Caravan Easel Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month, it's time to introduce our challenge hostess for the month which is Tracey Farr.

Apparently the first Saturday in August is "Campfire Day", so let's do a camping/campfire themed card for today's challenge.

I have had the Honey Bee Stamps Camp Trailer/Caravan Builder die set since late last year, I knew I wanted to use it to create a birthday card for my Son In Law, how loves camping/caravaning. Since his birthday is only a few weeks away this was a perfect time to use it.

As you can see I created an easel card, the width of the card is the same width as the caravan.  I adhered 'grass' patterned paper to the base of the card and also along the edge of the card where the caravan is attached to.

To decorate my card I added the two children and campfire from Uniquely Creative's Go Wild stamp set, they were colored to look like my grandchildren ... his children.

To help hold the caravan panel in place I added the "Birthday" sentiment which is a die from Simon Says Stamp. I added the "wishes" sentiment from another Uniquely Creative stamp set.

This is a view of my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. I added cloud stencilled panel of cardstock to the panel which can be seen above the caravan. 

I also added three pine trees to the background of the card. The pine trees extend above the fold of the card, so this won't fit into a standard sized envelope, but the trees made the scene looked more interesting and as I will be hand delivering the card it doesn't matter.
