In the Waves of Change

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  It the beginning of a brand new month which means it's time to introduce our challenge hostess for the month, which is Lynn McAuley.

In August 2020, fellow CCEE Stampers Design Team member Liz (Lynn's sister) is turning 70! So our challenges this month are designed to kind of go along with Liz's life story or adds some fun to this BIG event in her life.

Liz has lived most of her life near the gulf of Mexico so salt water seems to run in her veins. Since Aug. 7th is Lighthouse Day, use a lighthouse on your card and use a scripture or encouraging verse to add to it, letting words be a way to light someone on their path of life.

My card almost didn't make it this week, Divinity Designs has just released two new Lighthouse themed stamp sets and as I am on their Design Team of course I wanted to use one of the stamp set on my card this week. However due to COVID 19, mail can be awfully slow getting from the USA to Australia since there are less planes in the air right now. My August parcel which contains the stamp sets, is still somewhere in Chicago waiting to get onto a plane to get down to me.

Fortunately fellow Divinity Designs  Design Team member Kathy who lives about 30 minutes away from me received her parcel, so she kindly stamped out a couple of lighthouses and die cut the new dies that are also being released this month. Even that was against me as Kathy express posted the parcel to me, but what should have been next day delivery took 3 days to get to me arghhh! Anyway I am very grateful for everything Kathy did so I could create my card.

I created an Accordion Card using Divinity Designs Accordion Fold with Layers die set. On the front of the card I used the new Shine Bright Stamp set for the lighthouse. The lighthouse was die cut using the new Vintage 2 die set and then layered using the Double Stitched Ovals die set.

On the right hand full panel, I added a sentiment from the Shine Bright stamp set using the Ovals and Double Stitched Ovals die set for the layering.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
