Happy Birthday Matey

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess, which is Lynn McAuley.

Apparently tomorrow is Read a Road Map Day. Create a card which incorporates a map or has a travel theme.

Now my card doesn't use a road map as such ... the challenge said a map not necessarily a road map. As I had pirate stamps I purchased earlier in the year and also the torn paper dies which make perfect pirate maps, I decided to go that route for my card.

For the map part of the challenge, I created my pirate maps (3 in total) by using the largest die in the Craftin Desert Divas' Torn Paper Rectangles. I could these using various shades of brown inks and then added stamped images from Lawn Fawn's Ahoy Matey Stamp set.

I added the "Happy" Edge'ables die to the bottom of my card and then added some of the pirate images from Craftin Desert Divas' Pirate Pals stamp set.

For the inside of the card I created a Pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Rocking Rectangle Pop-up die set. This is fast becoming a favorite of mine!!!! I again added pirate maps which are exactly the same as the one on the front.

I used the smaller Torn Paper Rectangle die for the pop-up portion of the card as this suited the card better than the rectangles included in the Rocking Rectangle die set. I added more images from the Pirate Pals stamp set around my card, including another treasure map. So technically there are 4 maps on this card.

Here is another view of the inside of my card, taken at a different angle.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

I need to take you card, follow that map, and find that treasure chest!! The doctor bills and vet bills I am paying this week, leave me in need of a new source of cash!! LOL!!

Sensationally fun and fabulous card, Frances!

Such a super cute card, Frances. That torn paper rectangle die is perfect for your treasure maps. And I really like the white highlighting on the letters.

Frances, Joanne has said it well. I want to add that your map reading of a buried treasure would motivate me to brush up on my map skills for sure. Such a fun take on the challenge, and your cards always have that wonderful element of surprise and amazement.
