Soak Up The Sun

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our August Paper Pros challenge. This month our challenge is hosted by Sandy, and she challenged us all to a Summer Fun theme.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I had been wondering how I could combine Karen Burniston's Family Room Pop-up die set with MFT Stamps Swimming Pool die as I wanted to use both for this challenge. Someone asked the question on the Karen Burniston Pop-up Peeps Facebook Group as to whether the Family Room Pop-up could be used with a Double Floating Floor Pop-up. As always Karen Burniston gave it a go and came up with a wonderful Halloween card which is where I got the inspiration for this card today.

I had visions of the swimming pool surrounded by grass and a couch and table (Karen converted her single chair to a table), so I used green patterned paper that resembled grass for the base of the card and also the Double Floating Floor.

To create the double floating floor I used the floating floor from the House & Fence Pop-up die set.

I added the couch/table that I created using the main die from the Family Room Pop-up die set onto the floating floor. I then added palm trees using dies from the Palm Tree Pop-up die set.

On the lower portion of the card I added the Swimming Pool from MFT Stamps, adding an edge around the pool. I then used the stamps from MFT Stamps Sunshine & Friendship stamp set to decorate my card.

I also added the drink in the coconut from the Drink Up The Sunshine stamp set to some of the animals and also added one to the table.

On the lower portion of the other side of the card which you can see in the overhead view of my card above, I added a sentiment which is stamped & layered using the Crosshatch - Ovals die set.

For the front of the card I repeated a few of the elements I used on the inside of my card to create a scene. I used one of the border dies from the Nature Edges die set to die cut the grass and used the larger palm branches from the Palm Tree Pop-up die set for the palm tree.

From Our Gnome to Yours!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Bonnie Sharp.

Today is World Cardmaking Day so my challenge to you is so easy ... MAKE A CARD .... any design, any shape!!

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I created using some freebie stamps I received when I purchased a magazine recently ... I just had to have these adorable gnomes. There are two different gnomes in the stamp set but you can a few different options when it comes to their hands which can make them all different.

Of course I love pop-up cards so I had to create one for these stamps. For this card I used the floating floor die from Karen Burniston's House & Fence Pop-up die set. The floating floor included in this die set can be used on it's own to create some wonderful fun scenes in your card.

I decorated the back panel of the card using birch trees from Lawn Fawn. The trees were a little short for the length of the back panel, so I placed the cutting board just above the bottom of the tree die when cutting so I could lengthen the trees to suit the card.

Here is another view of my pop-up card, this time taken at a different angle so you can see the floating floor a little better.

Here is a close up of the inside of my card. I just love that sentiment ... "From our gnome to Yours!" I used one of the labels from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set for this sentiment.

For the front of my card I duplicated some of the elements that I used on the inside of my card.

For the snowy hills I used one of the border dies from the Nature Edges die set. I also added the "Merry Christmas" sentiment which is from the Words Set 3 - Holiday die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Grinch in Sleigh

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Christmas card, this one uses the new Sleigh Pop-Up Card die set from Karen Burniston. This die gives you the option of either creating a normal pop-up card as I have done for my card today, or a stand up Christmas card where both card panels are flat and only the sleigh stands up in the centre.

I was recently wasted a bit of time on Pinterest as we sometimes do haha. And I came across something to do with the Grinch. This reminded me of the stamp I have from Riley and Company ... Riley as the Grinch. I thought it might be fun using that image with the sleigh. Normally I would have put the coordinating sentiment that I have used in the past with this image, but for some reason I cannot find mine ;( ... so it is minus that sentiment. I also included Percy as Max.

To decorate the top and both edges of my card I added some papers die cut using the cloud edge from the Nature Edges die set.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card so you can see the pop up part of the card a little better.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple. I added the border along the top as I had on the inside and added a Christmas sentiment.

Stamps: Riley as the Grinch ; Percy as Max - Riley and Company
Paper: White; Red; Green; Gold; Traditional Christmas Paper Pack - Wild Rose Studio

Magical Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce a new challenge hostess, which is Kelly McKown-Santi.

Apparently Saturday 9th September is Teddy Bear Day, so for our challenge this week we are to create a card featuring a Teddy Bear!

Hopefully this cute little guy is classed as a teddy bear ... it is close enough for me haha! I recently received this stamp and so wanted to play with it.

To create my card I used the floating floor die which is included in the new House & Fence Pop-up Card die set from Karen Burniston. I am sure I will be using the floating floor die a lot!!!

I stamped the rabbit in the hat twice on white cardstock and twice on acetate, cut them out and layered the cardstock rabbits over the acetate ones so that I still got to see those magic dots around the rabbits. I added a speech bubble to the top of the card and a birthday greeting on the bottom section.

Here is another look at the inside of my card so you can see the floating floor a little better.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple seeing the focus is on the inside of this card. I stamped the rabbit/hat five times along a strip of white cardstock, added a sentiment and some stars.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

In The Meadow We Can Build a Snowman

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Christmas card using a few of the new die sets from Karen Burniston. This time around I wanted to play with the floating floor die which is included in the House & Fence Pop Up Card die set. I have done floating floors in the past but they were fiddly, but having the die makes them soooooooo easy!

As you can see I have decorated my floating floor using the snowman from the Snowman die set. This snowman is basically the same as the snowman in the Snowman Twist Circle Card die set, the only difference is the body. This set was released for those who had the older Twist Circle Card Pop it Ups die set who wanted the snowman.

Having both sets is handing when you are wanting to make more than one snowman like I have for my card as I was able to die cut two at a time.

I used the Katherine Label Pop-up die set for the label and added a sentiment.

Here is another look at the inside of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the floating floor a little better.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple seeing the focus of this card is the inside. I just added a sentiment using the Word Set 3 - Holidays die set which has been layered onto labels from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set.
