Hi everyone,
It’s challenge time again with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess, Sabrina brings us the last of her September challenges.
Sabrina’s challenge was to make your own designer paper/s, using any technique you like.
I must admit I am a big fan of designer papers and most times when I create a card I grab some designer paper to use with it. So when I get a challenge where I can’t use designer paper, I have one of those arghhhhhhh moments LOL! There are so many different techniques out there to use that it took me a while to decide just what I was going to do for this challenge, but finally I decided to use some of my neglected embossing folders I keep buying which is what I did here.
I used one of the New Spellbinders double sided embossing folders and used the Inked Embossing Folder technique. I dabbed the embossing folder with my ink pad before putting my card into the embossing folder and then running it through my big shot. I did this for both the white and red pieces of card that I used to create this card.
I thought it was about time I started building up my pile of boys cards as it won’t be long before I need to give these all away to my family for Christmas, so I used Sitting Luka from La La Land Crafts and sat him on his tyre swing.
Here is the inside of my card, as you can see I added the tyre swing again and added the “Thinking of You! sentiment to the inner part of the tyre swing, this sentiment comes with the Luka image I used on the outside of my card. I also added the Happy Birthday sentiment as I wanted to make this a birthday card.
Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Grin - challenges that push us out of our comfort zones (it's colour challenges for me!) do have that initial arghh factor, but look at that amazing background! I have some pads of handmade paper with great textured embossed papers and yours looks just as good - with the bonus of being able to choose your own colours.
I love those two embossing folders. Your colors are perfect....what a cute, cute boy card!
I love inking up those embossing folders to make a nice background. Your two background pieces look wonderful.
Your inked embossing folders are great for the background. I love that fun, sweet image and the sentiment gave me the biggest smile.
What an adorable card! The RED and blue are certainly BOY colors, and the bg you made with the ef and ink are fab!! No more arghhhhhhhh!!
Frances,
Oh my gosh, what a cutie pie of an image - reminds me of my son when he was very young!! Your card is just adorable and colored wonderfully!
Great job on the challenge and I love the two embossing folders.
