A Special Treat!

C4C225SweetTreat-wm

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Being a brand new month, it is time for a new challenge hostess which is Kelli Hull.

Kelli says that according to Pantone, Radiant Orchid is the IT color this year. So for our challenge this week Kelli has challenged us to use the color Radiant Orchid (or close to it) along with grey and white when creating out cards.

For my card today I decided to use Karen Burniston's Heart Pivot Card die from her Pop it Ups line for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Hearts aren’t just for valentines day etc … you can use them any time!!!

I used grey as my base of my card but covered the front with a orchid colored designer paper. Along the right edge of my card I used the Agatha Edges die set to create the shaped edge and the flourish embellishment I also added to my card.

For the inside, I added the same paper I used on the front of my card along the bottom of my card and also added thin white tape along the top.

For the hearts I used some of the coordinating dies also included in the Heart Pivot card die set embossing the orchid hearts using Karen’s Sizzix Swirls Embossing Folder.

The sentiments are two which are included with the image I used on this card. I die cut one of the labels from the Lucy Label Pop-Up die set and then threaded the die cut in the die so that only one edge would be cut and put it back through my die cutter. I did the same on the other side so it was even and then stamped my sentiments.

On the left side of my card I cut another label from the Lucy Label Pop-Up die set (this is actually the same size as the other two labels before I cut them down using the die.

I added Art Impressions Cupcake BFFs to the right side of my card.

And finally the back of my card. As you can see I didn’t use designer paper on this part … it doesn’t need it seeing it is the back! But you can see how you can see the decorated heart and sentiment when the card is closed.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
