Noel

PoinsettiaAccordion-wm
Hi everyone,
It’s time again for another Karen Burniston Designer Challenge, the theme for October is CLEAR CREATIONS (aka Defying Gravity).
I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to create an Accordion Dies or Pop N Cuts dies for the challenge this time round … so I used both and made two cards. I will share my second card on my blog tomorrow.
PoinsettiaAccordion2-wm
As you can see for my first card I decided to create an Accordion card using Karen Burniston’s Sizzix Accordion Flip Album and Sizzix Frame & Label Bracket dies.
I die cut the three panels using the Sizzix Accordion Flip Album bigz die from acetate and then covered the frames using designer paper which were die cut using the Sizzix Frame & Labels Bracket Dies.
To decorate the centre panels of each piece I used the Karen’s Sizzix Noel Set Sizzlits set which includes the poinsettia die and Noel word. I also die cut the Flower from the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Poinsettia Insert for each of my flowers. After I had created both flowers I added Mustard Seed Distress Stickles over the flowers.
The Noel was die cut from gold shimmer card twice so that I could adhere the word on the other side of Noel to hid any adhesive.

Here is another photo of my card this time from the front when the card is folded.

And one last photo … this time folded completely flat ready for mailing.
I really loved this challenge, I have been wanting to play with acetate to create an accordion card for a while so this was the push I needed Smile.
If you are looking to purchase Karen’s Sizzix Pop N Cuts in Australia you can find them at Photo Continental.
Don’t forget to check out the Sizzix blog on Thursday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Dies: Accordion Flip Album Bigz  Die; Frame & Label Bracket Bigz Die; Noel Set  Sizzlits; Poinsettia Pop N Cuts Insert – Sizzix
Paper: December Documented DP – Simple Stories; Acetate
Other: Mustard Seed Distress Stickles

Wonderful clear creation, your poinsettia is so pretty with the glitter & sponged edges. I can't wait to see what's showcased tomorrow.
