Inlaid Die Cut Floral Double Slider Surprise

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. We are all back for another fun year of challenges with all my "Crazy" friends including a couple of new ones.  Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess for the month which is Karen Aicken.

For our challenge this  week Karen asks us What is our favorite card type to make? Pop-up, Shaker, Birthday, One Layer and to make one.

Anyone who knows me that my favorite card is another that is interactive ... Pop-ups, cards that move whatever. As I wanted to use another of the die from the stamp set I shared on my blog yesterday, I opted for a Double Slider Surprise Card.

I die cut the floral image directly into the white panel and then die cut it again from pink, green and yellow cardstock and inlaid the die cut pieces into the panel.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For the sentiments on  my card I used Simon Says Stamp! Sketched Flowers Clear Stamp set.

For the inside of my card I added a stripe of the patterned paper that I used on the front of my card and added another sentiment which is stamped using one of the labels from MFT Stamps BluePrint 33 die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Beautiful card. Love how you inlaid the die cut pieces to make such a pretty floral design. The inside is pretty also.

I love this card the inlaid flowers are amazing i was actually wondering how you did the inlaid part of the card? Cos it looks amazing. I have done inlaying once but it was on a card on the inside of the pop up sp you had the card base behind it then u stuck once the die cutting was done once into the inside piece of the pop up and once into the colour of yout choice then you stuck the two layers together i think it may of had tape on it so you stuck the inlay pieces in and it stuck to the double sided tape
But i was trying to figure out how you did it when its on the double slider card cos that piece that you die cut directly - thats the piece that wraps around so its not like when i did it when there was two layers of cardstock- the inner and outer layer of the inside of a pop up card so what did the inlay pieces stick to? I havent made a double slider but have watched videos im pretty sure that piece thats originally die cut just wrap arouns the card
Anyways it has me intrigued!
Hoping u can tell me how you did it cos it looks amazing!
Thanks!

Erin, to do the inlay die cutting on the front of the Double Slider Surprise card, I die cut the main die and then die cut the image into the front of the panel. I then cut another piece of thin cardstock, slightly smaller than the main panel and adhered it under the die cut image so that I could paper piece all the pieces back into the image. Hope that helps.
