Hi Crafty Friends.
A few month's ago I shared an Elephant Bitty Ball Pop-up card I created for my sister's birthday. A friend asked if I could make her an Elephant Bitty Ball card which I have finally gotten around to making. You can see my original card here.
This time around I created a free standing elephant with a pocket card for it to be presented in. This way the recipient can keep the elephant on display for as long as they like.
Here is a quick video to see my card in action.
To create the elephant I used Karen Burniston's Bitty Ball Pop-up and Animal Add- On 2 die sets. Rather than creating a normal grey elephant, I decided to create a pink one for something different.
I added a flower to the elephant's head and also one that the elephant is holding using flowers from the Flip Frame Pop-up die set.
I attached the elephant to a large circle using the largest circle from the Circles - Crosshatch die set. This gives the elephant something sturdy to sit on and you can also use the underneath of this circle for a sentiment and a personal greeting. You can see the view of this in the video above.
As the elephant is attached to this circle using a brad, it is easy for the elephant to rotate around the circle.
I added the tail to the back of the elephant which is included in the Animals Add On 2 die set.
And one more look at the side view of the elephant.
As mentioned above, I created a pocket so that the elephant pop-up has something to hid in when it is being given to the recipient. This pocket measures 4 1/2 inches x 7 inches to allow for the elephants trunk and tail when it is flattened.
I created a belly band to hold everything together. I used the ovals from the Ovals - Crosshatch die set.
I added the "Go Wild!" sentiment which I die cut from pink and brown cardstock and offset the pink slightly over the brown to create a shadow effect.
To finish off the sentiment I added "It's Your Birthday" which is from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set.
