Mother's Day Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog! Today I am sharing a 5 x 7 Mother’s Day card I created using the March 2025 3D Embossing Folder of the Month.

This is such a beautiful embossing folder. I have been wanting to try the blackout technique for some time, so I decided to do it for my card today. For this technique, after embossing the card panel, you colour the design on the back side and then rub black ink all over the design.

I layered the design onto a 5 x 7 card base, layering using various rectangle dies including the filigree rectangle from Craft Stash.

I added a sentiment using the Mother’s Day sentiment from the Let’s Celebrate Sentiments Betterpress plate which I foiled using black foil. The sentiment is actually the negative design created by using the leftover foil & a solid foil plate.

For the inside of the card, I added a stripe of the leftover embossed design used on the front of my card.

I added two sentiments, the first from the We Are All Family Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. The second from the Sending Love Betterpress Plate which is also glimmer foiled using black foil,

Blue Floral Mother's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Mother's Day was last month, but I didn't get around to making any Mother's Day cards to share on my blog as I didn't need them for Mother's Day. However I did realise that I needed to make some to add to my two daughter's card packs I give to them at the end of the year, so today I am sharing one I have made for that purpose.

As you can see I have created a Z Fold Card and I used one of Crafter's Companion's Ribbon Threading die sets to decorate the left and right sides of my card. For this card I used the Alluring Aztec Ribbon Threading die set.

To decorate my card I used pattern paper from the Frida Kahlo Paper Pack from Creative Craft Products. I hand cut one of the flowers from the patterned paper to use to embellish the oval panel on the front of the card.

I used oval dies from Creative Craft Products for all the oval layers of this card. For the Mother's Day sentiment, I used an older stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps ... Best Parents.

Here is a look at the back of my card. I decorated each of the panels on the back as I did the front. For the sentiment on the back of the card I used a sentiment from Card Making Magic.

Sending You So Much ...

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Mother's Day on Sunday down here in Australia and I suddenly realised that I haven't made any Mother's Day cards this year. While I don't need them for Sunday, I normally make a few to add to my daughter's card packs I make to give them at Christmas, so I quickly got one made. I will get some more done during the year.

For my card today I created a 5 x 7 inch card using one of the new Creative Craft Products A2 Additions Love Word Panel Die and Stamp set. This die set includes the rectangle panel with decorative overlay & attached "Love" sentiment and a stamp set with various words/phrases that work with the word "Love". Being that this die is made to fit an A2 Card, it's a little wider than the width of my 5 inch wide card, and while I could have trimmed it flush with the card I liked the look of it hanging over the edge. The sentiment at the top of my card, is also included in the stamp set.

I decorated the lower left corner of my card using the flowers from Made To Surprise's Flowers and Foliage Stamp/Die set.

I added the word "Mum" which is from an older Simon Says Stamp stamp set, which I stamped onto a pink heart and added to the word panel.

To finish off the card, I added some pink dew drops randomly over the card.

For the inside of my card, I again used the rectangle panel included in the A2 Additions Love Word Panel Die and Stamp set. I trimmed off the word "love" from the top of the panel before adding it to my card. I used the panel on the front of the card to work out where to position the panel on the inside of the card, but this time I did trim off the overhanging sides.

I stamped the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment which is from the same Simon Says Stamp stamp set I used on the front. I die cut it into a rectangle and adhered it to the centre of the word panel.

Mother's Day Accordion Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day Accordion card I created recently. I know Mother's Day was a few weeks ago now, however this could easily be adapted for a birthday or other occasion for someone special.

For my card today I used Karen Burniston's new Landscape Rectangle Accordion die set that was released last week. I die cut the main "pages" of the card three times from pink cardstock and three times from patterned paper. I cut the centres out of the patterned paper pieces and then adhered the frames to the front and back of the first page and the front of the last page.

I used the stencil feature on the die to sponge in the stripes to the page in the centre.

I used one of the rectangle dies from the Short Rectangles - Crosshatch die set to die cut white rectangles which I adhered to the centre of each panel.

I used dies from the Dolled Up Charms die set to add the nail polish, lipstick and perfume. The purse uses the purse die from the Purse Pop-up die set.

I added the Happy Mother's Day to the centre panel, die cutting it from pink and black cardstock and layering together.

For the last panel I added the nail polish (hidden behind the fold on the photo above) and lipstick to the last panel. I also added the "Love You" sentiment which is from the Pop 'N Swap die set.

Here is a look at the front of my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

I added a border using a die included in the Border Blends - Trims die set to the top and bottom edges of all the patterned paper panels.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day themed Mini Slimline Card I created recently.

This is actually the first Mini Slimline Card I have created, I love making Slimline Cards but I have been trying to resist Mini Slimline cards. As you can see, I finally broke down and made one.

This mini slimline measures 3.5 inches x 6 inches.

To decorate the front  of my card I used Karen Burniston's Happy Mother's Day sentiment die and a couple of flowers from the Flower Pivot Panels die set.

For the inside of the card I used the Flower Pivot Panels die set to add the pop-up portion of the card.

On either side of the pivot panel I added a white panel using the scalloped rectangle included in the Slim Flaps and Frames die set.

I added the "Love You" sentiment using one of the dies included in the Pop 'N Swap die set.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day Slimline card I created recently using the new Karen Burniston Flower Pivot Panels die set. It is inspired by a card my friend Karen Aicken created a month or two ago using the Heart Pivot Panels die set.

This slimline card measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches, the front of the card measures 5/12 inches in length when closed so that you see a part of the back of the card when you are looking at the card when closed.

I used the largest die from the Crosshatch - Long Rectangles die set to die cut the patterned paper panels for all of the layers. For the shorter panels, after die cutting the rectangles, I repositioned the paper into the die so I could make the panels fit the size of the panels.

I added the new Happy Mother's Day sentiment die to the front of the card, which is one of the new dies being released on the 26th April USA time.

When you open the card you can see the new Flower Pivot Panels die set.

I used rectangles and decorative rectangles to add to the card which are all from the Slim and Flaps Frames die set.

The butterflies adhered to the Flower Pivot Panels frame are from the Backyard Charms die set.

The "Love You" sentiment is from the Pop 'N Swap die set.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For my card today I used the new Waterfall Card and Happy Mother's Day Sentiment Die sets to create a Mother's Day Slimline Waterfall Card. This die set gives you the option to either have the individual panels of the waterfall card to be either square or with a fancy bottom edge. As you can see I opted for the fancy bottom edge.

For each of the pages of my waterfall I pulled out a few "girly" type charm sets. On the first page I used the Dolled Up Charms set to add the nail polish and lipstick.

When you pull the tab at the bottom of my Slimline card it reveals the next page of the waterfall which features the ring and necklace from the Treasure Charms die set.

The sentiments used on the pages all come from Word Set 9 - Love die set.

For the third page it reveals the perfume bottle which is also from the Dolled Up Charms die set.

For the final page I used the chocolate dies from the Love Charms die set and the drink from the Happy Hour Charm set.

Here is a look at all the pages altogether.

As the focus of this card is the front of the card, I kept the inside fairly simple. I added strips of the patterned paper to each side of the card.

For the sentiment I used the sentiment from the Celebrate die set, this was layered onto a rectangle from the Waterfall Card die set  which helps to reinforce the tab for a bit more strength.

I also added another bottle of nail polish to the bottom of the card.

Well that is about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list which is the wonderful Karen Aicken

Here is the complete blog hop list if you need it.

Happy Mother's Day

Today I am sharing a Slimline Mother's Day card I created recently.

For my card today I used Simon Says Stamp's Sketched Flowers stamp set. I used one of the borders from Pinkfresh Studios Slim Lacy Edgers die set, which I used to die cut the edges of a panel of white cardstock, I then used gold paint to splatter over the background of the white panel.

I used a Mother's Day sentiment from a Lawn Fawn stamp set.

For the inside of my card I used the Slim Lacy Edgers die set along the bottom of the white panel. I added a Mother's Day sentiment which is an older one from my stash.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day Card I created using stamps, dies and papers from Divinity Designs LLC.

I have created a Half-Shutter Card using the Half Shutter Card with Layers die set.

I used the My World Stamp/Die Duos set for the rose images and sentiments included on this card.

For the centre panel, I added the "Mother" sentiment from the Family 1 die set which I layered onto hearts from the Layering Hearts die set.

I used papers from the Sweet Hearts Collection Paper Pad for the layers of the card.

The ovals were die cut using the Ovals and the Double Stitched Ovals die sets.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

All My Love

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month, it's time for a sketch challenge.

For my card today I pulled out a Penny Black stamp I purchased a month or two ago. I just loved this cute little bear and thought it was about time I used it. As Mother's Day was only last weekend, I decided to take the opportunity to add another Mother's Day card to my stash, I always need a few of these so my daughters both have enough for their needs.

For the inside of my card I decided to create a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Rockin' Rectangle Pop-up die set, substituting the rectangle for a circle.

I used the leftover triangles of cardstock that i had from creating the front of the card on the inside.

I also added another bear, this time from a MFT Stamp stamp set on the upright section of the pop-up arm.

Here is another view of the inside of the card, so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
