Daisy Shower

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing six Slimline Cards I created recently using products from Spellbinders Yana's Daisies Collection.

I was only planning on making two cards, as I had inked up the Daisy Showers Betterpress plates twice using the teal & orange colours. But once I had stencilled the colours onto my cards, I decided to ink up a third panel.

This Betterpress plate is 5 x 7 inches, I think it is the first one of this size and I hope they produce more! I love this size as it gives more options, if you like doing A2 size cards, you can cut the panel down to that size, make 5 x 7 cards, or like I did when I had finished adding colour to all my panels, I cut them down to 7 inches x 2  1/2 inches so I got two cards out of one panel. Viola six cards!

These two cards above were actually the last two I inked, it was the colour I wanted when I did my orange card below, but I added too much orange to it. This one is prettier in my opinion. I used Orange Peel Catherine Pooler Inks for the main colour. I was very impressed how easy it was to create this background using my Betterpress, just the one inking and passing through the machine. If I had attempted this with a solid background stamp, I would have been doing it a lot more.

After I had cut all my decorated panels, I pulled out an old Mama Elephant Slimline die set called Slim Film City, and die cut the postage panel from black cardstock. It was slightly too long for my panel, so I cut it in half and then glued it back together overlapping one notch ... perfect sizing now! I then adhered this to a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 Slimline card.

This card uses Catherine Pooler Orange Peel & Orange Twist inks for the main colour.

For my final two cards I used Catherine Pooler ink On The Lake ink for the main colour.

For the sentiments for all my cards I used Yana's new Crafty Hugs Betterpress set. One thing I love about Betterpress plates is that I have the option of foiling them which is what I did here, using white glimmer foil on black cardstock. I just used two of the sentiments from the set for all my cards ... the cards on the left I used "Just a Note" and the ones on the right "Sending Love & Hugs".

I kept the inside of my cards fairly simple, just adding a die cut sentiment to them all.

For the cards that featured the "Just A Note" sentiment on the front I added the "Hello" which is an older edge die from Crafter's Companion. The other three which featured "Sending Love & Hugs" on the front, I used the Thinking of You sentiment which is an older one from Concord & 9th.
