What’s The Buzz?

MFT-DG-Bee-wm

Hi everyone,
It’s that time again when the MFT Stamps designs team begins showing our MFTeasers in preparation of the new stamps which will be released by MFT Stamps.  The new products will be available on April 9th at 10 PM in the MFT Boutique.

TeaserTime_FullSize

Be sure to head on over to the MFT Stamps Blog so you can find all the release details, prize information, and inspiration about this release.

For my card today I used the new Doodle Garden – Sweet as Can Bee stamp set, isn’t she adorable. I have used this with the Die-namics Blueprints 2 set …. I am loving how easy it is to create a card using these Blueprints die-namics sets.

Also being released this month is Laina Lamb Design – Border It – Mod Borders ….. I love love this set and you will notice over the release I have used it on a number of my cards. This time round I stamped it onto Smooth White card using Licorice Black Ink & Lemon Drop Ink. Hint: When stamping the same border stamp using different color inks, start in the middle of the card that way you can stamp on either side of the last color you stamped and this way you won’t have to clean your stamp as many times as if you started at the top or bottom of your card.

I have also used Black Licorice card for the base of my card and the large oval piece and Lemon Drop card for the other pieces.

Here is the inside of my card. I have again created my background on my card using the Laina Lamb Design – Border It – Mod Borders stamp set. The oval pieces are from the Die-namics Blueprints 2 set.

The sentiment is from the Doodle Garden – Sweet as Can Bee stamp set.

Here are the MFT products I used on my card today. Please note the links to the new products won’t work until  they are released.

Don’t forget to head on over to the MFT Stamps Blog so you can find all the release details, prize information, and inspiration about this release.

Things with Wings!

CCEE1314-Butterfly-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week being a brand new month we have a new challenge hostess which is Kathy Bradley.

This week Kathy has challenge us to Make a card with the theme - “things with wings “(real or imaginary).

I am still playing with my new Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Framed Labels 18 embossing folder. This time round I only used the top portion of the folder so I could create a square card. I have again used the letter press technique when I used this embossing folder.

For my thing with wings I decided to use my Cottage Cutz Butterfly die. I die cut the butterfly twice from pink card and then layered them over each other to get a 3D look.

CCEE1314-Butterfly2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, I used a sentiment that I have had for a while … it works perfectly with this die.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Happy Birthday 2 You

MFTWSC118-YourDay-wm

Hi everyone,
It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for this week’s Wednesday Stamp Club sketch over on the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This week it is my turn to host the sketch.

GetSketchy_DesignTeamblinkie

For my card this week I have used the MFT Stamps Birthday Sentiments stamp set which is this month’s Triple Scoop set. I stamped the sentiment onto Smooth White card using Black Licorice Ink and used the Die-namics Circle Stax 1 & 2 to create all my circles. The base and layers of my card use Black Licorice card and Electric Red card.

For the sentiment “It’s Your Day” I used the Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome to create the tab.

MFTWSC118-YourDay2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, the BBQ on the bottom right is part of the designer paper I used on this card. I added a sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments stamp set and also added the Squiggle between my designer papers which was created using the Die-namics Squiggle Border .

Here are the MFT Supplies I used to create my card today:

Just for Mother’s Day

Mothers-Day-wm

Hi everyone,

I have been playing with Spellbinders new M=Bossabilities Framed Labels 18 embossing folder to create this card. This is a large die, larger than I was expecting so it makes a large card.

I used the Letter Press technique to get the pink color on my card. This embossing folder also co ordinates with the Spellbinders Labels 18 dies which is what I used for the sentiment. I added some pearls to the centre of the flowers on the card and also added some ribbon.

Stamps: Just for Mother’s Day – Print Blocks
Paper: White; Pink
Other: Pink Pink; Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Framed Labels 18; Labels 18 Dies; Ribbon; Buttons; Pearls; Foam Tape

It’s a Double Challenge!

Riley0713-StoryBook-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This week our challenge hostess is Mwah!

Today is International Children's Book Day and also Hans Christian Anderson's Birthday. So get your inspiration from a Children's Book for the challenge this week.

This month I am also a Guest Designer for The Color Throwdown Challenge Blog …. how exciting and a little scary too as color challenges are probably the hardest for me LOL!

Here are the colors we have to work with this week ….

swatch 236

For my card  I used Riley and Company’s Flower Bonnet , isn’t she adorable she reminds me of the Nursery Rhyme Mary Mary Quite Contrary with all the flowers in her basket Smile

Riley0713-StoryBook2-wm

Here is the inside of my card …. I must confess I got one of the colors confused with another color with a similar name which I use a lot when I first made my card so Riley/Sophie is stamped in the wrong color. I was able to pull my card apart so I could use the correct color everywhere but here. I also used the sentiment Make Your Life a Fairy Tale on the right hand side of my card.

    Thomas Kinkade

    CHF-PhotoNegative-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s the first CHF non challenge week of the month which means that this week is Thomas Kinkade week where each of the CHF Design Team will be featuring one of the Thomas Kinkade stamps on their blogs. You will need to keep an eye on the CHF DT’s blogs during this week as we won’t all be posting on the same day, but rather on a day that suits us depending on what other stuff we have to blog that week.

Each month I am attempting to use a different technique for my Thomas Kinkade card and this time round I have used the Photo Negative Technique to create my card.

If you love Thomas Kinkade stamps but don’t like coloring them in, this is a technique you may want to try and it is soooooooooooooo easy to do.

All I have done to achieve this look is to stamp my image using white ink, you can use silver ink instead if you prefer, but I decided to go with white ink for my card.

For my card this week I used Cornish Heritage Farms Thomas Kinkade stamp The Light of Peace. I decided to turn this into a sympathy card by using one of the sentiments from the Script Essential Expressions stamp set.

    CHF-PhotoNegative2-wm

Here is the inside of my card. I used another of the sentiments from the Script Essential Expressions stamp set.

By the way … did you know that Cornish Heritage Farms have released 12 new Thomas Kinkade stamps … you can find them all here.
