Let's Get The Parrot-y Started

Ahoy there Me Hearties,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Today is Talk Like A Pirate Day, so grab those pirate stamps/dies to create your card this week. No pirate stamps, think beach, ocean or treasure.

For my card today I created a Sliding Window Card using the die set from Sunny Studio Stamps. I have made a few of these in the past which are the standard card size, however for my card today I wanted to try using it on a larger card with the sliding part of the card to the right, this allows you to add to the scene of the card with more images etc.

A month or two ago Craftin' Desert Divas had a sale on their stamps, so I decided to add a few of their stamps to my stash. Since then due they have announced they are closing.

To create my card I first die cut the sliding window card on the right hand side of a square card. I then created the background. Using one of the borders from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders die set to create a mask and then used distress oxide inks to sponge the sand and then the sky area.

I cut another piece of white cardstock the same size as the main panel and added Antique Linen Distress Oxide to the area which will be seen when the slider is up. I then added a sentiment and parrot to this.

I then decorated the card using palm trees from Karen Burniston's Palm Tree Pop-up die set and stamps from Craftin' Desert Diva's Pirate Treasure and Pirate Pals stamp sets.

On the back of the card I added a sand area and then added a few more of the accessory stamps from the two stamp sets and added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Ahoy Matey stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Nuts for You!

PTI-Nuts4U-wm

Hi everyone and happy Sunday to you all. I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

My card today is another Slider Card this time using Papertrey Ink’s Movers & Shakers  Slider Dies. I discovered that Papertrey Ink had fun dies to create interactive cards when I was searching on Pinterest recently for Slider card ideas.

This time round I have placed the slider on the front of a normal top folding card.

Here is my card again this time laying down so you can see the slider in action. The squirrel is also from Papertrey Ink … Nuts for You Stamp & Die set. I paper pieced the squirrel using designer paper.

Here is one last shot of the front of my card so you can see the whole card when the slider is open.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Saturday is challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week is the first Saturday of a new month which means we have a new challenge host …. Angela Wood. Angela has challenged us to create a Valentine’s card.

C4C73-Valentine-wm

I created another Sliding Pop-Up card using the tutorial that can be found on SCS. I have had so much fun with these cards, (I will have another for you later in the week). I used two Magnolia stamps to create this card, Sister & Brother (I figured they looked like sweethearts) and the background is also a Magnolia stamp, which I colored using my copic airbrush.

Here is another view of my card.
