and then used MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills to create the grass area.

The golfer and flag stamps are both from Magnolia Stamps.

I added the speech bubble to the top of the card which is from Whimsy Stamps, then stamped an older golf themed sentiment from Paper Pretties.

For the inside of the card, I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Pop 'N Swap Pop-up die set. I had to do a little alterations to the pop-up die as it is larger than the width of the slimline card which is 3.5 inches x 8.5 inches. But altering this die is pretty easy. I added a sentiment to the main panel which is an older one from Rubbernecker Stamps.

Here is another view of the inside of the card, you can see how the two images behind the main panel alternate moving up and down. I had a little trouble finding something golf themed to fit in these places, especially since I had shortened the width that was behind the main panel. The golf ball is from a stamp from DRS Designs, and the golfing peanut is an old stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Coffee with Friends

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

This week being the third Saturday of the month, it's time for a sketch challenge. This time around the sketch is a Slimline card.

For the background of my card I used Catherine Pooler Designs Slimline Circle Squared Cover Plate die. I die cut the die from tan and brown cardstock and adhered it to a top folded Slimline Card that measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches.

For the horizontal strips across the card I used one of the dies from Trinity Stamps Slimline Strips die set.

I used Concord & 9th's Coffee Blend Turnabout Stamp set with coordinating die for the coffee mug on the left die of my card. The friend sentiment is from Trinity Stamps Envelope Builder die set.

For the inside of the card I added the Catherine Pooler Designs Slimline Circle Squared Cover Plate die which I die cut and cut down the centre and then attached to the top and bottom edges of the card.

I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I added a rectangle panel using Waffle Flower Crafts A7 Layering Rectangles die set.

For the sentiment I used the other sentiment die from Trinity Stamps Envelope Builder die set.

To finish the card, I die cut a coffee mug using the die set that coordinates with the Concord and 9th's Coffee Blend Turnabout set.

Be A Rainbow ...

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today we are taking a look back at Divinity Designs February Release. For more inspiration using products from this release and to see the other designers projects, be sure to visit the Divinity Designs Blog.

For my card today I created a Shaker Card.

To create my card I have used Divinity Designs Pierced Frames die set which I have adhered to a piece of acetate before adding the frame and sequins onto a panel cut to fit the frame using paper from the Christmas Collection 2019 Paper Pad.

I used the rainbow and clouds using the new A2 Rainbow and Clouds die set. I die cut the rainbow from white cardstock and then used Copic markers to color each of the rainbow arches.

I added a sentiment from the Rainbow of Hope stamp set to the bottom of the card, stamping it onto an oval from the Double Stitched Ovals die set.

For the inside of the card I added another rainbow and clouds directly onto the white card base. I added the sentiment also from the Rainbow of Hope stamp set under the rainbow.

Pocket Full Of

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Manal Habib our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparent today (18th February) is Love Your Pet Day. So for our challenge this week, we are to make a project that highlights a pet animal. You can add children with pets also.

For my card today I created a Slimline card using Slimline dies from Waffle Flower Crafts.

I used stamps I purchased from Simon Says Stamp! / Newton's Nook Designs STAMPtember promotion

For the inside of the card, I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. As the front of the card features dogs in pockets, I added a pocket using Honey Bee Stamps Stacked Pockets to the pop-up arm of the card. I added an older pocket themed stamp to the pocket label of my card.

For the border panels on both  the top and bottom edges of my card, I used Dare 2B Artzy's Curve Slimline die set. I colored the borders using Catherine Pooler inks in Sauna & Tiki Torch. After inking up both borders I added some stencilling using Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Waves Stencil and white pigment ink.
